Getting Social
I attended the NOLA StoryCon event last weekend and it was so wonderful to meet and talk to readers. I wish I could travel to every state and meet everyone in person. But, since it's not likely that I can meet everyone, I wanted to share with you that I do participate in some online social media. So, we can "meet" in some way.
Obviously, I'm here on Goodreads. I love that I can do more long-form blogging here and talk about whatever feels fun to talk about. I do try to answer comments as often as I can. I also participate in the Q&A, so do leave me questions if you have them!

My online community is here- Christine
Feehan Online Community
Though it's not exactly the same as social media, I do have an online community on my website that you can easily sign up for and get "goodies" you can't get anywhere else. And I do read the posts sent to me and respond to them.
Here you get things early like the book trailers and first chapters. But, I also have content that is exclusive to the community.

I'm on Facebook here- Facebook
There is where you'll find more about my books, some contests, fun quizzes, that sort of thing. I'll occasionally put up more personal posts, but primarily we talk about books.

I'm on Twitter here- Twitter
I am on Twitter nearly every day. I enjoy it and I do respond to people who tweet to me, even if it's just a "like" or retweet. I put up fun graphics, talk about current topics, what's trending, my books, and to other authors.

I'm on Instagram here- Instagram
I'm relatively new to Instagram, but I really love it. It's so easy to put up photos. So, you may find some unique things on Instagram that you won't find on the other social media sites.

I'm on Amazon here- Amazon Author Page
If you use Amazon you can actually follow me there and get information about when my books will be released.
There are a lot of ways we can talk and learn about each other. And a lot of ways to find out about my books, or for you to let me know what you think of my books. I know it's not the same as meeting in person, but it's still fun!

Social Media Meeting Up – YOUR Way!
Anyone who knows me knows that I sincerely appreciate my readers. I answer my email, posts and requests for signed books. I do my best to do a little social media each day. I have my own online community where I give out “goodies” and interact on a more personal level. I try to be available as much as I can since I don’t travel a great deal.

I do a little bit, everywhere. I want to go to my readers where they are. It’s great to have readers come to my website, read my blog, interact in my online community, but I feel it’s important for me to do my best to be available where my readers are. That’s one of the reasons I blog on Goodreads instead of making my own personal blog on my website. Many of my readers are already on Goodreads, so it’s more convenient for them if I have my blog here. And for those who only like to go to my website, the blogs are forwarded there automatically.

I receive many emails via my website, which is easy enough to find- CONTACT
As a side note, that page also tells you how to get a signed book from me, or where to send snail mail.
I have a lot of questions sent that way.
Of course, I have a newsletter which I only send out when I have a book release- NEWSLETTER
I’m asked where people can find my books in chronological order, or if I have a list or catalog. I do! And I have a wonderful team who helps me to keep my website up to date. You can find that catalog here- CATALOG

My website was recently remodeled and I love it, but I don’t think people realize how many resources are there. Or how many fun things! I write up little news snippets about my books, which you can find on that book’s landing page. And of course my community gets a lot of “first to know” stuff and exclusives.
You can sign up for my free online community here-
ONLINE COMMUNITY
There are other places you can find me online. I try to reach as many online places as I have time for. I don’t know where you like to hang out online, but hopefully one of those listed below will be a good place for us to meet up!

Things That Go Bump in the Night – Horror Week
I love paranormal romance. I enjoy vampires, ghosts, shapeshifters but nothing too scary and certainly nothing gory. But, there are degrees of “Horror” in the horror genre that I enjoy, though most of it would be with a strong romantic element or perhaps humor.

I write about shapeshifters and vampires, military experiments and magic primarily because I love the freedom of writing paranormal. There is so much for the imagination. The only limits are the ones you put on yourself when you build a world that you’ll write in. And, you don’t have to be politically correct for the most part. For example, my Leopard shapeshifters have elements of Leopard behaviors when they’re in human form. So, they can be more aggressive, where a contemporary normal human male behaving that way would come across as mean or be rejected by most modern women. I love that, with my writing in the paranormal genre, I can do anything I can imagine.
I lean more toward sexy supernatural and less toward the scary horror. There are some movies that I never finished watching because they were just too scary for me.

Give me Dracula! And if we’re going to watch a movie please make it the version of Dracula with Gary Oldman and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It shows him as a beast in one scene and there is violence in the movie, but at no point do I forget that Dracula is influenced by love. It’s a love story.
What kind of horror do you like to read? Do you have a favorite horror movie or character that you enjoy?

If You Could Ask Me Any Question About Lethal Game …
I’m super excited to share that I’ve been invited to Goodreads in San Francisco! I’ll be there Tuesday February 11th and while I’m there I’ll be answering questions sent in by readers on Ask the Author! If you’d like to send in a question for me to answer you can. Just sign in to your Goodreads account and go to this LINK

On the 11th I’ll be answering those questions related to Lethal Game or the GhostWalker series.

I’ve never been to the Goodreads headquarters in San Francisco and I’m very excited and honored to be invited. I’m also very excited to have the opportunity to meet bestselling authors Casey McQuiston and Jasmine Guillory who will also be there!
Last week when I was in the Gallery Bookshop for the Lethal Game virtual signing I found Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston and The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory and of course I had to have them!

I just read Casey’s Red, White & Royal Blue and loved it! The characters are so well done and slow-building romance is sweet. You love them both so much you can’t wait for them to realize they love each other. It’s not an easy path and I liked the thoughtfulness the author puts into the story.
Today, I’ve started Jasmine’s The Wedding Party and so far I’m really enjoying it, too. It’s very well-written and I’m already hooked!
Lethal Game comes out on March 3rd and we’re leaving the bayou for San Diego, so we’ll have a change of scenery. And if you’ve watched the book trailer already you know we may be seeing someone from the other teams. Maybe more than one someone. Who knows? Okay, I know. I’m wondering who’s excited about potentially seeing other GhostWalkers?
Please send your questions to ASK THE AUTHOR before Feb. 11th!

The Love of Books: Celebrating Romance Week on Goodreads!
Share The Love Theme

It’s Romance Week and I thought it would be fun to find out more about what you love! I’ll share my favorite books, couple, movies and songs throughout the week and would love to hear what yours are!
Before we get started I hope you'll check out the article I contributed to-Starter Kit of Reads for Romance!
The Love of Books
I’ve been reading for as long as I can recall. My first romance book was-
The Harvester by Gene Stratton-Porter.
The first romance I ever tried to write was-
It was a mystery. The love story was really more of a crush story since I was only ten when I wrote this story. LOL
My favorite classic romance is-
Pride and Prejudice
A romance novel I would recommend is-
There are two that I’d recommend.
The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
And one I read just recently – Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
My favorite romance couple from a novel I did not write is-
Eve and Roarke from JD Robb’s In Death series. I know so many people love this couple and I’m one of those people. They are such a romantic and well-developed couple.
Why I love the romance between Malichai and Amaryllis because-
There’s this connection that clicks into place when you find that person who completes you. This couple have that.
One is strong in a way the other needs.
Malichai needed his own “Nonnie”. Someone who’d take care of him and be happy doing it. He needed to belong to someone he could trust completely. He needed someone to fight by his side.
Amaryllis needed something Malichai had in abundance, family. She wanted to belong. To have friends. She’d been denied things like tenderness and trust. As they learned more about each other, she found those things in Malichai.
They were a romance puzzle in a way. There were blanks that needed to be filled and together, each supplying the other’s missing pieces, they were a complete picture.

Please be sure to share YOUR answers with me!

Romance in Movies: Celebrating Romance Week!

Though I don’t watch a lot of television or movies, I do occasionally watch them. I’d really love some recommendations for RomCom movies with a happy ending!
My first romance movie/television series that I fell in love with was-
Pride & Prejudice the 1995 mini series with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle

My Top 4 Romance movies I’d recommend are-
The Holiday
The African Queen
The Last of the Mahicans
Moonstruck

Of all of my novels, which do you think would make the best movie? Best mini-series?

A Good Day at Goodreads!

As you know, I do all of my blogging here on Goodreads. I’ve been blogging here since 2016, sharing things about writing, books, personal things and talking about things I love. I love the ASK THE AUTHOR feature where readers can ask questions. One of the benefits to this feature is my ability to mark an answer as a “spoiler” so readers are warned ahead of time and won’t see the answer unless they click on it. I participate in the Kindle Notes & Highlights feature which is a way for me to discuss what readers found interesting in the book. All of these features invite communication and relationships which is exactly what I want with my readers.
I was contacted by a wonderful woman from Goodreads who asked if I’d like to participate in the Kindle Notes & Highlights program. I was told that the program helped interact with readers and I was on board with it!
I was invited by Goodreads to come to San Francisco to meet their staff and participate in an event with two other authors. As you know, I don’t travel very much anymore, but San Francisco is a drivable distance for me, so I said “yes”.

I knew there would be a Q & A session and we’d be asked questions posed by Goodreads readers. My editor, Cindy and my publisher’s Deputy Director of marketing, Jin, flew in from New York to be there. My team came with me and I met the other two authors who’d be attending.
Everyone was so kind, inviting and fun! I felt like I left there with a group of new friends! The staff there was so welcoming I wished I could have met more of them.
The other two authors were Casey McQuiston and Jasmine Guillory. Casey wrote the novel Red, White and Royal Blue, which I read and loved! Casey is young, sweet, intelligent and full of energy. Plus, she’s a dog lover! She’s also a terrific writer. I’m looking forward to her next book.

Jasmine Guillory is a fellow Californian and wrote The Wedding Party which was fun and who has an amazing hero I fell in love with! Jasmine has a sweet disposition that makes you like her immediately. I’m now totally hooked on her books. I look forward to the end of my workday when I can sit back and enjoy the circle of friends and what’s going on in their lives.
All three of us were put up on a platform in front of a live audience and interviewed by the amazing Mimi Chan of Goodreads.

Questions like “Why is Malichai recuperating in San Diego when the team has homes in the bayou, and does this mean team 3 is keeping an eye on him?” sent in by Gail via the ASK THE AUTHOR program on Goodreads. There are other questions I was asked and those will be shared via ASK THE AUTHOR.
The attendees and staff had their own questions plus they included a “Speed-round” of questions and talked about how all three authors were “risk takers in romance”.
The day seemed to rush by, all of it filled with fun, laughter and thoughtful questions and answers. I feel like Jasmine, Casey and I all bonded and that the entire Goodreads staff are my new-found friends.
You can see some of the videos that were taped HERE

Celebrating Mystery and Thriller Week on Goodreads!
Though the week is nearly over I didn’t want to miss a chance to celebrate one of my favorite genres.

As you know, I write romance, but my books are cross-genre, many of which are considered mystery or thriller.

As far as one of my own books as a mystery, I think Shadow Keeper was one of my favorites. You just don’t know who is after them or why and I think there’s a good twist to the story.

And I love Jonas and Hannah’s story in Safe Harbor. That had both mystery and suspense.

As far as mysteries go I love so many. I can easily recommend Laurie R King’s Mary Russel and Sherlock Holmes series. I love these books so much and each one is very unique. It’s historical with a brilliant woman, easily Sherlock Holmes’ equal, and his wife. I wish I could get everyone to read at least the first book in the series - The Beekeeper’s Apprentice, I’m sure you’d be hooked!

Another series I love is JD Robb’s In Death series. Eve and Roarke never disappoint! It’s in the near-future and Eve is a homicide detective with her husband Roarke who is a billionaire with a dark past.

Some thriller writers I read and recommend highly are –
Lisa Gardner is an amazing writer. She has a new D.D. Warren book out When You See Me. It came out a couple of months ago I think.

Karen Rose has several series that I love. Her villains are multilayered and scary as hell. She just started a new series based in Sacramento and it promises to be a fantastic read!Say No More Say No More will be out in August and the first book in the series is Say You’re Sorry, which I’ve already read.

As far as authors I would like to read more of it has to be Jon Land with his Caitlin Strong series. She’s a Texas Ranger and totally the kind of heroine I love! I’ve read some of Jon’s books, but they’re so good. I’d really like to read all of them.

An author I’d really like to try is Steve Berry. So may people love his Cotton Malone thrillers and I’d like to check those out.
Your turn! What mysteries or thrillers do you love to read? Who have you not read, but you’d really like to?

Goodbye 2022 and Hello 2023! Let’s Celebrate and have a Giveaway!

I just hit 50,000 followers here on Goodreads! I’m so excited! I’ve been on Goodreads since February of 2013. I’ve met and interacted with so many amazing readers. I’ve been invited to meet the wonderful people at Goodreads in San Francisco. I’ve met great people there. I’d like to give a special think you to Mimi Chan who has such enthusiasm and a true love of books, authors and readers.

First, let’s reflect a bit.

The year has just flown by. 2022 was a challenge.
I love that readers gave Savage Road a chance and that the book did even better than I expected. Thank you! The fact that this book hit so many bestseller lists just blew me away.
Phantom Game was so fun to write. I appreciate reader following along in this very different direction for the series. Just wait until you read Ghostly Game!
Shadow Fire took us to our first non-Ferraro hero – Eli! The arranged marriage trope is a favorite and this couple ended up such a power couple.
Red on the River was the next in my romantic thriller series. I learned a valuable lesson with that book – I am NOT a good card player. LOL
Dark Whisper allowed me to take some new turns with this series. I got to go back to the Lycans, which I really enjoy.
And then Leopard’s Scar was a surprise even to me! I thought I knew who I was going to write about and then two very new characters came out demanding their story be told first! LOL
2022 was special for a lot of reasons but for me I was extremely proud that this was my son, Brian Feehan’s, first book release- Harmony of Fire. I really enjoyed doing some promo together. We did interviews and went to Hawaii for an event. So much fun!

Now let’s look into the crystal ball toward the future!
I’m hopeful that 2023 will be even better.

Brian has a new book coming out Feb. 21st called Harmony of Lies. I’m so excited for him! He is now a USA Today bestselling author and I hope readers will discover him. His series is so different! And if you'd like a signed and personalized copy of Harmony of Lies you can find it at Gallery Bookshop!
My 2023 line up has new releases, re-releases with new covers and mass market releases!

Recovery Road is my first new release of the year. It will be out January 24th. This is Master’s book and it was a bit surprising for me as well.
Ghostly Game brings us back to Team 3 in San Francisco. I’ve never written a GhostWalker novel quite like this one and I’m so curious as to what my readers will think. That book will be out May 2nd.
Shadow Dance will be released Aug. 22nd. At least tentatively. When the release dates are this far out they are always subject to change. This book takes us to the New York Ferraros where Geno, the head of the family in New York, is our hero. Not to worry, you’ll still see some of our Chicago family.
Dark Memory is the next Dark/Carpathian novel, and it will be released, tentatively, Oct. 3rd. We’re still with the ancients. I’m about to start work on that book very soon.
I am hoping to attend some events this year but can’t really say which ones just yet.
For those of you who have been waiting for a new Carpathian Guide, we hope to that that up in 2023! If you've never seen the guide you can see it on my community. Sign up here.
If you’re still reading this rather long blog, thank you.
To celebrate the milestone 50,000 followers here on Goodreads I thought I’d do a giveaway here from my blog.

Comment which 2022 book you loved most or which 2023 book you’re looking forward to the most and that will put you into the random drawing for a prize. I’ll be drawing three names to receive signed books and one special winner is going to get an amazing gift basket!
I’ll do the drawing on Friday Jan. 6, 2023 at 0900 Pacific Time. I’ll post the name of the winners in the comments on Friday so be sure to come back and look to see if you won!
This is open internationally. Please only post one comment to enter.
Prize includes international translations as well as US and UK-
Dark Ghost - US
Shadow Fire - UK
Savage Nature/ Leopard- Drake - French
