“If they ever find you…run.”

Imagine your mother saying this to you every day until she died. Imagine she never explained the reasoning behind it or who they were; just ground it into your head from infancy. You’d probably be a little paranoid, wouldn’t you?

Now imagine that one day you’re standing in line at the grocery store and out of nowhere every single nerve ending in your body starts firing, all of them screaming at you to run as adrenaline floods your veins. You can feel the danger pres

I hate to DNF at the 11% mark because it feels like I didn't give the book a proper chance, but it was so clear that this was not the type of PRN romance I was looking for that going on would have been a waste of my time.

In that short 11% there were:

- An abundance of clichés. Both of the MCs were inhumanly beautiful, elegant, strong and all-around perfect. Zzz…

- Several major eye-roll worthy moments. (view spoiler)

I was really hesitant in reading this book because of all the poor reviews, but some of the bloggers in the community mentioned this author was good. Also, the AUDIO book was free on Kindle Unlimited so I thought why not?

Here’s the thing, some books on audio are way better on audio verse standard reading. For example, I HATE HATE HATE descriptive books with a lot of inner monologue, BUT I don’t mind it in audio format. I also hate lengthy, wordy and draggy books, BUT I don’t mind i

Pretty good. Different. I liked the heroine. I'm not sure if the same couple will be in the next book in this series or not, which would change my opinion of this book. If they're not, then I'm disappointed in the heroine for not being more powerful, if they are, then this is a good start. I do think at times this book was overly long and the flashbacks could've been shorter, but it didn't bore me. I liked the world building and the ikati and hope the heroine shakes their world up more if she's ...more

I recently read 1 and 2 of the Slow burn series and really enjoyed them. So, I thought I would give this a try. I think this was her first book, so I will try the next one. This was so over the top with the overwhelming passions or whatever?
From the first moments of the book and they see each other.

"If they ever find you ... run" is a lesson her mother had repeated to Jenna over and over again, but when 'they' - the beautiful, graceful and dangerous shape shifting Ikati - do find her, Jenna decides to ignore her urge to flee in order to finally get the answers to the questions that have haunted her for her entire life. And that decision and those answers - and the sensual enthralling Leander who knows all of Jenna's secrets - will change Jenna forever.

Maybe 3.5 Stars? 2.5 Stars maybe?

I don't know. I enjoyed it well enough for what it is: a shifter paranormal romance. Not always my thing, but it's one that the audio was easy to listen to.

I did kind of like the shifter world set up, though the vapor deal is kind of weird. And I don't buy that their natural shape is animal. They are born looking human. They don't shift until puberty or so. Even then, they spend 90% of their time in human form. Maybe more. If my natural shape were a big cat and

I decided to give this book a try since Amazon listed Shadows Edge as 'new and newsworthy'. I noticed righy away that the premise was awfully similar to Christine Feehan's Dark Carpathian and leopard series but hey, I was hoping to stumble across a hidden gem, a diamond among tales, the next big thing, or at least a new favorite author.
Um, yeah that didn't happen. Though not the worst floating around amazon, this book was definitely not newsworthy. The writing is average and the characters were

3.5 stars. Ok so to be fair, I've read this author's contemporary work and love it so much, I compared those to this book which I think is her first. And you can see a huge difference in the writing. In Shadows Edge the writing is over the top descriptive and way too flowery. Every single thing had a very colorful description and it was honestly distracting. I liked the story and will continue with the series when I'm in a PNR mood because I suspect she gets better with each book. This heroine w ...more

”Life is pain and everyone dies, but true love lives forever.”

Jenna's birthday toast from her mother every year after her father disappeared was unforgettable to say the least, but unfortunately was the basis of her parents’ tragic relationship. For most of her life, Jenna has been confused by her mother's repeated warnings and lives a solitary existence because of the paranoia they brought on. As the years passed without incident, the unexplained gave her no reassurance and only a false sense
Shadow's Edge was about a 3.5 star read for me. I enjoyed the story, but I grew a little frustrated with the main characters Jenna and Leander. Personally they did the mating dance a little too long and Jenna was exasperating in her behavior, driving Leander crazy. I had to chuckle at some of the descriptions. Since Jenna and Leander are Ikati, a type of panther shifter, they have enhanced senses. Jenna is special, she has enhanced abilities and has a very good sense of smell so she worked as a ...more

For years, Jenna has been on the run. She can remember when she was a little girl and her mother told her that she was special and when "they" came for her that she should be prepared. Only Jenna did not know who "they" were.

Jenna's twenty fifth birthday is approaching. While at the grocery store, Jenna feels a strong presence. It is he, the one with the piercing eyes. He has found her. Jenna knows she should run but she is tried of running. She is making a stand. Although, it could be the wron

I tried to think of one word I could describe this book in, but I couldn't choose just one...Exciting, on edge, dark, alluring and sexy. All these describe this awesome new addition to the paranormal romance/ urban fantasy genres.
I was sent this book to review, thinking it sounded interesting, but never expected it was going to become a new favorite series of mine. I was hooked after only a few pages.

It seems like with audio-books I find it easier to abandon a story that is not appealing to me. This started out with an interesting PNR feel but quickly became too obsessed with the sexual attraction between two fated mates and the annoying inner dialogue of a Jenna who was all over the place in terms of personality and character. I started wondering, repeatedly: 'When is this story going to go somewhere?'

I also have come to the realization that I can't listen to Justine Eyre as

This is a really good book. The mythology and the shifter abilities are really cool and interesting. Somewhat different. The two main characters, Jenna and Leander have a lot of tension and sexuality between them and Jenna, the female lead is very smart and strong. In fact she may be the hero of the story. The male lead, Leander is strong and smart too. Very alpha without being an ass. The thing that kept this book from being a 5 star for me is that it is extremely wordy. Way too man

Old idea different take

Yes a shifter story where the heroine doesn’t know she is a shifter and they come for her. Not an original idea, but the way it played out and the plot was interesting and sucked you in.

I started listening to the story and yet again it fit to a place where I had to see what would happen so I read.

I really didn’t like Leander. He was so confusing to me and he seemed to change his mind on a whim. So unalpha like. I also got confused that if he was the alpha why did he need

I loved JT's Wicked Games series and jumped on this foray into shifters and paranormal when it showed up my Prime Reading account. The story has many of the elements I really enjoyed in Wicked Games: a strong, determined heroine who turns the tables on the alpha-male hero; super hot chemistry between the hero and heroine; a well-paced suspenseful plot; very steamy adult content.

Unfortunately, the shift paranormal seems to impact the smooth prose I experienced in her other books. Although set in

This is the world of the Ikati. Never heard of it? That’s because it’s a secret world, one that is isolated from the human world, and rarely touches it. It’s also one of my very favorite worlds to read about and immerse myself in. J.T. Geissinger has imagined a world where panther shifters have a secret society and live in secret bastions in different part of the world.
Jenna is anything but a typical American girl. She is alone in a world where she is clearly different. She has spent her life hi

So when I started this book, I had no expectations. The premise was good but it started off a bit rocky. I got pulled out the story several times in the beginning because the author continuously shifted POVs very often. The timeline also had me confused at first. Once I settled into the story, everything shifted and I began to enjoy the characters and the way the story unfolded. Jenna is a strong character and I appreciated the fact that the author didn't try to make her fall for Leander and los ...more

Liked this book a lot. Jenna and Leander aww perfect couple! There were moments I wanted to soccer punch the heroine but in the end she came through. Lool

Looking forward to see where the rest of the series takes us.

I'm a big fan of Geissinger's but this was the first PNR of her's that I've read. I think it might be her debut novel but I'm not sure. Even so her wonderful writing skills are evident in this book.

In SHADOW'S EDGE we're introduced to a new type of panther shifter world. I really enjoyed this original take on the subject. The unique mythology was different yet easy to understand and follow.

I am always leery when an author sends me an email asking if I will review their book. I am just not always sure if it is something that will fit in with my style and I do get some very strange requests at times. However, when J.T. approached me about Shadow’s Edge I read the summary and was very intrigued. It sounded like it fit in perfectly with the genres I love to read so I agreed to review it.

I am so glad I trusted my gut with this book, because it was awesome! It is a new take on shifters

My English review

I confess I didn’t know what I could expect when I started this book, I was a little anxious to have the same story as the Drakon series by Shana Abé. Indeed, the two books have a lot in common. A species who can shift in creatures or vapor, a world built far from Humans, some hunters who will do everything to kill them, a young woman living out of this community they want back. Well, a lot of elements I was puzzled about. But once in the story, I confess I d

Okay where to begin with this review.... I know, the crayola box! I have never in my life read a book with with so many color descriptions. Not kidding, not exaggerating. I did a search for a few colors in my kindle iPad app.

The Color Honey/Honeyed got 18 results, a few for example: "honey bronzed skin", "thick honeyed waves", "cas

I really enjoyed reading this story. It was easy to read, exciting and suspenseful at times. I loved the romance in this book also. I give the book 5 stars because it is awesome and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great paranormal read this summer.

I like the twist to the shifter angle in this story. Instead of werewolves this a panther story. Some of the stronger shifters can even shift into other things. There have been famous Ikati throughout the world history including Cleop
All Things Urban Fantasy
A concentrated dose of romantic fantasy and sexy threat, SHADOW’S EDGE blends an old school romance “backed into a corner” plot line into a more modern urban fantasy setting. Jenna Moore’s otherworldly gifts have always come at a price, first the breakup of her family, then a lifetime of secrecy, and finally imprisonment in a shapeshifter enclave. This give and take narrative kept me titillated and engaged and while the hero and heroine don’t hold many surprises, the supporting cast breaks a few ...more
