Annihilation Road: Who Deserves to be Loved?

I knew I would write Savage’s story, but I thought I would only write it for myself. And then I wrote Annihilation Road . Savage’s story was so big I realized right away it would expand over two books.



Savage has known tragedy, pain, grief, yearning and brotherhood. He was turned into a sadist by the men and women who trained him as a child. He learned to take the pain. He learned to give pain. They rewired his brain and his body until he knew there was no going back for him. His value had to do with what he could do for his brothers and sisters in Torpedo. And what he could do to those who harmed children and women and those he cared about.



What Savage couldn’t imagine, but what I already knew was true, is that he deserves love. Regardless of his sins. Regardless of his own opinion or belief. Savage had his own set of rules. Honor. And the part of him that was redeemable called out in what he thought were the final moments of his life and he found himself face to face with a woman unlike any other.



Seychelle had her own special gift. Not just the psychic gift she was born with. Her gift was compassion, empathy and love. This woman was exactly what Savage needed. Desired.



For being such a scary and violent character, she brought out the best in Savage. Made him a better man.

Sometimes your past changes you in ways that can never be put right. Savage is broken and can’t be fixed in a lot of ways. Seychelle wasn’t there to fix him. She was there to love him. Because she was that strong. And because Savage deserved it.

The Goddess Card: Dark Tarot

In Dark Tarot we find that Adalasia comes from an ancient family. Her heritage includes a powerful, magical deck of tarot cards handed down from mother to daughter for centuries. Rumored to be the first such deck of cards, these antique cards hold a decidedly feminine power. Soon, even the ancient Carpathians begin to understand exactly how powerful this line of powerful women are. One touch…and the cards react to these ancient men. What will their future hold? What will Adalasia’s future hold? And why is the blood infused into the cards so familiar to Sandu?



I’ve had this idea for tarot cards for some time now. This deck holds Italian decoration and the history dates back so far that even with the stories told from mother to daughter there are lost secrets that must be found.


The Goddess card represents the feminine power of these cards. This card is part of the deck but not in the way most people who read tarot would recognize. It does something altogether different but exceedingly important. She is an anchor. A seat of power. Only those taught to use this deck understand her purpose.



I wanted to show just how strong, powerful and loyal women are and have always been. This represents hundreds of women who have held the power of the cards, infusing it with their own power. These women have a purpose that is both dangerous and necessary.

I want women to celebrate their heritage and their strength. I want women to embrace their own power and appreciate those women who lifted them up to support them and handed down history one woman at a time.

Dark Tarot – Something New and Dark

Dark Tarot is the 35th story in my Carpathian series and I am excited to say it is a game-changer in many ways. This book introduces us to an entirely new concept that I hope readers will be excited about as well.







With villains and beings we’ve not heard of before but that dovetail into the Carpathian mythos so naturally that it feels like it has always been meant-to-be. The fact that this brings in some of the strongest women and some of the most dangerous villains is just the beginning of why I think readers will love this story.
If you love the monastery ancients, you’ll be happy to hear that several make the quest with Adalasia and Sandu around the world. Will we learn about their fate through the cards? Maybe. LOL Will we learn more about them? Yes. Will there be some funny moments? What do you think? LOL







And if you love the older characters and want to revisit them you’re going to enjoy how many we actually get to catch up with. I have wanted to tie up loose ends with some characters and storylines for quite some time and this book made it easy for me to naturally address those issues in a way that made me both satisfied and very happy.



You don’t have to understand tarot cards at all to enjoy this book. My heroines have always had some kind of psychic talent and Adalasia’s is tied to tarot cards. For those of you who love tarot cards or the idea of them, they are fun and the artwork is amazing.

Sandu and his brethren are about to find themselves surprised in so many ways by something new and dark.

The Art of Dark Tarot

Some books are a work of art because of the words inside them. They make you feel and reflect and learn. Dark Tarot is a love story. It’s a story of family, of loss, of discovery. It’s a story of friendship. We visit old friends in a way we’ve not done since Dark Celebration and I love that feeling of nostalgia as we travel all around the world to see them.











Dark Tarot’s cover is absolutely stunning. When I held the book in my hands and looked at that cover it was a feeling hard to describe. I’m so proud of this book on so many levels. The cover was designed by Kristin del Rosario and I think it’s one of the most beautiful covers I’ve ever seen. She did an amazing job with the cover which adds to the artistic flair of the overall presentation of the book.



It doesn’t stop there. Inside the book is more original art. The Baker Sisters, Mercedes and Melissa, created these amazing tarot cards exclusively for me and for Dark Tarot. They did the entire Major Arcana of the tarot. There are 23 cards, which means there are 23 chapters, starting with zero – The Fool. It ends with a very special card that you may recognize from the book trailer, the tote or some other promo pictures we’ve put out – The Goddess card. I’ll do a separate blog about her later. She is not part of the original tarot deck as most people know it.

Family, Community and Love - Lightning Game

Lightning Game was a joy to write. I love research and find the science of lightning and what scientists hope to achieve with lightning is fascinating. I love mystery and there’s a touch of that in Lightning Game as well. But as most of you know I really love writing about family and community which this has in so many ways. The people of the Appalachian Mountains are a very close-knit and caring group of people who have their own ways of living. The community that Rubin and Diego were raised in has its own secrets and their own ways of doing things.











Lightning Game is about love. The love of brothers. Rubin and Diego are close and their dynamic as brothers has many layers to it. Together they are unstoppable and even more dangerous than when they’re on their own. If you have siblings that you’re very close with you know what you’d be willing to do for them. You would not want to come between these two brothers. But they are also caring and sometimes quite hilarious.

All of my novels are about romance and finding that one person who is “your person”, your soul mate. Jonquille was perfect for Rubin. She was smart and as dangerous as the two brothers. In some ways she was more dangerous. She was smart, too. As she grew to love Rubin she knew she would have to win over Diego because he was so protective of Rubin.



Lightning Game is about many things and one of those things has to do with how we let people into our lives and how close we allow them to be. There are layers of love to this story and I hope readers enjoy all of it.

The Rhythm of Trust…A Melody of Love: Dark Song

Dark Song is meant to be a beautiful love story that reminds us that we are all vulnerable at some point and need to trust someone. I’ve always felt that trust and love are tightly intertwined, and I wanted to show that with Elisabeta and Ferro’s story.




Elisabeta was a prisoner for years hidden away from, not only the Carpathians, but the world. The only constant in her life was her tormentor. But she was strong enough to survive and not let her horrible experience make her bitter or cruel. Her heart, her light, her goodness would not only save her, it would save the lifemate who’d fought for centuries to remove evil from the world. Even though she was in a weakened state when they rescued her she was still strong in mind, heart and spirit. But she needed help. She knew nothing of the modern world. She was very young when she was taken. Now she would have to put her life and her heart into the hands of a very dangerous man.




Lifemates are two parts to one soul and they are created specifically for one another. Ferro had killed vampires for centuries. The darkness called to him and nearly consumed him until he found her. Instead of just claiming her and taking what was his he knew instinctively that he needed to earn her trust…and her love. He wanted to be everything she needed just as she was everything to him. That would require patience and awareness and all the discipline he had.

Together Elisabeta and Ferro work to find their way to each other and in the world as a couple. It’s a sweet, sensual romance that shows just how much someone is willing to sacrifice or overcome in order to have the greatest gift of all.

The Making of the Dark Melody Trailer

I thought we could celebrate the release of the new cover for Dark Melody by taking a trip back to 2003 together.

COS Productions who created the book trailers for Dark Melody did a “behind the scenes” articles many years ago. The article is no longer available, but they sent it to me to use in order to celebrate the re-issue and beautiful new cover for Dark Melody. I hope you enjoy it!

For those of you who read Christine Feehan’s Dark series this is going to rock your world! Dark Melody is much different than the other Dark books and as a fan myself, I have to say that this is my personal favorite. I couldn’t stop thinking about it even after I finished reading it.

The book meant so much to me after reading it that the teaser scheduled to be shot July 21st became a full blown Book Trailer . It was so hard to choose the scenes that would adequately share with all of the other Dark Series fans what this book promises to be. All the elements that we’ve all grown to love about this series are there, but there’s more. There is something in this that will touch your soul.


Finding the right actors was not an easy task. We needed someone who could adequately portray the sweetness of Corrine, and Terese Aiello was perfect for the part. In one scene, Corrine lays on a table dying with a helpless Dayan looking on. When she called out his name I got goose bumps. By the end of the scene I had teary-eyed crew and a scene that was worthy of this wonderful book.


This book brings back some beloved characters and the part of Gregori is played by actor Mark Alexander. Although not exactly matching the description of the original Gregori, Mark had an essence that was Gregori that transcended onto to film. Mark was great! Once we started talking about the scene and what was happening to his good friend “Dayan” and Dayan’s lifemate, Mark got so involved in the story he wanted to know why Gregori couldn’t just “save her” or “bring her over” himself. Mark hadn’t read any of the books, but I would be willing to bet that he has by now. He loved the fact that he was playing a beloved Carpathian and took the responsibility of his role very seriously.

The hardest role to fill was that of our hero, Dayan. We needed someone who could be a rock star, look lost and forlorn, and convince us that he had just found the love of his life and would be willing to die or her. We held two auditions looking for the right person. In the end, we found him…sitting next to me at the audition table. Circle of Seven Productions own Isaac Hirotsu Woofter . Isaac, as many of you know, played Aden in The Gemini Keys and will play Aden again in the upcoming release of The Brethren this fall. Isaac is also the Artistic Director of Circle of Seven Productions and many of you have met him at the various book conventions over the last few months. Isaac was introduced to Christine’s Dark Series when he joined us and saw Dark Symphony. He met and became friends with Mrs. Feehan, learning a great deal about the Carpathians and lifemates. Playing Dayan was very personal for Isaac and he really put himself into the character. Not only did he want to do this for Christine Feehan, but he wanted the fans to really feel and see the kind of love and longing the Carpathians are capable of. And let me tell you…he delivered!



The day was going to be a long one. We had a band, three actors, a full crew and enough extras to make the tavern scene look believable. Thanks to the Feehan family and many of the wonderful people of Lake and Mendocino County, we got our crowd and the filming began.

The band that Dayan plays with, in the book, is a local band that he jams with. We wanted to have music that would be unique and we found a band with a very original sound – Modalities. This band has a sound that is hard to describe, but great to hear. They are a cross between rock, world music, and hip hop. The band plays two songs during the trailer and is currently writing a song just for Dark Melody. The music will be made available soon. All the music in Dark Melody is original music by Modalities.


As a special treat, Christine makes a cameo appearance in the trailer. You may recognize other people as well if you look hard. Screen play writer and director, Sheila Clover English, Dark Symphony’s Antoinetta - Domini Stottsberry, Shadow Game stars Jen Miller and Jay Henderson all make guest appearances in the trailer. You may also recognize Circle of Seven “Behind the Scenes” cameraman, Jacob Henderson and Feehan family members, Denise Feehan and Brian Feehan. It was so much fun to have so many people come back to participate in such a big production. It was like a family reunion! Or…a Carpathian one…like the book.

Isaac had to learn to play the guitar in less than an hour, so our band consultant, Wayne Miller, gave him a quick lesson. No, he didn’t really play, but he learned where to place his hands.

The band played a few songs to warm everyone up and it was like a great big party!
