Listed are books with 1,000,000 or more ratings.
This list (and related lists) are maintained by hand primarily by voluntary librarians.

All you have to do to help, is go to the related lists below and vote, especially for books that have only 1 vote. You can vote for 100 books - which means a list needs at least one maintainer for every 100 books on that list.

That's all I've found so far. If you find others, please add them. There are a lot of classics which are close. Also, some of the remaining Harry Potter books are close.
I was thinking of creating a list for > 900K (or perhaps > 750k) for that very reason - I found a bunch that were close. But I hunted for a half an hour and couldn't find another book over a million.

If you look just to the right of the book it shows the number of ratings that book has for now. I was also searching and searching for Suheyla's list and then I noticed that. It saves so much searching.

Strange we can't find a sorted list of the most rated books and the most read book...just by year. But these lists will do nicely!
I'm curious how all these lists were put together. Was it just a gradual group adding thing?Cuz I kinda want to see a similar list for Most Reviews.
There are some books that have a huge review:rating ratio, and others that have a tiny one.
For example, Unbroken has 203k ratings & 25.6k reviews.
The Hunt for Red October has 210k ratings & 1.4k reviews.
Implying that the former incites much, much stronger feelings despite having somewhat fewer people who have read it. I wanna know what books inspire the most passion (in one direction or the other).

Oh it was definitely a gradual group adding thing - but the important criteria is not have too many books more than 100 in any on list - because then one person can't manage it.
Jason wrote: "I just had a cursory scan through the 800k+ rated books by going through Mitchell's books, and I raised my eyebrow at how the # of reviews ranking turns out:133 Hunger Games
84 Twilight

A list of book with the most reviews would be interesting. A list of books with the highest ratio of reviews to ratings would be interesting.
The biggest challenge is that you can't see this attribute that easy from the list. You can include it as a comment when you put it on the list though.
I think I'll do a 20k reviews list. And go through your lists some more to find the books. Plus perhaps the Best Books Ever list which should add books with intense but not huge fandoms...A ratio would be too hard, as I would have to go through too many books; I'm sure there are some books out there with a minor # of ratings but with a huge portion of them attached to reviews.
Thanks.
Right now Memoirs of a Geisha has 989,302 ratings - it'll probably have over a million soon! (I was just looking for some books that will hit a million soon. There are probably others, but I started with my own shelves, haha)

In case you didn't spot it, you should check out https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/3...
Sophie wrote: "Soon we'll have to make a list for TWO million ratings!"as long as there are less than 100 books, there will be no reason to split the list.
Jason wrote: "Cuz I kinda want to see a similar list for Most Reviews. The question came about because I noticed that as of today Gone Girl has 883,671 ratings to 100,729 reviews which blew my mind. No matter what the book, it's super cool to see so many people that impassioned about ONE book.
P.S. Thank you to the list creator and helpers for this list!
The eighth Harry Potter book is here! Oh, my bad, its just Percy Jackson. Totally not the same thing.
The (mean) rating is the traditional way to determine how readers liked the book but it would be nice to know the mode too. I'm assuming that Goodreads rating are the standard mean.Mean is the average of all the data.
Median is the middle value of the set of data
Mode is the one that occurs most often in a set of data.
Karen wrote: "The (mean) rating is the traditional way to determine how readers liked the book but it would be nice to know the mode too. So for Hunger Games
5 stars - 2253730
4 stars - 1187240
3 stars - 433338
2 stars - 98018
1 star - 48690
So on 4021016 ratings, mode is 5, median is 5, mean is 4.36763992
Arpit wrote: "OH MY GOD!! The Hunger Games has crossed 4 million ratings!! That's horrible. HP deserves it."HP deserves it more, no doubt, but horrible is rather strong word, wouldn't you say? It still is a great book.
On July 31st, 2015 I wrote the followingWith fairly high confidence for books with over 100,000 ratings - the number of books on goodreads with over n ratings are as follows:
43 - >1 million
48 - 500,000 to 999,999
243 - 200,000 to 499,999
389 - 100,000 to 199,999
211 - 80,000 to 99,999
===
934 books on goodreads with over 80,000 ratings
As of right now61 - > 1 million
93 - 500,000 to 999,999
303 - 200,000 to 499,999
550 - 100,000 to 199,999
260 - 80,000 to 99,999
===
1267 books on goodreads with over 80,000 ratings
As always, keeping up a list is a group effort - but keeping up a list over 100 books is required to be a group effort - since no one can vote more than 100 times. So if you want to support these lists, it would be helpful to vote for as many books already on the lists as you can.
