A really lovely and beautifully illustrated picture book about the importance of looking beyond appearances and trying to understand instead of fear difference. (2+)

EDMOND: THE THING is just the book we all need right now. From sharing cookies to building bridges, this delightful tale of two friends opening up to someone different shows readers that kindness is far more powerful than fear.

Enjoyable though wordy and pressed a bit on the lesson of the story. Marc Boutavant's illustrations are always a treat.

Clever look at fear of "the other" and the unknown, but the ending leaves one wanting more.

A very sweet and colorful story about not judging people on appearances.

This is a silly story about friendship and fear of the unknown. I liked the story line a lot, but felt that the book's design did not do the story justice.

This is the story of Edmond, a squirrel, and George, an owl, who one day discover a creature they’re unfamiliar with and call it the Thing. Because this is such a strange and unknown creature to them, they become scared.

This fear pushes Edmond and George to flee and later George puts up a sign forbidding the Thing from trespassing. The sign made me feel really bad for the Thing and I’m actually a little disappointed the authors included that passage since it’s such a sudden and extreme action.
