Untitled (Sandcastle, #2) is apparently most likely released 2021 but on the page it writes 2023. Apparently the contract / plan had changed or something. Can someone please change the date on the page... Thank You.

Unfortunately, this list was attacked last night, and it looks like dozens of books were deleted. There is a log if you check the edit history, so we should be able to add them back. For anyone not following the situation, there are more details here....

For those who are interested in helping rebuild the 2019 list, which was totally lost, a new list was just created...YA Novels of 2019
Thanks, Rachel. The new 2019 list is looking pretty good so far. We're at 586 books, and I think we were at 630 on the original list, so that's some good progress.

Thanks for the heads up! I removed that one along with The Three Privileges and A Sky Beyond the Storm, which are 2020 releases.
Sarah J. Maas should not be removed from this list unless the publisher or author specifies that the series is no longer YA.

Is that information available to the public? Librarians should not delete books unless there is confirmation directly from the author or publisher. We had a censorship brigade come through a few years ago and create a lot of trouble, which is why books are not to be deleted unless they are totally miscategorized. Any Librarian who removes books due to personal dislike will have their Librarian privileges revoked by Goodreads and possibly their entire account deleted. They are very strict on that.

I didn't know that, but I swear on all of my books that I love the ACOTAR series. However, I read it in fifth grade, and I don't want other young girls to make the same mistake. The content was really mature for my age, and I don't think it is something someone in 5th grade should be reading.
But I read it, thinking it would just be sunshines and rainbows in YA, but I found out (very quickly) that I was waaaaaay off. That's the only reason I think it should be removed - so others don't make the same mistake I did.
Bianca (The Ultimate Fangirl) wrote: "Isn't the ACOTAR series NA? Why is it still on the list?"This problem came up a little while ago, look at the comments above.
Bianca (The Ultimate Fangirl) wrote: "Isn't the ACOTAR series NA? Why is it still on the list?"I thought so too, but there is no evidence of it, so they won't remove it.
we all have different interpretations of what content is 'suitable' for young adults & teens so to keep it fair we can only go off the official stance of publishers. i hope you can understand that.
Uhhh, I would remove A Court of Silver Flames from this list- it is adult, not YA. Sarah has said on multiple occasions how this book deals with some pretty adult themes. They've even moved the other books in this series to the adult fantasy section of the bookstore.
Reminder that Sarah J. Maas should not be removed from this list unless there is *direct confirmation* from the author or publisher that her book is not being released as YA fiction.
A Court of Silver Flames is priced at 28 dollars. That is an adult price. It is no longer being released as YA. In fact, if you go on Edelweiss, the book has a banner that reads "The bestselling series moves to Adult!" I personally would consider that direct confirmation from the publisher.https://www.edelweiss.plus/#keywordSe...
The Crown of Gilded Bones (173) is adult. The first book in the series won last year's adult romance goodreads choice category.
