I am sorry to be posting so much tonight but I have honestly finished a whole bunch of tasks in our car driving to visit out of state this weekend and sitting in pubs listening to my son play drums with his band and read till 1:30! I love it!!!!

C. Coming Of Age - 14 - The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier. This book cme out in 1974 just after I graduated from an all girl Catholic High School that sold World's Finest and hated that month with a passion! It has taken me till now to be able to read the book. Jerry learns to stand up for himself as he refuses to sell and goes against the faculty and student Vigils.

20.5. Larger Than Life
The Falcon at the Portal by Elizabeth Peters
For those who've never read any of the books in the Amelia Peabody series, Amelia is a woman who is certainly larger than life - in a era (turn of the 1900s) where women weren't considered the equals of men, Amelia insisted on being given respect as an Egyptologist, and often broke from tradition, wearing pants while on their excavation site. Scandalous! :)
30.7. Forever Young
Book 1: Misguided Angel by Melissa de la Cruz - series/paranormal (256 pages) - Considered YA because the main characters are high school age (16-17), paranormal because they are also vampires
Book 2: Heist Society by Ally Carter - series/mystery/suspense (287 pages) - Considered YA because the protagonist (Kat) is 15, mystery because she is trying to figure out who really stole paintings her father is being blamed for and clear his name
Book 3: Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver - stand alone/coming of age (341) - Considered YA because the protagonist (Sam) is a high school student, coming of age because she has to examine what's important in her life and make tough choices about her future and what she can do to positively effect others before she goes.
