Riley Sager is the award-winning pseudonym of a former journalist, editor and graphic designer who previously published mysteries under his real name.

Now a full-time author, Riley's first thriller, FINAL GIRLS, became a national and international bestseller and was called "the first great thriller of 2017" by Stephen King. Translation rights have been sold in more than two dozen countries and a film version is being developed by Universal Pictures.

Amazon Studios is developing THE LAST TIME I LIED as a limited TV series. Now, there's no guarantee these projects will actually see the light of day. The complex answer involves the publishing industry, past book sales and publisher expectations. Readers love discovering new authors, which means publishers love introducing new authors, which means it's very hard for previously published authors with low sales numbers to break out of the pack. Unless they write under a new name. Lots of writers have done it. More than most people suspect. My agent and I agreed that it was the best option for me. And that's how Riley Sager was born.(less)

My Favorite Thrillers

It's Mystery and Thriller Week on Goodreads, which makes it the perfect time for a big, fat, juicy list.

After much soul-searching and shelf browsing and re-reading, I've compiled a list of a dozen of my favorite mysteries and thrillers. Each one of these books was a white-knuckle read for me. I couldn't put them down.

So, without further ado, here they are, in order of when they were published:... Read more of this blog post »
