message 5: by Steve (new)

Steve What’s the average length of these books?

message 6: by Kaethe (new)

Kaethe Steve wrote: "What’s the average length of these books?"

So far the average is 431, which isn't very helpful. Last year I apparently read 383 books at an average length of 153 pages, which is more books and a lower average than other years. That was interesting: I haven't ever paid attention to the Year in Books before.

Sue Wow! What a goal. Very impressive.

message 8: by Terri (new)

Terri Kaethe, Counting my blessings and wishing you more. Have a prosperous New Year and Happy reading :.))

Kaethe Sue wrote: "Wow! What a goal. Very impressive."

Ha! You say "impressive", I say "not good at human interaction." It's all just cats and books.

message 10: by Sue (new)

Sue Someday we’ll have to do a buddy read again :-)

Kaethe Sue wrote: "Someday we’ll have to do a buddy read again :-)" We will! Have anything in particular in mind?

message 12: by Sue (new)

Sue Not at the moment but every once in a while I think something looks like it has potential. How about you?

message 13: by Kaethe (new)

Kaethe The only thing I can think of at the moment is The Library Book from Susan Orlean. Ever since GR removed my favorite feature I have a very hard time keeping track of what I want to read. :(

message 14: by Sue (new)

Sue I have read that already. I’m sure you will like it. I would like to read another of her books at some point, maybe Rin Tin Tin or there is another that I can’t remember right now.

message 15: by Kaethe (new)

Kaethe Sure, I would read Rin Tin Tin or something else by her. I love her stuff enough that I wouldn't mind reading something again even.

message 16: by Sue (new)

Sue Maybe later in the spring? Would that work for you?

message 17: by Kaethe (new)

Kaethe Sounds great. In the meantime if you see something else that looks tasty let me know. These days everything I'm reading is fiction, infectious disease, or Edward Gorey, but who knows what I'll get up to next.

message 18: by Sue (new)

Sue I know what you mean. I have been reading mysteries since the beginning of the year but I also have an African memoir going, Barracoon by Zora Neale Hurston and a Canadian historical fiction from a GR author. As always, a mix. If I encounter anything that looks good for us to team up on, I’ll let you know too.

message 19: by Kaethe (new)

Kaethe It's a plan! Yay.

message 20: by Sue (new)

Sue Yes!

message 21: by ✨ Gramy ✨ (new)

✨ Gramy ✨ Congratulations on exceeding your reading goal for 2019! 👍

message 22: by Kaethe (new)

Kaethe Thank you! This may be the only year I didn't change it at any point.
