Jenn Bishop is the author of the middle grade novels 14 Hollow Road and The Distance to Home, which was a Junior Library Guild selection, a Bank Street College Best Children's Book, and an Amazon.com Editor's pick. She grew up in New England, where she fell in love with the ocean, Del’s frozen lemonade, and the Boston Red Sox before escaping to college at the University of Chicago. After working as a teen and children’s librarian, she received her MFA in writing for children and young adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Jenn currently calls Cincinnati, OH, home. I always like to stop my writing sessions at a spot where I know what can happen next, so that when I start writing the next time, I am already eager to see what happens and know where I'm going. The truth is, though, for first drafts, all that matters is getting words down on the page. You can make everything better later, just get your ideas down. There is no correct way to write a first draft -- whatever works for you. :)(less)
