The main character is 12, and it was sold as Middle Grade. It's Amie's MG debut.

Oh... thank you very much. I was confused because this book was on "YA NOVELS OF 2020" as well.

Rainbowheart Removed several non-2020 releases.

message 6: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Hey, Jasmine, were you going to create the Middle Grade Novels of 2021 list?

There have been several announced by now.

It is up and added to the links, thank you for the reminder!

message 8: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Awesome! I'm off to add books. :)

message 9: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Removed I Can Make This Promise, which got an earlier 2019 release.

message 10: by Laina (new)

Laina SpareTime The Sound of Stars is YA!

message 11: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Thanks for the heads up, Laina. I removed The Sound of Stars.

message 12: by Laina (new)

Laina SpareTime No worries.

I think Tristan Strong is out in 2019? It's on both the 2019 and 2020 lists.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Looks like Tristan Strong Punches A Hole In The Sky belongs on the 2019 list; its publication date is listed as October 15, 2019.

message 14: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Seems as though it got an earlier 2019 release. I went ahead and removed it from this list.

message 15: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x Removed:
The Fowl Twins. 2019 release.

message 16: by Janine (new)

Janine Cemetery Boys is YA.

message 17: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Thanks for the heads up! I removed Cemetery Boys.

message 18: by Janine (new)

Janine The Mystwick School of Musicraft seems to be a unique case; the audiobook came out in September 2019, yet the print edition came out in January 2020. Does it belong here or on the 2019 list?

message 19: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Good question. I'd say 2019, but I'm just one person. What does everyone else think?

message 20: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x i'd say 2019, unfortunately. unless it's a mistake? and the release date was pushed back but the record not corrected

message 21: by Janine (new)

Janine rachel ☾ wrote: "i'd say 2019, unfortunately. unless it's a mistake? and the release date was pushed back but the record not corrected"

The book wasn't delayed, it's that the audiobook came out first as an audible exculsive before the print release.

message 22: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x then my vote is for it to be removed. the original pub. date is clearly 2019.

message 23: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Removed a few pre-2020 releases, along with Queen Bee Rules, The World Between Blinks, and Hazel Bly and the Deep Blue Sea, which got pushed to 2021.

message 24: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Removed Blood and Fire. This is a 2014 release. I have no idea why 13 people all of a sudden decided to spam it to the top of the list. Also deleted Britfield and the Lost Crown, which is from 2019.

message 25: by Laina (new)

Laina SpareTime 41, Saving Fable, seems to have been published in 2019

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads That looks to be correct. Will remove.

message 27: by Laina (new)

Laina SpareTime 172 The Best Worst Summer also seems to be scheduled for 2021

message 28: by Laina (new)

Laina SpareTime As is 293, the Nightmare Thief.

message 29: by Laina (new)

Laina SpareTime Aaaaand so is 293 Delphine and the Silver Needle

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Where on the list are they?

message 31: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Good grief! The same person went crazy with non-2020 releases. I think I got all of them. Let me know if I missed any.

I also removed The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes because it's YA, not middle grade.

message 32: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Got it, thanks!

I also removed The Best Worst Summer, The Nightmare Thief, The Thirteenth Hour, The Legend of Auntie Po, and Delphine and the Silver Needle, which are now 2021, plus Rialto, which was pushed to 2022.

message 33: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart It shouldn't be. The Tower of Nero is middle grade.

message 34: by Ian (new)

Ian Comstock Naruto appears three times on this list. Also, the item numbering needs to be fixed.

message 35: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Castellano A Night Divided by Jennifer Nielsen is 2015 (#187)

message 36: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Castellano Someone has put Bartimaeus Stroud's Lockwood series all over the 250+ positions. Those are not published this year.

Lisa Castellano Did #335 Manifester ever come out in 2020?

message 44: by Rainbowheart (new)

Rainbowheart Thanks for pointing that out! I did some cleanup on this list and removed all titles that were delayed from their original 2020 release. Manu, Starfish, Miraculous, Manifester, Five Wolves, Adorable Empire, Spin with Me, Haven and the Titans, Seven Minutes of Magic, Wild Daughters of Ares, Tests of Faith and Patience, Doodles from the Boogie Down, The Fate of Freddy Mitchell, and Untitled by Jack Cheng, Ian Johnstone, Mariko Nagai, and Lindsay Eagar, which were pushed to 2021 or later or have release dates that are currently unknown. Also removed All Thirteen for being non-fiction and a couple of pre-2020 releases and adult books.

message 45: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Castellano 300 Minutes of Danger was really published in the US in 2020. The book shown is the 2015 Australian edition.
