Shadow Riders: Heroes, Anti-Heroes and Guys Who Just Need Their Ass Kicked Part 3 of 5

Chicago
Shadow Series

They're everywhere, Chicago, San Francisco, New York, but these men from the new Shadow Series have something in common, they are fiercely loyal and extremely dangerous. Oh! And they can use shadows to transport themselves to any destination, which comes in handy when you're an assassin.

A friend told me she thinks they're Boondock Saints meets The Sopranos, but with paranormal and romance mixed in. And though I'm not sure The Sopranos is exactly hitting the mark, there is something mafia-like about them. There's a hierarchy, assigned jobs within the family, no one really knows how they make all that money and there's just something not quite right about who things just happen to you if you cross them.

These men are very careful. Their playboy lifestyle keeps in them in the paparazzi's eye and every starlet, politician and high-level entrepreneur wants to be in their favor...or their bed.
description

Each have been sent away for specialized training. They all have their own secrets. Assassins, who kill without remorse. Their lives are too dangerous for love. Unless they find a woman willing to accept who and what they are. They must be very careful in who they choose because the consequences are harsh. If she refuses him once they have bonded he loses his ability to ride the shadows and she loses her memory.

I love stories about quiet men who hide unfathomable power. The men of the Shadow Series are those powerful men. But they won't keep quiet if you betray them or someone they care about. Do that, and you'll not even have the shadows to hide in.

Janice Sounds like a fun series. Shadow riders remind me of Carpathian males that ...if real, I'd stay away from.

Janice I'm like a sunflower that needs the sun, so I like to stay out of the shadows, and...the dark.

Simply Love Book Reviews I just finished Shadow Rider and absolutely loved it!!! It's a refreshing new world full of sexy alpha anti-heroes, strong women and an amazing cast of secondary characters.

Janice I haven't yet tried the GhostWalkers series, and have only skimmed the Leopard series, but the new Shadow Riders series sounds even more intriguing to me. Also, being North American...and knowing that wild jaguars used to live in the American Southwest (Arizona, as late as 1901) and Florida, I hope to see more about the jaguars in the Dark series. Surely, there were more...good...male jaguars besides Luiz.

message 14: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Oh a new series! If these guys/gals are anything (or similar)like our Carpathians, then I better get on the roll and check it out!

Janice I just read the excerpt to Shadow Riders last night , and I'm sure I'll love that series...almost...as much as I love the Dark series.

Janice Just bought 2 copies of Shadow Riders today. Had to "beg" my local Barnes & Noble to get them out...they did, then...most likely, displayed the other copies after I left the store.

Krissys Bookshelf Reviews Shadow Riders was a good read.

Janice I'm loving Shadow Riders, and am ready for the next one. I already like Emmanuelle, but I'd still plan to stay out of the shadows and the dark, so I won't run into her brothers, if...they were real.

Janice Waiting on the next book in the Shadow series...can't wait...

message 21: by Christine (new)

Christine Shadow Rider hit #3 on the New York Times! I am so thrilled. With it being the first book in a new series I wasn't sure how it would place. So THANK YOU to all of you who gave it a try!
