Raymond E. Feist was born Raymond E. Gonzales III, but took his adoptive step-father's surname when his mother remarried Felix E. Feist. He graduated with a B.A. in Communication Arts with Honors in 1977 from the University of California at San Diego. During that year Feist had some ideas for a novel about a boy who would be a magician. He wrote the novel two years later, and it was published in 1982 by Doubleday. Feist currently lives in San Diego with his children, where he collects fine wine, DVDs, and books on a variety of topics of personal interest: wine, biographies, history, and, especially, the history of American Professional Football. ...more

Touching greatness

I first saw John Wooden at court side in 1963.  My neighbors had an extra ticket for the L.A. Basketball Classic, an invitational college basketball tourney hosted jointly by USC and UCLA, which at the time shared the L.A. AUGUST 2016 READ For July, we will be reading a book whose main characters are magical!
Genre: Fantasy, Subgenre: Magic, Theme: Witch, Wizard, Mage, Sorcerer, Warlock, etc.

We are trying to choose only adult books, so you probably won't find any "Young Adult" on this list. That said, if you still haven't read Harry Potter, then DO THAT!
Also I am shying away from "Urban Fantasy" since that usually just means romance.

To view all we found in this genre, even those that didn't make the cut, you can view our Witch and Wizard Bookshelf.

This poll will open at 12:01 am on Sunday, July 3rd and will end either at 11:59 pm on Saturday, July 16th, or when all votes are in.
