I read this novella as part of the Baby, It's Cold Outside anthology (This story was called 'Tis the Season to Love Shopping in the anthology & has been re-named before being released as an individual novella)

Kate moved from London to New York for her dream job but she left her boyfriend behind and their attempts at a long distance relationship were a disaster. Lonely and miserable she decides she might as well make the most of the Christmas day quiet to catch up on her work. When she ends up ge

TIS THE SEASON TO GET LUCKY by Heidi Rice is the latest Christmas novella from Entangled Publishing and it is a quick and fun read for anyone with a few minutes to spare.

The premise follows Kate Braithwaite-whose long distance relationship was brought to an abrupt halt on Christmas morning. Hoping to forget about the holiday, she heads to her office where she is determined not to wallow in her own pity party. But luck would have it when the boss’s son Ryder Sinclair makes an unexpecte

I loved this story. ‘Tis the Season to Get Lucky was so much more than I was expecting. This is definitely a Christmas romance NOT to be missed. Appearances are not always as they seem and this story is a perfect example of that. ‘Tis the Season to Get Lucky made me laugh, smile, and fall in love with Ryder and Kate.

Ryder Sinclair is the heir apparent to the Sinclair department store. He doesn’t make a lot of appearances at the store but he pulls d

Kate is heading to her job at Sinclair’s on Christmas Day, trying to ignore the fact that she’s all alone on Christmas and that her long-distance boyfriend dumped her. Just. That. Morning. Ryder is the heir to the Sinclair’s fortune and is also at the store trying to find a Christmas present for his daughter. When they bump into each other, their first impressions of the other are not that great. Kate thinks Ryder is nothing more than a wealthy playbo

Ryder Sinclair is back in town to visit is daughter fro Christmas and is visiting his father’s store for a present. In walks Kate, the new PR manager for the store. She knows of Ryder and what she knows does not impress her. Having to spend an evening locked up in the store waiting out a storm is not what she had planned, especially in the company of the playboy-heir of the company.

This was such a fun story. I enjoyed watching as Kate’s assumptions about Ryder were put to rest and in its place a
Entangled has been doing well this season with their Christmas novellas. Tis the Season to Get Lucky puts Kate, a PR manager snowed into a department store with Ryder, the son of store's owner. I wish I had a chance like this - it would be so much fun raiding the different deparments for "survival supplies". Ryder jumps at the opportunity to get closer (and fulfil his dream of raiding the store as well) to the uptight Kate, and Kate decides to let her guard down and enjoy herself for just one ni ...more

With a crazy snow storm outside, Kate has to deal with her phobia of being afraid of the dark. When the lights go out she latches onto the first safe thing in her path, which happens to be Ryder Sinclair and of course, Ryder doesn't mind having a sexy voluptuous woman plastered to his chest, even if it is from fear. Kate and Ryder are stuck in his father's department store because there's a freak snow storm outside and of course, they make the best out of the situation. When the storm's over and ...more

Disclaimer: I received this book free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

This was such a perfect Christmas novella, that it made me want to read more of it. Unfortunately, it’s a novella which means, short and sexy, and boy was it sexy. First let me say this cover completely fits with our hero in the story. I mean, have you taken a look at those abs?
As I’ve said with every novella I’ve read,

Full review on my blog, Becky on Books.

Somehow, even though 'Tis the Season to Get Lucky is even shorter in length than the first book in the series, 'Tis the Season to Kiss Santa, it didn't end up feeling nearly as rushed. I found the initial antagonism between the two characters much more believable, and their gradual giving in to their attraction more realistic. Plus, they got to indulge in every woman's secret fantasy--"shopping" in a closed department store. (Seriously. With a hot guy, too.

I've been reading a lot of Christmas themed novellas for reviews & this is my FAVORITE one so far. It was perfect in so many ways! I loved that while there was an instant attraction between Katherine and Ryder, they had almost a "distrust" of each other because of their preconceived ideas. Secondly, I loved the humor in the story - Kate's outfit when they meet, Ryder's suggestion of "What happens in a snowbound department store on Fifth...", the fun they had scavenging through the store. What I ...more

Kate Braithwaite is not having a very merry holiday. She is spending Christmas day at work rather than stay in her apartment alone. She was just dumped by her boyfriend by email. Getting caught in a New York blizzard might be the best thing that every happens to her. She is snowed in with Ryder Sinclair the sexy son of the store owner. They may have started off on the wrong foot but that quickly changed. The heat between these two is off the charts. Will her Christmas wish come true? I loved thi ...more

I know you should never judge a book by its cover, but how can you not! I have to admit it drew me to the book. A book that is as lovely as the site gracing the cover. It's a well-written, sexy, fun, romantic, captivating read which flows well, has wonderful loveable characters and a witty yet completely touching storyline.

As someone who admits they aren't a huge fan of novella's unless linked to a series, I was chuffed to bits with this. If you have an hour, festive frolics with Kate and Ryder

So far this is the 2nd of the 'Tis the Season books I've read from Entangled and it's currently my favorite. I'm normally not a big novella reader because I always want to know more or read what happens next but this one was really enjoyable as is. I don't care how plausible this or that was it was just a really fun story. Who wouldn't want to be trapped in a huge department store overnight and you throw in a hot guy who's been overseas embedded with the military and hasn't seen a woman in month ...more

Katherine and Ryder were a very difficult couple for me because at first I couldn’t connect with neither. Kat was a bit cold and everything was mechanical for her, so I liked halfway into this novella the way Ryder showed some freedom. Their night together was extra hot and I think she needed after the way her boyfriend dumped her with an e-mail. At first thought you think Ryder is just another playboy, but in reality his life is completely different and he showed a nurturing side talking about ...more

This was such a sweet, romantic, and easy read. Sometimes we get too wound up in the lives we believe are meant to be for us that we lose sight on what we really need. This is how it was for Ryder and Kate. Ryder is a playboy, of sorts, the owner's son. As far as Kate can tell, he doesn't care about the business, which is the complete opposite of Kate. She would rather spend time at work on Christmas than alone at home. One snowstorm later has Kate reevaluating Ryder and both of them looking at ...more

I received this book for review from the publisher and the author. I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review.

You’ll find that you’ll get a little jealous of how Kate and Ryder spend their Christmas. This would be a great read for Christmas Eve. And what a great way to celebrate with your significant other – think role-playing. This story will have you smiling at the end. It’s a great holiday tale. It also has me wanting to check out some of Heidi's other books. This no

The story consists where situation happened in a store with lots of flirting and talk, and good sex. Kate's phobia, I felt bad for her because I knew exactly how it feels since me myself have a lot of phobias. Anyway, I liked her guy though. Ryder is so hot, loving, caring, sweet, cool, and very protective. Swooned. Smitten. Both of them have sense of humour and I enjoyed a lot their snarky verbal to each other. Couldn't resist from laughing a lot.

everything was the great. both characters are fun but one night stand inside the dept store and the next few days theyre in love with each other.unrealistic since they dont have anything in common except that girl got dumped after a long distance rship and the hot guy is finally ready to settle down in new york. this would have been better if there was more meat in the story and the characters.

My name's Heidi Rice, I'm a USA Today Bestselling author. I'm married with two sons (which gives me rather too much of an insight into the male psyche!).

I love my job because it involves sitting down at my computer and getting swept up in a world of high emotions, sensual excitement, funny feisty women, sexy tortured men and glamourous locations where laundry doesn't exist ... Not bad, eh.
