I removed The Tea Party in the Woods from the list since it was published in 2015. In addition, the author/illustrator is a resident of Japan, and therefore not eligible for a Caldecott award (US residents only).

I know Julie Morstad lives in Canada - does anyone know her citizenship? I assumed When Green Becomes Tomatoes: Poems for All Seasons was ineligible, but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
Sara wrote: "Too bad The Night Gardener isn't eligible (illustrator is Canadian). What a beautiful book!"Actually, the illustrator was born in the US so still eligible if still a citizen.
Jess wrote: "I know Julie Morstad lives in Canada - does anyone know her citizenship? I assumed When Green Becomes Tomatoes: Poems for All Seasons was ineligible, but I'd be happy to be proven w..."Pretty sure Morstad is Canadian and lives in Canada so not eligible, sadly...
I noticed in reviewing the list that Daniel Finds a Poem is listed twice. It is number 20 and number 52.
This House, Once by Deborah Freedman has a release date of February 28, 2017 so it is not eligible for this year.
Jody wrote: "This House, Once by Deborah Freedman has a release date of February 28, 2017 so it is not eligible for this year."I removed it and ran a duplicate check on titles.
Keri wrote: "Is March truly eligible? Is it not a book intended for adults?" I can't say for certain if it qualifies, but it did just win the 2016 National Book Award for Young People's Literature. Caldecott focuses on books for an audience up to age 14. I'm not sure the age range that is considered "young people," but I'm reading it now and don't feel like it is specifically for adults. The trilogy is a great read across many ages though, in my opinion!
