I can tell because one of the votes is the author (which is really sleazy on its own), the other 2 are people that have exactly 1 book in their 'my books'. These are not users of the site. These are shills for this particular book.

Greetings fellow over thirty-fivers - how sad is it that some authors HAVE to spam their books on to lists to get noticed?
I find this stupidly appalling and I'm a writer. When my stuff eventually gets on, I want votes and reviews to be genuine. I want to really KNOW how many people have read my work and how many have enjoyed it without prodding or propping. If you can't be genuine, then why are you writing at all? What's it for? If it's purely financial then seriously, your work isn't worth the read so stop right now and do something else. Something more lucrative for you.
