It's not easy finding picture books from the 1970s so I'm hoping people will add to this list. Thanks.

I'm just old enough that mine were from the 60s.

I added the caldecott winner's and honor books. Presumably there are other picture books awards that would add a few more books.

So why the 70's? or are there other lists for other decades?

Just FYI, Michael Rosen's We're Going on a Bear Hunt is from 1989, not the '70s.

Hey Mitchell. I have found it easy to find books from the 80s and up as there are lists all over and there is an abundance of great books from the 60s, but I can't really find lists or something from the 70s and I thought it would be great if people help me find them. I am trying to have a good taste from each decade and this is the one I have trouble with outside of Caldecott. Thanks for the adds.

Hey Rainbow. Thanks for the FYI. I removed it. When I was looking at my library book it gave a copyright date of 1979 which is why I put it there, but I can't find it anywhere else. So, I agree with you. Thanks for the help.

Hey Susanna. During break, I will start a 60s page. It's good to have them. The 60s will be easy.

Well, there is no way to remove them that I see, so I guess it's stuck there.

A librarian can remove it. Where on the list is it?

ETA: If there's only one vote for it, the person who voted for it can remove it, by just removing their vote. (The cache will catch up eventually.)

Clifford the Big Red Dog is, I think, from the 60s.

Either someone already removed Going on a Bear Hunt, or my eyes glided over it.

Yikes, this list was a huge mess! I did some major cleanup and removed books that did not have initial publication dates from the 1970s.

A Baby Sister for Frances, Best Friends for Frances, Bedtime for Frances, A Birthday for Frances, Katy and the Big Snow, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Very Busy Spider, The Giving Tree, Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse, Gila Monsters Meet You at the Airport, Hubert's Hair Raising Adventure, How Fletcher Was Hatched, The Three Jovial Huntsmen, There's a Nightmare in My Closet, There's Something in My Attic, A Boy a Dog and a Frog, I Was So Mad, Peanuts Cook Book, Swimmy, Heidi, and several compilations of comics. Also deleted Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great, which is a novel, not a picture book.

Just removed another batch of non-1970s releases.
