I think the books after 2000 are comparatively new-ish so reading them might be more fun for someone young who like reading 21st century books even though the premise may be old, it gives a weird kind of satisfaction that we are reading new books. Classics are called Classics for a reason, they are evergreen and everyone should read them but these new authors also deserve our love.

Cedric wrote: "I think there should be more books on this list. So many good ones!"u may b right! There are still some cool books missing. But I think acc. to the 2 main criteria of the list that is
-for 10-15 yrs
-after 2005.
Almost 80 percent of the good and popular books have been covered..I hope people vote for more books to make this a better list.
thank u 4 voting! :)

As a reader... What's with the numbers and grammar?
J K Rowling and Rick Riordan owning this list. It's good to know that teens are going through the Fantasy route.

I love J.K. Rowling, Rick Riordan, Eoin Colfer, and Angie Sage. Septimus Heap and TodHunter Moon are great series, and they DO deserve to be famous and on this list, as do all of the other books.

I know. I always expect readers to take the time to type out entire words, because it even takes less brain power than having to think about, "How can I type this more quickly?"

I understand the Anime craze, but couldn't we be able to sort by genre and age? I'm new to the site, so maybe I'm just not able to navigate this well. I'm trying to find some good books for 11-12 year old girl. I'm not girly-girly, so I'm trying to find mysteries, historical fiction, etc to get her interested in. She's not into sci-fi, anime either.
I'm just going to say if you have the first 4 books of the Keeper of the Lost Series (& I'm not sure if you have book 1), there's the 5th book out & it's AWESOME!!!! It's called Lodestar.

Wings of Fire is an amazing series. It has strong female leads and, depending on her reading level, might be perfect for her. It can be a bit gory at times, but my (fairly mature) 7 year old brother listened to the audiobooks and loved them. The dragons (yes, the story is told by dragons) are funny and insightful, and they do have some crushes on each other or are actively in a relationship, but that’s the extent of it. It’s currently 14 books long, with the fifteenth coming out next March (eeeeeeeeeek), plus to prequelish things, 4 (5 coming out December 2021 eeeek) graphic novels, and a guide to writing and drawing (another guide is coming out next November)
