The Butcher's Boy by Thomas Perry - 1982
Thomas Perry is a favorite and I hadn't been able to find his 1982 debut until I found it in a paperback donation bin at the library- Eureka! It was great to see the roots of the Jane Whitefield series in this book. IMO nobody does underground chase books better than Perry.
