if i keep reading 900 page books, neither will i!

i know - just barely. this has not been a good year for reading, for me. apparently i need a job and a daily subway commute to remember that i like reading.

don't give me stinkface! several of mine were monsterporn or picture books or tor shorts.... and some got marked as "read" even though i have them on exclusive shelves to prevent this, so i haven't technically even reached my goal yet.

wow! I'm up to 155 for this year and I think that's the highest total in my adult life!! (and my 155 includes Tor shorts and a few picture books and graphic novels)

for me, it's the lowest i've had since i started tracking these things on goodreads. and my fast reading is only because it's pretty much all i do. but this year had so much sulking and pouting and weeping in it, i guess it cut into my reading time. there has been much wallowing. and i'm still about thirty reviews behind. thumbs down, 2015!!

i know!!! i know!! and i know it kinda sounds like some asshole "how will i get all these hundred dollar bills in my wallet?" complaint, and i'm not trying to be like that at all, but i kinda feel like i wasted a lot of this year bogged down in personal defeatist moping and if i don't scold myself for it then it's gonna keep happening, you know? if i don't kick my ass a little over it, i'm just gonna get worse and worse. i need to be less depressed and more proactive and make things better for myself.

no doubt. i might put the soundtrack on while i write reviews. it is inspirational.
