karen yeah, they don't mess around. it says i am ON TRACK! with zero books read. i'll take it.

message 2: by karen (new)

karen WE DON'T SEE ANY BOOKS READ BY YOU IN 2018.

it says.

message 3: by karen (new)

karen that is not sad at all! it's so much better than freezing your ass off in a corral with strangers to watch a glitterball descend. they don't even let you pee, alexandra. they don't even let you pee.

message 4: by karen (new)

karen i have never been once, and i have never felt the urge. seriously - have you been outside tonight? there's not enough alcohol in the world to keep me toasty out there. however, inside, there is much alcohol and now i get to drink it in my jammies with a book. old lady new year WOOT!

message 5: by karen (new)

karen ugh - you need to teach those dogs to use the potty. explain to them how cold it is - not for for man nor beast. of course, where my dad is, it is -37, so it could be worse. i can't even wrap my head around that. i like the cold, but not that cold. and not enough to stand out all night wearing a diaper amongst yelly strangers. i think if you toss a cherry or a lime in a diet coke it is the same as a cocktail. especially if you can dig up a tiny umbrella. it's more about presentation than composition.

message 6: by karen (new)

karen i mean, the new year baby wears a diaper, so at least it is in keeping with the spirit of the holiday? i assume all the boys just casually slip it out and pee in the street or a bottle since everyone is so packed in, the peen will be discreet. oh, and then the bottle doubles as a hand-warmer! urban survival tip #35! yeah, my dad moved up into the mountains of maine. he has snow 9 months outta the year. it's kind of awesome and majestic, but -37 is too too cold for me. even in my cozy onesie.

if you have silly straws, those work as well. at the very least, you can make a sugar or salt rim.

message 18: by Hilary "Fox" (new)

Hilary "Fox" You are off to an awesome start this year!

message 19: by FullyBooked (new)

FullyBooked How did you read 74 books already?

message 20: by karen (new)

karen well, i am reading 4 tor shorts a month, and one monsterporn a month, so those are just a handful of pages, and then one MG book a month - zoooom. and etc. i'm sure there are people who have already read a TON more than me - i haven't had anywhere near the time i used to have for reading.

message 21: by Janice (new)

Janice Your goal of 275 books for the year is amazing! I’m a little more than on track with my goal of 30. I just read one of your reviews and added the book to my list for my reading pleasure. Tip of my hat to you Karen.

message 22: by Sophie (new)

Sophie This goal is insane! How do you get through so many books? What are tor shorts, monsterporn and MG?
I’m pretty chuffed to have read 31 of my 52 book target this year! But I do colour and have started cross stitch too which takes up what could be reading time. Think if I lived on my own I might manage 100 in a year as no tv!
