I appreciate some of the manga above but what kind of taste do you even have for not including the all time best selling manga "One Piece"... I know many critics are calling it a trash but, Those people did not even got past 30 chapters or so... I highly recommend it... Its the greatest treasure our generation can ever find...

I agree...I mean...it is really good and whoever calls it trash shall be sent to hell by me! I mean I got so attracted to it after one or a few episodes on TV,it is one of the reasons I'm watching anime now!

I deleted the following titles from this list for the simple reason that they were totally miscategorized (because they aren't manga):

The Walking Dead: Days Gone Bye by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore
The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
Enclave by Ann Aguirre

I also deleted Naruto Volume 30 because the creator of the list asked for only the first book in a series, and Naruto Volume 1 has already been listed.

fullmetal alchemist all the way. that being said, ruriken (rurouni kenshin) is great, yu yu hakusho is so awesome and a classic, bleach is very good despite the fanboy's and all the filler with the anime and yeah.

Looking at this made me depressed. I mean, Katekyo Hitman Reborn? Its good, but best of all time? THe ending was crap! And where is Elfen Lied! Its one of the few mangas that every made me truly absorbed in it, and when Lucy/Nyu died, i cried. At the ending I cried. Just writing this is making me cry from remembering! Another series missing is Dr. Slump! Everywhere it is hailed as the crowning achievent of Akira Toriyama's work, and he wrote DB and DBZ(I keep them separate only because the volumes sell as such). And how is Rave Master not in their if Fairy Tale is? However, props to the people who picked Hellsing and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles! I used to think both were underappreciated. Nice to know people do appreciate both series!

What about Gakuen Alice? It does portray very young characters, but the story is poignant and beautiful! The series is still ongoing, so I can't guarantee the ending, but I trust the author... :)

Fairy Tail's drawing style started out a little rough. I saw the anime first and nearly quit reading it because it was so different. But if you stick with it, it smoothes out. It's one of my favorite manga, top 5 for sure. Of course, it is a shounen manga through and through. That doesn't change :P

It took me a long time to get into One Piece. I thought it was garbage until I hit...oh, the Skypiea arc? I wasn't obsessed until the Impel Down arc. Now it's one of my favorite manga. It just seemed so trivial (I mean, a rubber pirate, really?) until I realized wait...there are some deep themes here. OH MY GOD I SEE MY CHILDHOOD! Now I'm watching the anime and I can't keep from smiling.
