Petra I completed Task 25.1 (favorite genre).
My favorite genre is "textural fiction", fiction that is full of texture. Most of these books seem to be historical in nature but not all (ie: The Last Chinese Chef is contemporary).

For this task, I chose to read 2 historical fiction books: The Muse of Edouard Manet and The Swan Thieves.
Both are stories revolve around artists and describe the process of painting, the texture & smell of paint & supplies, the depth of paint on the brushes & strokes, etc.
I recommend both books. The Muse of Edouard Manet has some flaws (mainly poor dialogue) but the story is so compelling and interesting that the flaws can easily be overlooked.
The Swan Thieves is really amazing. The entire story is like a painting, just coming out into view in layers.
