Miriam 25.3 -- Christine US's task - REFLECTIONS on 2010

A. The Women

My husband and I went to Chicago together (our first trip without the kids) and on our last day we visited the Frank Lloyd Wright house in Oak Park. The whole trip was fabulous, but that last day was particularly spectacular.

B. I read Nicholson Baker for the first time year (The Anthologist), and loved it. So, for this challenge, I read his first book The Mezzanine.

I need to move another book. In Post #20, I used Second Space: New Poems for Task 5.1. I'd like to use it for 30.5b as noted below instead.

Task 30.5 Old 10/New 11

Old 10:Gordimer: Selected Stories by Nadine Gordimer
(This has been on my shelves since before I joined GR. I'm glad to have finally read it. Gordimer is awesome, and an author that I'd read before.)

New 11:Second Space: New Poems by Czesław Miłosz
(I found this book at the beginning of this challenge, so it was a brand new TBR at that time, and I'd never read anything else by this author.)

30.7 -- Emily Kate's task -- Forever Young
Read 2 or more YA books totaling at least 800 pages.

Of your selected books, 1 must be a stand-alone book (NOT part of a series) and 1 must be part of a series

In addition, all books must be chosen from different sub-genres of YA.

My books:
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak -- Stand alone / historical fiction (550 pages). Considered YA because of the age of the main character. Historical fiction because it takes place during a different time era in the past (WWII, in this case).
The Book Thief is a BIG BOOK (>500 pgs)

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins -- Series (#3 and final book in series) / dystopian (398 pages). Considered YA because of the ages of the main characters. Dystopian because it takes place in an dysfunctional fictional society where the residents lead fearful lives.
