Crippled by polio as a child in Kenya, she overcoming prejudice and personal disability in a village that wants her killed for being cursed, to survive the illness and be the first in her family to attend University, gaining a degree and teaching others, and went against the normal by marrying a white foreigner. She defied doctors to get pregnant and have a healthy baby. Then she became the first Kenyan to ever take part in wheelchair racing at the paralympics in Athens, and now competes for the UK. Then she won the right to have her story published by winning a BBC book competition. Great book!
