Joe Perrone Jr As the Twig is Bent
This a terrific thriller that's doing gangbusters on Amazon.com

message 2: by Joe (new)

Joe Perrone Jr If you have a Kindle, why don't you download a sample. I think you'll find it quite interesting. Otherwise, it's available in paperback, and Amazon has it with the "look inside" feature, so you can explore it that way. Let me know what you think. I just published a sequel, also, called Opening Day. You might like that too, and it's on sale for only $7.96 in Kindle and $10.76 in paperback.

I vote for TERROR ON THE BEACH by Peggy Holloway.

message 5: by Judy (new)

Judy I have read SO many of these books before I discovered Goodreads, and so many are favorites--how can you pick just one or four.

message 6: by Cathy (new)

Cathy DuPont Great list!

message 7: by Beverly (new)

Beverly Biographical novel of Charles "The Origin"
Darwin by Irving Stone

If you're interested in Darwin,
this is the best based on fact
book written.

Donadee's Corner I'm like Judy, I read about half these before I got into GR and only put a few on my read list. I need to up date my list, I guess. I just don't know how to vote for one or even four they are all so darn great!

message 9: by Razz (new)

Razz "Six Bad Things" (Hank Thompson, #2) by Charlie Huston; " Skeleton's Knee and The Scent of Evil by Archer Mayor; The Eye of the Leopard by Henning Mankell; "When She Was Bad" and "Split Image" by Ron Faust; Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee; "The Sculptress" by Minette Walters; Down in the Flood by Kenneth Able , "The Last Good Kiss" by James Crumbly are just a few that have been some of my favorites.

message 10: by Shirley (new)

Shirley First Night of Summer A gritty, must read psychological thriller/ mystery. Disturbing yet relevant---and full of emotion. Not for the faint of heart. I found it to be a touching story where good triumphs over evil. Great ending!

message 13: by Richard (new)

Richard Irwin I'm looking for a book I read years ago, & have forgotten both the title, & author. The USSR has conquered the US, without firing a shot, as several of our defense systems have proven useless. The main character is a translator in the White House; he gets recruited by the Thomas Jefferson underground (set up before the capitulation), which hasn't given up. They manage to break a nuclear sub, with ICBM's, free & get it safely to sea; this changes the balance of power, since the Russians (who had already decided that they'd bit off more than they could chew, & just wanted out) knew that this time the sub Would fire! It gave them a way to save face.

Does anyone know this book? Thanks!

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads You might want to try the group What's the Name of This Book? (Sorry, not familiar with the book you want, myself.)

message 15: by Richard (new)

Richard Irwin Thanks, Susanna. Is that group on Goodreads?

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Yes, it should be. Try "Groups," at the top of the page.

message 17: by Neil (last edited Mar 04, 2017 07:45AM) (new)

Neil Currie The Stanstead Incident by Neil Currie A reception at the prime minister’s residence in Ottawa, a luncheon at a country house south of Paris, a meeting in a White House office and an encounter with memories in a lonely Quebec farmhouse…each leading by a different path to an incident at a busy Vermont border crossing that may trigger tomorrow morning’s headlines.

Written by a longtime news correspondent with personal knowledge of the characters and events he writes about, The Stanstead Incident is both historically accurate and politically provocative. Kirkus Reviews calls it “an intriguing and effective political thriller.” The next “breaking news” graphic on your TV screen may prove it’s much more than that.

message 18: by John (new)

John Paxton Think Fast or Die Great Middle Eastern set spy thriller which has terrorism mixed with looted antiquities. Clark intertwines the theme of a female Kurd soldier who helps Rick fight the extremists. A Pakistani agent also aids giving a multicultural array of characters. Worth reading.

James Because the ratings and reviews are fake.

BookLovingLady So many books on this list which I've read but do not consider a thriller... (not even by a long shot...)
