UPDATE (7/05/2020): I've decided against reading the Western Writers of America: Silver Anniversary Anthology as the book that covers these prompts - Read a Western; Read a book with "gold", "silver", or "bronze" in the title; & Read an Anthology. While I was happy with my choice because it checked off 3 prompts with a single book, the western genre is generally contrary to my core values given the degree to which indigenous people are vilified and/or brutalized. I already have a J.K. Rowling book still among my choices, and I wrestle with that too given her anti-trans stance that's become horribly evident since January, but have decided to leave it alone because at least the Harry Potter stories don't make me cringe in the same way that reading about massacred Indians does. So while I'm going to leave the original list of choices above for posterity, I'm now choosing these two books to take the place of the Wester Writers of American anthology: Dead Man's Hand: An Anthology of the Weird West (more Steampunk/Fantasy type stories set in the "new" wild West) to complete the Western and Anthology prompts, and Reflections in a Golden Eye (COMPLETED) to complete the Gold/Silver/Bronze prompt. Yes, I'm adding another book to my list, but I'll be happier in the long run.
UPDATE (12/29/20): I'm clearly not going to complete the challenge, which is unfortunate, but on the other hand, I've done so much better with the PopSugar Challenge for 2020 than I've done with challenges in other years. So, yay me! That being said, I'm going to place a newly read book among those read for this prompt, because it definitely fulfills a very specific prompt. So, again, leaving the list above alone for posterity, but not plugging in Shuggie Bain (COMPLETED) for the prompt "Read a Book Published in 2020". I'm hoping to get yet another one read before Thursday evening.
