Then I write an outline, scene by scene, omitting any parts that readers would skip over. Short chapters are great for that. I make sure I’m constantly putting in twists, never letting the reader get too comfortable or have too good of an idea what’s going to happen next.(less)

“Basically, I have two speeds.... Hostile or smart-aleck. Your choice.”
James Patterson, Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports

“Because what’s worse than knowing you want something, besides knowing you can never have it?”
James Patterson, The Angel Experiment

“Did you know that wasn’t me, the other Max?” I asked.
“Yeah.”
“When?”
“Right away.”
“How?” I persisted. “We look identical. She even had identical scars and scratches. She was wearing my clothes. How could you tell us apart?”
He turned to me and grinned, making my world brighter. “She offered to cook breakfast.”

Joyzi Thanks for accepting me as your friend^^

Larsan Maximum Ride is one of my favorite series. As you have probabley been told many times, you are an AMAZING author.

Maxine Mr. Patterson,
Maximum Ride is my bsolute favorite book. I've recomended it to all of my friends. I even named my dog total. I guess its partially because Max has basically the same name as me... but your writing is just amazing. No other book that I have ever read can match up with Maximum Ride. I find myself dreaming about the next book coming out. Thank you so much, and keep up the great work.

Dani Albertazzi Mr. Patterson,
When I read your books I feel like the characters are telling me the story themselves, and often I even mix up my own life with theirs. I'm positive I'm not the only one who feels like something has changed in me when I finish a book you wrote, like my whole perspective was altered. I just want to thank you for it, because it's a shock to realize how touching a simple sentence can be.
