I have no idea what to vote for...eeny meeny mini mo.
How in the heck do we pick just one?! Wow, that was a tough call.
I managed to narrow it down to a personal top 3, then I just picked at random.
It's amazing. Over 120 votes and yet over half the list has less than one vote...
I am surprised, only 126 total votes. I was expecting a greater response from fantasy lovers. Naturally, the Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings got the most votes. No surprise there. Lots of good books on the list though.
The poll has just barely started. I'm sure we'll see a lot of voters, especially since so many have already voted and it's only been one day since the poll has been up.

Hi Patrica. If you go to the "Reading Recommendations" folder you will find several threads discussing the rules, voting requirements, book eligibility, discussions, nominations and the voting rounds (this is the 5th and final round).
Dune - IIRC - was not eligible as it is considered Science Fiction and this list is specifically for Fantasy genre books. The threads I pointed you to would have more detail.
Me too :)I'm torn between my favorite author, my favorite book, a new-ish favorite series that had me bawling at the end, and a new favorite that might be the best example of what epic fantasy can do.
:-) I decided to pick a book...knowing I can change my mind until the last day....

Well, I voted a bit strategically. I knew my very favorite would get placed highly. I knew my second favorite would get placed highly. So I voted for a sentimental favorite that I wanted to make sure at least got placed.
Yeah I did the same Kimberly, I had to go for my first ever. Sentimental reasons I guess, it always holds a special place.

I finally voted. I had to go for The Once and Future King because that was the book that cemented my life-long love of Arthurian legend.
Since I saw the poll results before logging in, I decided to go with my next favorite book/series ... Elric of Melniboné. Thanks for the reminder MrsJ, I don't know how I missed this poll!
It was a really tough choice, but I voted for The Last Unicorn but only because I knew Lord of the Rings/ Hobbit would win and I really would be thrilled if more people were inspired to read Peter S. Beagle!!Huge Terry Brooks fan here, too.
A lot of good ones, but my vote belongs to the dark tower.
