Bridget adores her toy, Captain Cat, and freaks out when she loses him in the toy store. Zany, over-the-top illustrations.
My listener liked this.
Fun to read and look at at any age. Plus a wonderful surprise ending.

We have all been attached to something when we were little or even as adults. Bridget was attached to Captain Cat and I cold feel her pain when she dropped him and someone else took it. It is scary to even think about losing something I love.

Toy: Stuffed Animal

A great funny, fast-paced read for any child that's lost their "special one and only" toy. After Bridget gets money from the Tooth Fairy, she heads off to the toy store with her mom. On her way spizooming through the store, her beloved Captain Cat falls out of her bag. Now Bridget's on the quest to find her dear friend.

While the story is fun and humorous and cute, the artwork amplifies the moods of excitement, despair, and action. For example, when Bridget rece
Bridget adores her stuffed toy, Captain Cat, but when she rushes around the toy store in search of something to buy, she drops him, and another little girl picks him up. Once she realizes that she has lost Captain Cat, Bridget and her friend Billy rush around trying to find him. Once they do, Bridget takes him back, but does the right thing with her money. I'm sure that's one tired stuffed animal and one emotionally exhausted girl at the end of their shopping trip. I liked this one because the i ...more
The illustrations worked so perfectly with this story. This was an accident find (fell out of somebody's backpack, and I picked it up). After reading it, of course, I want to claim it as mine! In real life, I'd definitely make Bridget and Billy my best friends.

Breathless, energetic, a bit zany, and quite fun. A great one to pair with Mo Willems's Knuffle Bunny.

Lots of true humor, easy-to-follow yet really enjoyable story. Stuffed animal Captain Cat's smile at end is a nice touch. Hope there are or will be sequels!
