I've been pleasantly surprised with the first 2 books in this series. I do think the plot gets a little lost, though, as it's pretty romance driven. Our main characters know each other like a week max before they are head-over-heels-can't-live-can't-breathe-without-you love. It almost made me cringe. Almost. I kept reminding myself that these guys aren't human, they are Ikati aka panther shifters, and as such they are controlled in part by their animal instincts. So things like bo

In this second entry to the hidden world of the panther shifting psychically gifted Ikatie, former member of the Ikati counsel, Morgan, is under a death sentence for treason, but has earned a chance for a reprieve if she can uncover the base of operations for the Expungi who seek to wipe her people from the Earth. Morgan only has two weeks to accomplish her mission and accompanying her is assassin Xander who is there to make sure that she stays on task - and to carry out her sentence should she ...more

What a fantastic read! J.T Geissinger has stepped it up for Urban Fantasy. Book one (Shadow's Edge) was hit for me, but I never thought it could get better. It did. J.T has taken us deeper into the world of the Ikati and things are more messed up than you'd think.

I loved the prologue. It was quick and interesting. The last sentence is my favorite part, "And though we have learned to live alongside you, thought we have learned to survive, though we may smile and nod as we pass you in the street,

Totally twisty

Lots of twists and turns!!! Slow at first but then takes off like a rocket.

I liked Morgan from the first book. I love a woman who just knows she is better then the environment around her and rebels at every corner.

Xander is dark and complicated. Lots of pain. He has some cool friends and lots of powers.

Next story set up perfectly. I do wish it explained more what happened at the end. The only part I didn’t like.
Morgan has admitted to being guilty of one of the most serious crimes a member of the Ikati can commit, her act of treason led their mortal enemies right to their door and ended with the kidnapping and torture of her queen. There is only one punishment for such a serious crime - the death penalty - and Morgan is just waiting for her sentence to be carried out. But at the very last minute Queen Jenna offers Morgan the chance to redeem herself, if she can track down the headquarters of the Expurga ...more

In the last book we got to know Jenna and Leander, King and Queen of the Ikati. However, in Shadow's Edge, Morgan was a secondary character who was not happy with the hand she was dealt. As a gifted female Ikati, she was a pawn to the "Law". She was unable to leave their sanctuary and find a mate of her own. Instead she had to mate with someone of their choosing and she could not live a life of freedom. So in the end of Shadow's Edge, you find out that Morgan has betrayed the Ikati and has given ...more

Book 2 in the series follows Morgan. She is set to be executed due to her involvement in the Expurgari capturing/torturing Daria and Jenna when the Queen comes up with a plan to send her to Rome to try to find the Expurari and spy on them. She is not sent alone. Xander, an assassin is sent with her. Should she fail to find the Expuragi within 2 weeks, he is to kill her. Of course, there is a power struggle between them that fosters a lot of sexual tension. In Rome, instead of finding the Expurga ...more

I really enjoyed this book and could have read it a lot faster if I hadn't just started a new job at the same time I received it! This was Morgan's book with her love interest being the Ikati Assassin Xander. It was great getting into her head and seeing how much she genuinely regretted what she did and maybe even craved home a little after trying to escape it for so long. There were also a couple of pretty big twists regarding the Expurgari that I won't reveal but that did take me by surprise a ...more

Book one in this series sparked my curiosity but book TWO in this series has completely won me over. Yep... I am a fan! I should've known this one was gonna' be good because it starred Morgan who is a character full of spunk, defiance and sass. Definitely a personality that is entertaining and full of surprises. And, when you throw in a mysterious, dangerous, hunky assassin named Xander... well now... that is a recipe for romance... right?? Well, except for the fact that he is an assassin and hi ...more
Again J.T. Geissinger manages to keep me up past my bedtime … Shapeshifters … I just love them. Panthers… how cool, right?

I had a lot of fun with the first book with its setting in the dark and foggy forests of England. This time the setting is the beautiful city Rome in Italy. Sigh... bella Italia…!

The second book "Edge of Oblivion" tells the story of Morgan and Xander. We already met Morgan in the first book "Shadow’s Edge". She is an interesting character and a very free spirit. After she mad

Sometimes an author is lucky (or maybe I should say talented) and all the stars align perfectly so that the end result of all their hard work, a finished and published book, is exquisite. Edge of Oblivion is a sublime example of a paranormal romance, and I was both dreading and anticipating getting to the last page. Edge of Oblivion is published by Montlake Romance, a publishing arm of Amazon. I’m extremely impressed with my first experience with this publisher. Geissinger’s writing is top-notch ...more

Very Interesting

Very interesting dynamics between Morgan and Xander. The assassin and his mark. Not an easy love connection that's for sure. Even though both characters have done horrible things, you can't help but like them. The Alpha that they find is completely insane but it would be exciting to see where his experiments go. I am very curious what he found. This is an interesting mix of sci fi and urban fantasy.
Beautifully written fairy tail that left me breathless

As much as i loved the first book, i loved this one even more. Which is first for me. I hardly ever like the second book more than the first.
I have to admit, that after reading the first book, I had high expectations for the sequel. Not nessecaraly looking for something different. More like wanting for it to be at least as good as the first one. Because I thought that the writing style was qiute unique. One of the reasons I loved the first b
Edge of Oblivion is book two in this powerful series that J.T. Geissingler has created. As you may be aware I have already reviewed books 1 and 3 (feel free to check out my reviews HERE).. you know me always have to mix things up (yeah right, my reading order OCD has gone completely haywire). Anyway both books were a delight and I am looking forward to the rest of the series. But Edge, I think will always have a special place in my heart)

J.T. Geissinger breathes fresh life into the paranormal romance genre with the Night Prowler series. Edge of Oblivion captivated me with the thrilling excitement of the plot and the smoldering relationship that developed between Morgan and Xander. I somehow missed the first book in the series, Shadow's Edge, but after reading Edge of Oblivion I really want to go back and read it. Even without having read the first book, I didn't have trouble figuring out the world of the Ikati and

This book is better than the first ☺.

So this book seems to start a couple of weeks after the first book. Jenna and Leander are married and Jenna is settling into her role as Queen.

Morgan is charged with treason for her part in what happened at the end of book one. She is going to be executed. Remember though that Morgan put into action the betrayal before she really got to know Jenna, before she knew that Jenna was Queen. It is no excuse for what she did but it does make you feel a l

So, so good! It's been a few years since I read book #1 so I commend Geissinger for creating a world and a mythology that was so impressive I was immediately drawn right back in.

*ARC received from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Edge of Oblivion was my first foray into the world of NIGHT PROWLER and the mind of J.T Geissinger and immediately upon completion of the book I was kicking myself because I didn't take the time to read Shadow's Edge first - not that Edge of Oblivion didn't stand well on its own, on the contrary, it worked as a standalone just fine - but because it was so amazing I

Morgan had been labeled a traitor to the ikati people. The punishment is death. Luckily for Morgan her friend is the queen. On second thought, luck just may not be on Morgan’s side. The queen is giving Morgan a second chance to right her wrong. Morgan must find the Expurgari. The expurgari are the ikati’s enemy. Morgan has only two weeks to find them or she forfits her life. Morgan will be accompanied by Xander, an assassin. Xander is the one that will eliminate Morgan if she does not succeed wi ...more

There’s so much that happens in this story that just has you glued to the page. Xander and Morgan are incredibly compelling and my heart just broke for them repeatedly. I love the members of the Syndicate that are introduced. I am also intrigued with the idea of a newly discovered colony, though I have no idea where that might go in future books and I fear how things will go with who I suspect is the villain of book 3. I can’t really say too much about the colony and the villain and all due to s ...more

Oh I am so glad Morgan got her book. I really enjoyed reading this tale and I look forward to the next in the series. I give the book 5 stars.

To tell you the truth I have never been a big shifter fan. I have always preferred vampires over werewolves. However if there was an animal that I really love it is the panther so when I first seen Shadows Edge available for review I thought I would give it a try and I loved it. The second in the series Edge of Oblivion is no different. It was awesome writ

"Edge of Oblivion" is the second book in the 'Night Prowler' series. I actually wished I read the first book, but after some confusion and finding the answers to my questions, I was hook in the story line. J.T. pens her characters interesting in a well developed plot that has plenty of suspense, action and romance with a touch of the paranormal/fantasy world. A must read for all fantasy/suspense/supernatural/romance fans.

Dark, compelling paranormal with echoes of the Brotherhood of the Black Dagger, except these characters are Ikati, shapeshifters. Loved the two main characters and the relationship between them is hot! J.T. Geissinger is a terrific writer who sucks you into her story and won't let you go until you turn the last page.

Good story. Fabulous chemistry between Xander and Morgan. Really enjoyed the new facet of the race and the enlarging of the world. Excellent world building and scene descriptions. Unfortunately while there's a satisfying ending it also felt abrupt and somewhat hollow to me. I would have like a little more explanation as to how the final decision went down. That's the only complaint I have. I'll be happily continuing with
