I've read a lot of dystopians recently and thought I'd ask the public their opinion on which one they liked most.

I don't think a lot of these books qualify as a "dystopian society" books...

WTF is dystopian about the Time Traveler's Wife?
Randi wrote: "Cassandra Clare's books, much as I love them, are NOT dystopia..."Yeah, I'm pretty sure that if the plot takes place in NEW YORK CITY with WORKING VEHICLES, then it IS NOT dystopian
Frankenstein, The Canterville Ghost, Les Miserables, The Picture of Dorian Gray and the Chronicles all aren't Dystopian and shouldn't be on this list.
Lynne wrote: "Wow, I can't believe the "Gone" series by Michael Grant was missing from this list."Oh no, they're here. I voted for them.
These are good books, but they all aren't dystopian.... the only ones are the hunger games, divergent, and partials (that i know and have read)
Olivia wrote: "is Cinder by Marissa Meyer on the list? I didn't see it..."Im reading that book right now! And no, I didnt see it, but I felt the need to tell you that lol. Btw, you know who this is... just think... :P
hehe
Lynne wrote: "Wow, I can't believe the "Gone" series by Michael Grant was missing from this list."It's actually on the list it's number 29 plus they have all the other books in the series.
Why are The Infernal Devices high on this list? -_- Some delete them somehow
Lynne wrote: "Wow, I can't believe the "Gone" series by Michael Grant was missing from this list."It wasn't. It's up ther
Graceling is epic fantasy, not dystopian - how is it so high on the list?Gone is more sci-fi/horror than dystopian.
The Iron Fey is probably considered urban fantasy - definitely NOT dystopian.
Scorpio Races is fantasy.
Mortal Instruments is urban fantasy.
Infernal Devices is HISTORICAL urban fantasy.
Gregor the Overlander is fantasy.
The Lightning Thief is mythological fantasy.
Hush, Hush is paranormal romance.
Mortal Engines is Steampunk.
Fire and Thorns is a fantasy romance.
The Perks of being a Wallflower is realistic YA.
The Future of Us is science fiction set in modern day.
Throne of Glass is epic fantasy/romance.
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is paranormal fantasy.
Panic is realistic YA.
The Spook's Apprentice is fantasy.
Shadow and Bone is fantasy.
Game of Thrones is not only epic medieval fantasy, but also is not YA.
I Am Number Four is science fiction.
There are probably more I am missing, but none of these belong on the list.
Lynne wrote: "Wow, I can't believe the "Gone" series by Michael Grant was missing from this list."It is on the list. It also, despite being a wonderful series, is not dystopian.

V. A Court of Wings and Ruin is NEW ADULT/EROTICA but Goodreads editors won't tell you to include it in the choice awards

There are quite a lot of books that aren't dystopian at all (The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, Graceling, ...) My heart is bleeding because they're my favorite books and yet I won't vote for them in a dystopian list.
Removed the Cassandra Clare books, Pretty Little Liars, Rick Riordan's books, Wool (not YA), Hush Hush, Caster Chronicles, Game of Thrones (not YA), The Fault In Our Stars, the "I Am Number Four" series, the Handmaid's Tale & other Atwoods (not YA), Indiana Jones (really?), The Time Traveler's Wife, the Lying Game books, the Boy in the Striped Pajamas, the Defy series, the Iron Fey series, the Scorpio Races, the Underland Chronicles, The Perks of being a Wallflower, the Graceling series, New England Witch Chronicles, the Shadow & Bone series, the Monster Club series, Torment of Shadows, The Future of Us, Panic, The Wasteland Chronicles (Post-Apocalyptic, not dystopian), The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, The Last Apprentice/Wardstone Chronicles series, Throne of Glass series, Looking for Alaska and a few other books by John Green that are not dystopian, Tried to remove duplicates but there's a known glitch causing issues. I reported it to Goodreads.
In the Fullness of TimeAbsolutely timely book for these days we are in! Loved the main character-futuristic and so suspenseful. I binge read the book and highly recommend it!
I put The Sin Eater's Daughter trilogy on the list. Then I worried that it's too much fantasy. I felt it was dystopian when I read it. So, I researched and I am going to stick with it because it has dystopian themes.
