Since I finished off 2016/started 2017 with reading book #4, I'm going to start the 2017 list with book #5 as this too has been on my TBR since I joined GR in 2013.
2. To Kill a Mockingbird
Since I didn't read it in 2016, here it is again ;-)
I may be one of the few people not to have been subjected to this in one course or another over the school years. It's about time I finally read this classic!
3. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
I've had my eye on this trilogy for a while, and it's been on my TBR ever since I joined because my mum kept raving about it. Maybe 2017 is the year I'll finally read it!
4. The House of Silk
Another one from 2016, moving to 2017.
I think I randomly picked this up when second-hand book hunting because I liked the cover. Yes, I bought this mostly because of the cover...

Got this very cheap a few years back but haven't picked it up because I was disappointed by the Mortal Instruments series (which, for me personally, ended at book 3). We'll see if in 2017, I'll finally read it since I still didn't in 2016.
6. The Final Empire
I'm not even sure why I kept putting this off...
7. Tintenherz
It's a little on the fat side and hard to carry around with me. But I should really finally read it, especially after I managed to hunt down the trilogy in a beautiful hardcover edition.
8. The Last Unicorn
After picking it up and putting it back down again so many times without actually reading it... it's about time that changed.
9. The Time Traveler's Wife
I've had this on my shelf for a while and I keep wondering if I really want to read it or not. So I've decided to put it on this list and just try. If I end up not liking it (I saw a few minutes of the movie and found it to be very odd), I'll just put it aside again but at least then I will have tried.
10. A Kiss of Shadows
Found this a few years back and picked it up because I enjoyed Hamilton's Anita Blake series but then I never actually read this one.
11. Timeless
Really should finish that series.

Started it once, found it longwinded and put it down again. But I've been told repeatedly that it's a really good series, so I'm going to give this another go.

Because it's about time I started this series!! I loved The Night Angel trilogy.
It's a classic - need I say more? I think I read an abridged version in school but I'm not sure anymore. Either way, I want to read it in it's unabridged version.

I've had this book for 5+ years. Why haven't I read it...don't know.
Love Ward's Black Dagger series and I enjoyed the first book in this series, but not moved onto the second book and I've had it for a while.
Love Nora writing as Robb, but only read the bride quartet by Nora and that was years ago. Had this one for 3+ years to read.
Need to finish this last book in the series.
This book for everywhere 3 years ago, and I got caught up in buying it. However never read it.
Another one of enjoying the authors other series, but not tried this one.
*Need to look and see what else I have.

I was not expecting the redactions (blackout patches), especially the long passages of them, but I enjoyed this one a lot.
3. Passionate Ink: A Guide to Writing Erotic Romance 1/14/17
One I've been wanting to re-read for a long time. I could only find it in trade paperback until I stumbled across it on Google Books. Unfortunately, I now have to re-read Jane's Warlord as several excerpts from it are in the book. Well, that's not too much of a hardship as it's one of my favorite romances. :-)
4. The Writer's Tune-up Manual: 35 Exercises That Will Scrape the Rust Off Your Writing 2/1/17
Freebie from Amazon more than a year ago, on a mental TBR list since then. This one disappointed me as I was expecting more from it than it gave me.

My plan is to read the first 12 books I added to my TBR back in 2009. Then the next 12 books will be whatever I feel like reading that were put on my TBR in 2015 or earlier. Hopefully, this offers enough flexibility that I keep going, but also accomplish reading books I own/have been wanting to read for a long time. Last year I was not successful with my goal so we will see if this configuration works for me better.

Last year I started this challenge because I joined Goodreads in 2012, and still had books on my "to read" shelf from back then. They just stared at me... mockingly... asking me when I'm going to either read them or remove them from my shelf...
So in 2016 I cleaned out the closet and read or deleted all the books I have left on my tbr that I added in 2012.
It gave me a real kick in the pants to get those old books read, so I'm doing it again in 2017.
