Public domain books are just freebies offered by like Project Gutenberg and stuff. If you Google it you'll find a lot.

Thanks :) This started off as a personal challenge and a way for me to save money on books since I have a Kindle so I have access to public domain freebies and free promotional books and some are PNR and some are not so I have a Kindle full of books that I don't read enough lol. I am sorry if they aren't all your cup of tea. I made it a 1 year challenge because I figure that way I could space them out with other challenge books :)

In the US basically anything published before 1923 is public domain. Examples would be Dracula by Bram Stoker, anything by Jane Austen...

Also if anyone wants to do a modified version of this challenge and can come up with another "dozen" to replace one that is there, then feel free. Just post a note at the top of your list that you are doing a modified challenge... so people don't get confused.
