I lowered it so I can focus on more MG and YA....though I will probably do a lot of picture books still. And if you wonder if I eat and sleep, check out John Schu who has a goal of 2012 books for the year. :-)
I'm cutting way back this year because reading 300 books last year (no picture books) caused me to gain 20 pounds.

I listen to audiobooks while knitting and driving. I'm experimenting with using my Kindle with the large print setting to walk on my treadmill and read. But I did realize that for me, 300 YA and adult books caused me to neglect other areas of my life. Like you, I watch no TV!
300 YA and adult books is a serious commitment. Fully understand the need to scale back.
I got complaints from my significant other!! :) I still don't do a lot of housework though!
I definitely did not replace some books with housework. That would be just wrong. I am working on eating better though, which is time consuming and walking and biking. I knit a sweater too!
