Good Preschool or Kindergarten read aloud. Counts down from 12 monsters using rhyme. Nice bright engaging illustrations.

This book would be a nice introduction to teaching about subtraction. It talks about how math can be fun then it leads into having all of the monsters playing together. One monster goes away on each page. Kids often like monsters so this could be a nice incentive for them to think about math. I think it would also be helpful for learning about math story problems. Younger children could count how many monsters are on each page. I liked this book pretty well.

This book has to do with counting and monsters. it begins with 12 monsters and as the story progresses more and more disappear.
In a class i would use this book with a younger audience as just like a read aloud so that they can get comfortable. Then with an older group i would have them try to predict what is going to happen in every page. They would write it down and then all share what their predictions were.

This is a cute story about counting monsters. It is an awesome way to teach subtracting and the one less method. can be read aloud in a small or large group then can lead into the game of ten in my hand.

I always had a soft spot for books that rhymed, and this one was no exception. "Monster Math" would be a wonderful book to use when trying to teach number sense. It goes through a whole bunch of activities that reduce the amount of monsters in the book to one. Good for K-1
