Are you searching for a great young adult novel to dive into? In that case, you've come to the right place. Goodreads members are pros at scouting out immersive YA reads, and since we're now halfway through 2020 (what?!), it's time to round up the most popular YA titles of the year so far.
These books have the distinction of being both highly anticipated and highly reviewed (we winnowed out the books with less than a 3.5-star rating from your fellow readers). They run the gamut of subgenres, from contemporary mysteries to high fantasy and everything in between.

I thought you missed "Call Down the Hawk" by Maggie Stiefvater but that was November 2019. I've read it twice in 2020 and forgot that this most excellent book came out last year.
Great list! I look forward to reading a couple of the series books.

As someone who interacts daily with tons of people who read YA, I can categorically say that regardless of the content and quality of those books, both of the covers just don't compete in the YA market. It's a shame because I love that indie authors are out there for YA readers but those folks (of all ages not just teenagers) are cray cray over their covers.
Tons of Owlcrate books on this list. I wonder if they just predicted what would be popular or are so big that their readers are making their book picks the most read??

No it’s the content that bothers me as I looked them all up. But let’s not argue over a petty topic please. I have my standards on books and you have yours. Don’t nit pick me for expressing my opinion!

Since when was asking a single question arguing or nitpicking?
I like lists like these because they're helpful for me to go back to books I missed and prioritize what to review. That said, I cannot believe that Crave got so popular. It's a tacky ripoff of one of the tackiest books of all time. I thought it was a joke the first time I saw it.
