I'm aiming for 200 as well!

Sarah Good luck Vickie, how many did you read last year? I managed 256 but that does include some short stories & novellas :o)

151! I didn't read for 3-4 months though.

message 4: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Thats a good total when you went months without reading :o) I don't think I could go that long without picking up a book though lol

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

I burnt out a bit - read too much and tried to do too much, blogging wise!

message 6: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I can relate to the blogging burn out, I'm feeling a bit like I'm reaching one at the moment so I'm going to concentrate on reading more of what I want to this year rather than feeling like I have to read certain things at certain times. It can be hard when you blog on your own can't it! I'm not sure that I'd want to share my blog though - it's mine & I'm a bit OCD about it lol. I do have a regular reviewer now though but she emails everything to me & I do the actual posting :o) Hopefully you'll enjoy blogging more this year

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

I blog for two places, just to add to the stress! I have my own blog and them work with a team. Definitely slow down and re-read something you love if you're feeling a bit burnt out, it'll help! I was considering an extra reviewer last year but I've decided I can't give up any space and it would be weird - it is titled ComaCalm's corner after all!

message 8: by Ceri (new)

Ceri Good luck on your challenge :)

message 9: by Sarah (new)

Sarah @ Vickie, I dread to think of the stress of having two blogs lol. At least one of them is a team affair though :o) I'm definitely going to stop pressurising myself this year & start reading more of the books that I bought for myself too. I had the same struggle you did about giving away blog space but I think the way we've got it organised is going to work for us both. She is under no pressure to write reviews so it might only be one a month if that's all she feels like doing & I can post them whenever I have a space that needs filling which works for me too.

@ Ceri - thanks, good luck with yours too :o)

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Good luck with everything - and Happy New Year!

message 11: by Sarah (new)

Sarah And to you hun, let's hope 2012 is an awesome one! :o)

message 12: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Good luck, Sarah!

message 13: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Thanks Catherine & to you too! How many are you aiming for this year?

message 14: by Catherine (new)

Catherine I'm going for 200, too.

message 15: by Sarah (new)

Sarah 200 seems like a popular target :o) Fingers crossed we all hit it!

message 16: by Catherine (new)

Catherine *fingers crossed* :D

message 17: by Ceri (new)

Ceri 6 already!!!! Have you remembered to eat, sleep, breathe etc :)

message 18: by Sarah (new)

Sarah LOL 2 of them have been very short stories which I kind of feel is cheating but there is no way to not count them towards the challenge. I spent the whole day yesterday doing pretty much nothing but read which was nice :o)

message 19: by Ceri (new)

Ceri How I long for a day of just reading, maybe in about 15 years time my dream will come true!! A short story counts as a book on here so don't feel like your cheating. I still think you haven't eaten or slept though..... :P

message 20: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Lol the full day of reading is one of the advantages of not having kids & currently being single :P Hopefully you won't have to wait 15 years before your dream comes true though! I did get some sleep but I suffer with insomnia so I rarely get more than 3-4 hours per night (that goes on for weeks until I reach complete burn out and can literally sleep for 16-20 hours straight!)

message 21: by Ceri (new)

Ceri Sorry about the insomnia, I get a few nights a month where I can't sleep and it's pretty annoying, especially when I have to run around after the kids all day!! I have started to pick up my book when I'm not sleeping but funny enough I didn't last night and went straight back off.

message 22: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Insomnia sucks but I've had it for as long as I can remember so I'm kind of used to it now. I can read until I physically can't keep my eyes open anymore and I still won't be able to fall asleep lol. Glad you had a good night last night :o)

message 23: by Charlotte (new)

Charlotte Wow, thats alot of books! Hope you do well!

message 24: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Thanks Charlotte, I may end up reducing this figure by the end of the year but I might aswell aim high :o) Good luck with your challeng too

message 25: by Rogier (new)

Rogier woow/feel so little read only 6 books so far

message 26: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Hi Rogier, some of these have been short stories & novellas so they're not all full length novels :o)

message 27: by Brittany B. (new)

Brittany B. 5 more books!!!! Then you're at 300!! You and Aly are seriously amazing. (She's at 331 going for 400?!?!?)
I'm very impressed, Sarah!!! You're also a rock star!

message 28: by Sarah (new)

Sarah LOL thanks Brit, I hadn't realised how close I am to finishing the challenge - I guess I'd better increase my goal! I have to admit that I've read quite a few novellas and short stories this year so they aren't all full length books which feels like cheating really :o)

message 29: by Brittany B. (new)

Brittany B. Wow 350 is amazing. You're so close!

message 30: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I've been a bit of a reading demon this year Brit lol. There are a lot of novellas in that total though, they're not all full length books :-)

Aly is so frigging bored Congrats! And you still have a bit of 2012 left :D :))

message 32: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Thanks Aly, I thought I'd finished it but Goodreads keep merging books and I'm down to 347 again LOL. I'll definitely finish by the end of the year though :o)

Aly is so frigging bored LOL! How did they do that?!

message 34: by Sarah (new)

Sarah They seem to be deleting all the series extras (you know the little deleted scenes or chapters from different characters points of view that are on author's websites?). I'd reviewed a lot of them on goodreads but now they're deleting the books out and merging the reviews that people have written on them. I wish they would make a proper announcement about it because they keep changing the ratings on books I haven't even bloody read yet. It's really starting to piss me off LOL

message 35: by Aly is so frigging bored (last edited Dec 03, 2012 02:17PM) (new)

Aly is so frigging bored Dude, that sucks! I have to see what they did to mine!

edit: they did the same to mine! 3 have disappeared till now.

message 36: by Sarah (new)

Sarah It's really irritating isn't it! I can't even figure out which ones are gone!!! I wish they'd send an email or something
