message 3: by Praj (new)

Praj Good luck, sweetie! May you have the most wondrous 2015!

message 4: by Annet (new)

Annet Wow, I admire that... 250 books. Good luck!

message 5: by karen (new)

karen thanks - happy year of books, everyone!

message 6: by Dana (new)

Dana that's not a challenge for you! i say 300!

message 7: by karen (new)

karen ha! this is where i started last year, and then i just kept raising it. 300 is bonkers.

message 8: by Laima (new)

Laima You can do it!

message 9: by karen (new)

karen i'm no melki!

message 10: by Dana (last edited Jan 01, 2015 05:36AM) (new)

Dana you got to 290 this year. 300 should be easy peasy.

edit: last year! not this year! happy new year!

message 11: by Laima (new)

Laima Melki started the one a day plan. At least you won't be behind tomorrow!

message 12: by karen (new)

karen hahah well, let's take it slow, shall we? i also had that nice fat month off of work this summer. if i get to have another major surgery this year with ample recovery time, maybe i will be able to rock 300.

message 13: by Dana (new)

Dana ok, well if surgery is the only way to get to 300 i'll accept a few less.

message 14: by karen (new)

karen but i have many expendable parts. i will have elective amputations - you would LOVE that.

message 15: by Dana (new)

Dana and what part do you find to be most expendable?

message 16: by karen (new)

karen my muffin tops, maybe. and the jiggly bits of my arms.

message 17: by Dana (new)

Dana ooh, i'd like this surgery too. maybe we can get a 2 for 1 deal.

message 18: by karen (new)

karen ha! i would whisper in the surgeon's ear just before - "she also wants her hands removed. no, seriously. do it."

message 19: by Dana (new)

Dana wow. both hands! that's pretty twisted, even for you! if anything, tell the surgeon to take my feet. then i won't have to turn the pages of my books with my toes.

gah, ok that's enough talk about amputation. i'm going to have nightmares.

message 20: by karen (new)

karen it's just a prank, dana! you could prolly get them glued back on with science and everything

message 21: by Warren (new)

Warren 250? That's like 2 books a week!

message 22: by karen (new)

karen yeah, i usually read three or four a week, plus i have an unhealthy addiction to monsterporn and a healthy addiction to the free tor shorts, and little novelty humor so that brings up the number to like 5-6. i like reading!

message 23: by V.demarcus (new)

V.demarcus There is obvious question comes in my mind after seeing you 2015 challenge...where do you work Karen? :D

message 24: by karen (new)

karen i work for NOOK, but i don't get to read at work, which is totally unfair. (:

message 25: by V.demarcus (new)

V.demarcus so, another obvious question come in my mind...would you double or triple your challenge if you get to read at work? :D

message 26: by V.demarcus (new)

V.demarcus All the best wishes in 2015! ;)

message 27: by Ronyell (new)

Ronyell Wow! 250 books! Good luck Karen!

message 28: by ❤ Jane ❤ (new)

❤ Jane ❤ So many!Good luck!

message 29: by BookCrazy (new)

BookCrazy WoW! Good luck and happy reading!

message 30: by Elaine (new)

Elaine See? I was going to put 120, but I thought That a lofty goal considering I have yet to read anything since the last thing I read. I how ever have absolutely no doubt that you can reach this goal

message 31: by karen (new)

karen i wish there was an option to set your reading goal to "all of them."

message 32: by Elaine (new)

Elaine karen wrote: "i wish there was an option to set your reading goal to "all of them.""

Yes, that would be the best goal.

message 33: by karen (new)

karen someone would need to take over my rent for a year and bring food to me. and probably physically feed me so i wouldn't have to look away from the page.

message 34: by Elaine (new)

Elaine I'm trying to figure out if I can pull that off. Do you like kids? XD

message 35: by karen (new)

karen nope, but i DO like cats!

message 36: by Elaine (new)

Elaine Hrm... we have a problem then because I come with two kids.

message 37: by karen (new)

karen i guess that's more hands to help feed me!!

i thought you meant that you were going to also try to live my dream of sloth and reading-focus and were trying to pawn your kids off on me to raise while you lolled. but if you are coming here to feed me, i suppose i can overcome my fear of children. that's only fair!

message 38: by Elaine (new)

Elaine Ah! No I don't pawn them off. They are mine and mine to deal with, but they follow instructions and put away laundry so...they could be useful.

message 39: by karen (new)

karen well then

message 40: by Elaine (new)

Elaine Woo!

message 41: by DeeDee (new)

DeeDee 3kk good luck ^^

message 42: by M (new)

M it is not important how many books you will read what is important is that you learn how to think and make good life for your self.I wish best things for you.

message 43: by karen (new)

karen yes. thank you. you also.

message 44: by Erica (new)

Erica Ok. I think I've finished reading all your 2014 reviews...maybe. At least the ones that are there at this time.
I think.
I wasn't overly thorough, though, so I might have missed some.
At any rate, I'm starting on your 2015 books now! Maybe I will be caught up on reviews and AIFaFs by summer!

message 45: by karen (new)

karen hhahaha i will try to stop reading!

message 46: by Erica (new)

Erica karen wrote: "hhahaha i will try to stop reading!"

I'm pretty sure someone would hunt you down, tie you up, and force you to read if you tried to stop.
People depend on you and your books.

message 47: by karen (new)

karen i have already done my part! no more books!

message 48: by Erica (new)

Erica Like...there's a moratorium on books?
They've ceased to exist?
Or you just feel you've held up enough of us long enough and now it is time for someone else to do the work?
Yeah, that won't fly.
You're going to get kidnapped.
"It puts the title on the Nook" and all.

message 49: by karen (new)

karen HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

i need to get a plaque for my desk that says that

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* I love to read but sadly don't think I could ever reach 250
