Imagine this: You are socializing with some college friends and someone asks you "What's your major?".
Not strange, right?
But then, when you answer "Math" there is this moment of *silence* and *more awkward silence*
See, for most people, when you say the word math, here's what happens in their brain:
Well, by now you have two options:
Either you spend some minutes explaining that in reality math is all around us, forever ruining your social image, even with the awesome open line "math is used everyday: to count money, predict weather, even to prevent crime" from the TV show n3mbers (or that the math guy from the show is really hot)
or
You shake it off, doing some joke (not math-related) and change the subject.
Familiar? Yes? No?
Then this is the challenge for you: either to embrace your inner math geek or to finally face reality and beat the math monster.
DURATION: You set the pace
RULES & HOW TO:
- All book formats allowed (ebooks, audiobooks, graphic novels, paperbacks, etc.).
- Rereads are fine as long as you read the whole book.
- Choose one of the options below and set your score with Math from A to Z.
OPTION 1: As an A to Z challenge, using book titles with one or more words (or whose cover) are math related.
Example:
E -The Eight
M - Mortal Danger
OPTION 2:As an A to Z Spell-It-Out:Pick a math term (see message #2 for help) for each letter of the alphabet and read books with titles, series names, authors (first or last name), character (first or last name), that begin with letters that correspond to letter of the word you choose. You may ignore the indefinite and definite articles (a, an, the, etc.)
