RYSA WALKER is the author of the bestselling CHRONOS Files series. Timebound, the first book in the series, was the Young Adult and Grand Prize winner in the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards.

Rysa grew up on a cattle ranch in the South, where she read every chance she got. On the rare occasion that she gained control of the television, she watched Star Trek and imagined living in the future, on distant planets, or at least in a town big enough to have a stop light.

She currently lives in North Carolina, where she is working on her next series, The Delphi Project. If you see her on social media, please tell her to get back into the writing cave.

The type of fantasy I would lean toward is so close to science fiction that seems like cheating to give that answer. The CHRONOS Files series has bits of historical fiction mixed in as well, so that one is equally problematic.

Aside from these, the only other genres that interest me are mystery and horror, although I'd lean more toward psychological horror than the spewing artery type. Overall, I think my interests are pretty firmly in the realm of speculative fiction--that's what I tend to read, so I'm pretty sure that's what I'll continue to write.(less)

I'd say those are both more for a slightly younger demographic than Timebound, but I listened to the audiobooks for all of them and they were fun. Also Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. Good YA in general: I love the Legend series by Marie Lu. And if you want some non-YA time travel, The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (sadly, not available as an e-book) is one of my favorites. Oh--and an oldie but goodie, Somewhere in Time by Richard Matheson. I like the original title, Bid Time Return, better, but they changed it when the movie was made. It's a bit of a tear jerker, but still very good. And I need to stop now, or I'll go on all day... :)(less)

Sorry I missed this one! You may already have seen Time's Echo by now--if not, it's the Kiernan novella I'd been promising for ages. If you haven't read it yet, wait a few days longer--it will be on sale for 99 cents starting August 14th. And then Time's Edge will be out on October 21st!

Thanks again for reading!
