Debbie (db_debber) | 2757 comments lol, ok thanks for checking in.

Tonight is the night (well night for me) so it is good to have so many ready to go. I won't throuhg out any reminders until November 1 since all recomendations need to be in by the 2nd to avoid having to do re-pairing.

After I do the pairing tonight, you can check in on page 1 message 4 for your recomendee and recomender. Sign up will close at 10 pm Central (USA), hopefully it wont take more than half hour/hour to do the matches. You can start checking in on me around that time if you are up and around.

One more reminder, if your profile is set to private you will need to either friend your recommeder or set it to public for a couple of days till you have your recommendations.
Thanks

message 116: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments Hi Diane

I happened to be clicking on the link when Debbie posted the list (the joys of working late)...so here are my picks for you - hopefully 1 or more of these works! If not, let me know and i'll see what else I can do

From your TBR
Both of these I have read and enjoyed:
1. Goddess of the Rose - a cute retelling of Beauty and the Beast - I recommended it to someone 2 months ago and she really enjoyed it as well
2. Garden Spells - While I've enjoyed her later books more, this is still a 4 star read for me

New To You
3. Moon Called - I saw you had a bit of PNR and UF on your list - I started reading this series a few months ago and really enjoyed it - I'm using book 3 in the FAC for this month...the first one is a bit slow at the beginning but gets really good
4. Some Girls Bite - I saw you had book 3 on your list, and hopefully you haven't read the previous two and forgot to log them, but you really need to read the series from the beginning

From My TBR (and yours as well)
5. Mistress of the Art of Death
6. Archangel's Kiss

message 117: by Desperado (last edited Oct 28, 2010 09:36PM) (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) | 822 comments Debbie, I actually have 278 books on my TBR shelves, not 197. I have two exclusive shelves; one for TBR stand alones/series & one for TBR first-in-series. I know you can't change it now, I just hope my recommender looks at both shelves.

message 118: by Rachel-RN (new)

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 202 comments Hi Christine S!
From your TBR:
1. Divine By Mistake- one of (many) my favorite books.
2. Pleasure Unbound- just read this one for the Oct Pick-It-For-Me Challenge. I enjoyed it!
New to You:
1.Daughter of the Blood- a great fantasy series to try. It's awesome!
2.Red Roses Mean Love- My favorite Jacquie D book
From my TBR:
1. Revealed-I just read Compromised and loved it, this one is her next one (on your TBR too).
2. On the Edge- I've heard good things about this series.
Crossing my fingers and hope something interests you:-)

message 119: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (db_debber) | 2757 comments Hey Annie (a mad hamster),
Hope you can find something in here that you want to read this month.

From your TBR
Royal's Bride - I really enjoyed this historical series, I had never read Kat Martin before when I picked up these, now I want to find for of hers.
Iron Kissed - different type of series I will pick this one which is actually the 3rd book and I didn't see that you have read Blood Bound which is the 2nd of the Mercy series.

New to You
The Girl Who Chased the Moon - Really any Sarah Addison Allen will do, this is the most recent and I just loved it.
Maybe This Time - I saw you had a couple of Jennifer Crusies, this one is different, it has a bit of a supernatural twist to it that makes it fun.

From my TBR (and yours)
A Quick Bite - I keep wanting to start this one myself.
Bitten - I have read a Kelly Armstrong (out of order), I keep thinking I need to get this one done too.

message 120: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (db_debber) | 2757 comments Yeah, there are several people that have multiple to-read shelves, but I just used the basic one.
- You can ask them to for sure.

message 121: by Diane ~Firefly~ (new)

Diane ~Firefly~ | 1511 comments Rachel, we had quite a bit in common, so I hope you enjoy these picks.

Your TBR
1. Matters of the Blood by Maria Lima. Her origins and powers are interesting. The family dynamic is a bit crazy and the love triangle is quickly resolved.
2. Red Hot Fury by Kasey MacKenzie. It was nice to have some different types of paranormals (furies, warhounds, etc) for a change.

New to You
3. The Mirror of Her Dreams by Stephen R. Donaldson. Great older fantasy novel that only has one sequel (A Man Rides Through). Starts off a bit depressing, but lots of great characters and intrigue.
4. After Dark by Jayne Castle. Takes place on a different world where the people have evolved to have some mind powers and introduces dust bunnies as pets.

My TBR
5. Tinker by Wen Spencer. Sounds like a fun old-school type fantasy.
6. The Sweet Scent of Blood by Suzanne McLeod. This is high on my want to read quickly list as it has a great premise of the Spellcrackers and seems to have a nice list of supernaturals.

Matters Of The Blood (Blood Lines, #1) by Maria Lima Red Hot Fury (Shades of Fury, #1) by Kasey MacKenzie The Mirror of Her Dreams (Mordant's Need Series #1) by Stephen R. Donaldson After Dark (Harmony, #1) by Jayne Castle Tinker (Tinker, #1) by Wen Spencer The Sweet Scent of Blood (Spellcrackers.com, #1) by Suzanne McLeod

Fran | 12278 comments Hi Penney! Hope you find something you like- if not, I would be happy to pick some others for you.

From Your TBR-

1. The Book Thief- This is a wonderful read- keep the tissues handy!
2. Sweet Surrender- I love Maya Banks and this is a great series by her- super sexy and romantic.

New To You-

1. The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen. I just read this recently and
loved it- magical and filled with love and hope.
2. Houston, We Have A Problem by Erin McCarthy. I really like her and this is one of my favorites- light and sweet and funny.

From my TBR (and yours)

1. Demon from the Dark- The IAD series is awesome and I've heard great things about this one- I am starting it next week.
2. He Loves Lucy- This one looks so cute and I've read many great reviews about it- also on my list to read in Nov.

message 123: by Desperado (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) | 822 comments Valerie, after much deliberation, I've decided on my picks for you. I hope you find something you're interested in. If not, I am more than happy to try to find something else you might enjoy.

From Your TBR
1. The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson~ I noticed that you've read & liked quite a few dystopian YA novels. I became a fan as well, after I read this novel over the summer.
2. Bitten by Kelley Armstrong~ I read this book awhile back but I still remember how amazing it was. In my opinion, Kelley Armstrong is one of the best UF authors I've come across so far.

New To You
3. Be With Me by Maya Banks~ I saw that you've read ER novels by Opal Carew, Shayla Black & Megan Hart & thought you might be interest in one of my favorite ER authors.
4. A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole~ Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like there is no love lost between you & PNR. BUT, I saw that you did like KMM's Highlander series for the most part & the first series that popped into my head that I thought was similiar to it is this one.

From My-& Your-TBR
5.Unraveled by Gena Showalter~ We both gave Intertwined 4 stars, so it's only natural that I recommend the sequel. I don't know about you, but I'm reading this baby as soon as I can get my hands on it.
6.Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles~ I've heard so many great things about this book but I was very hesitant to put it on my TBR shelf, as I usually end up disliking hyped up YA novels. But after I read a good review by a friend who rips YA novels to pieces on a regular basis, I had to cave in.

The Adoration of Jenna Fox by Mary E. Pearson Bitten (Women of the Otherworld, #1) by Kelley Armstrong Be With Me by Maya Banks A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole Unraveled (Intertwined, #2) by Gena Showalter Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry, #1) by Simone Elkeles

Ashley♥Alexis | 309 comments Hey Gail!

From your TBR
1: Hot Ice--I liked this one I thought it had just enough action and humor for a good weekend read, but there aren't many Nora Roberts books I don't enjoy.
2: Orchid --I really loved Zinnia so im sure this one will be just as good. Im actually adding it to my TBR list after seeing it on yours.

New To You
3: Tribute --As of right now, my favorite Nora novel.
4: Fallen --I see you liked the Twilight Saga. Think Twilight but with Angels... good stuff. The 2nd book in this trilogy is better than the first but you have to start at the beginning ^.^

From My TBR
5: Can You Keep a Secret? --I was recommnded this book after reading a Donna Kauffman book (The Big Bad Wolf Tells All)that i LOVED. I see you like her so maybe you'll like this one.

6: Dark Slayer -- I've heard tons of good things and some day I will read it.

message 125: by Emily (new)

Emily Hey Macwolf01[Elise]

From Your TBR
1. Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging: Confessions of Georgia Nicolson -This is a hilarious, devour in one day sort of book. Georgia's definitely a memorable character.

2. 1st to Die--Intense and hard to put down. The short chapters are a blessing and a curse, especially when it's late and you try for 'just ONE more'.

New To You

3.Blue Bloods--It seems people love this or hate it. Me? I rather enjoyed it. The mythology and characters made it a great read to me.

4. Perfect Chemistry--Wonderful. Wonderful. Wonderful. Two of the best matched characters I've read in YA or any other genre.

From My & Your TBR

5.The Raven Prince--Who can resist a good 'Beauty and the Beast' read? Apparently the two of us, up until now. This one seems to have great reviews and sounds interesting.

6.The Unsung Hero--Pretty much universally lauded. Might as well see what all the fuss and fervor's about. ;^)

Hope one of these picks trips your trigger and I look forward to seeing what you choose for me. :^)

(PS. I love the dog in your icon pic. ADORABLE. hee)

Pollyanna (polly8) | 300 comments Sara

Hi, I'm picking for you again, I had a look at what I recommended you last time so that I would pick differently :)

From you tbr:
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd I really enjoyed this book and hope that you do too.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer I noticed you haven't read this and so I just had to pick it for you.

New to you:
Life As We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer I really enjoyed this book, it's a sci-fi young adult book and the story is actually quite scary the thought that it could happen.
Retribution by Jilliane Hoffman I notice you have quite a few crime books on your list so I thought you might like this, this is one of my favourite books.

From my tbr:
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho I am planning to read this soon so thought this would be a good one to pick as it is also on your tbr.
In Cold Blood: A True Account of a Multiple Murder and Its Consequences a book I've had on my tbr for ages and thought it might appeal to you too based on your reading lists.

Hope you like my picks, enjoy :)

message 127: by D.G. (last edited Oct 29, 2010 06:51AM) (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments Thenia,

Picking for you was easy and difficult at the same time. Easy because I had fewer choices to recommend than usual...difficult because of the same reason! Anyhow, I hope you find something here you like; if not, feel free to let me know and I can add more picks to my recommendations. :)

From Your TBR:
1. Iron Kissed by Patricia Briggs: Probably my favorite book so far in the series. I didn't sleep after finishing this book. :)
2. Soulless by Gail Carriger: My first foray into Steampunk. Entertaining and a lot of fun.

New To You:
1. The Confession of Fitzwilliam Darcy by Mary Street: I noticed that you loved P&P and thought you might enjoy this P&P version told from Darcy's eyes. I've read several of them and by far this has been the best.
2. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss: Read this one just a week ago and loved it. I thought you might enjoy it because you read YA and this has a YA feel to it. I cannot say enough good things about this book.

From Our TBRs:
1. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson: I've heard a lot of good things about this book so I hope you enjoy it. I'd like to get to it soon!
2. Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins: This book is actually on my wishlist (my TBR has only books I own) but again, I heard some good things about it and wanted to include a YA recommendation as this seems to be your favorite genre.

Enjoy!

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Elizabeth, I'm off to work for the day but I'll be sure to have picks up for you tonight. Thanks for the patience.

message 129: by ~Megan~ (new)

~Megan~ (megadee) Hello Emily!!

It was so hard to pick for you....I wanted to recommend almost everything on your TBR shelf, but I managed to narrow it down to my two very favorites! I hope you find something here you might like!

From your TBR:
A Quick Bite by Lynsay Sands - This series is so much fun. I read this book mainly because I loved Lynsay Sands' historical novels so much, and it was one of my first paranormal series. I have laughed harder in these books than probably any others I've read. I love the first two, but the third one is my personal favorite.

The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn - Everyone always raves about the Bridgerton series by JQ, and I truly adore those, but I think the three Bevelstoke books are my personal favorites. They have so much humor, and these hilarious intros to every chapter...in this one they are entries from Miranda's diary. It was my first Julia Quinn, and I've since read all but one of her entire backlist.

New to You (I Hope!): You had only 18 books on your read shelf, so I'm hoping these are new to you!
The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen - It's what all the cool kids are recommending, apparently! But seriously, it was one of my favorite reads of this entire year.

Warrior by Zoe Archer - I read this one last month, and was blown away by it. An epic adventure story that reminded me a lot of Indiana Jones with a really wonderful love story.

From Our TBR's:
It Had to Be You by Susan Elizabeth Phillips - I see you're reading an SEP novel right now, and she is one of my all-time favorites. I have read almost all of her books, but somehow this one slipped through my fingers. I plan to read it this month for another challenge.

Cherish by Catherine Anderson - Another of my favorite authors. You don't know how bad I wanted to pick one of her books from your TBR (especially Baby Love, which is the start of a truly fantastic series), but I decided to pick her for this category since I wanted to pick so many from your TBR. Her heroes are really perfection, and I've heard great things about this book. I plan to read it this month as well!

message 130: by Ceej (last edited Oct 29, 2010 06:36AM) (new)

Ceej (drqangel) | 1015 comments hey there Tina,

This is my 4th pick it for me challenge and I hope I'm getting better at this! You and I have some similar tastes in books so this one is kind of easy for me. As always I hope that I've done well by you. :)

Tina's TBR I believe I'll be visiting your TBR because I saw some very interesting books.
Comfort FoodI am totally drawn to this book so I think you should read it and tell me if it's as good as the synopsis.
Rooms: A NovelSomething tells me this book will be almost as powerful as The Shack.

My TBR
Someone to Watch Over Me I put off reading the Bow Street Runners series because someone told me the Hathways and Wallflowers were better. I found out these books were actually the link between the Gamblers and The Wallflowers.
The Time Traveler's Wife I saw the movie so I've been procastinating about the book

New to you
Covet I enjoyed this book although it isn't tied closely to the BDB series
Sweet Surrender I think you'd like this one because I saw others on your lists in the BDSM erotica arena

Happy reading!!

message 131: by Becky (last edited Oct 29, 2010 07:12PM) (new)

Becky (beckysbusyreading) | 258 comments LethalLovely (I did check out both your TBR shelves) I hope you find something of interest here, if not let me know and I can make some new picks.

Your TBR list
Love in the Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas
I was surprised at how much I liked this book and a great way to end the series.

The Proposition by Judith Ivory.
This is the only book I have read from this author and now I look forward to the next time I pick up one of her books.

New to you
The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
This is the first book I read by this author (I read it in Oct) and really liked it. I am not normally a contemp romance girl but it was such a quick and funny read.

The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie by Jennifer Ashley
I adore Ian, he has Asperger's Syndrome and it makes him so perfect. Really an amazing read.

From my TBR
Demon from the Dark by Kresley Cole. You also have this on your TBR. I have loved this series and I see you have read it also, so might as well get caught up before the next book comes out.

The Devil Wears Plaid by Teresa Mederios

message 132: by Gail (last edited Oct 29, 2010 08:26AM) (new)

Gail Distefano | 37 comments Hi Corrupt

Here is what I have picked for you
Your TBR

Crave I read covet and thought it was a great book. Many who have read Crave tell me it is better than Covet.

An Unforgettable Lady My friend gave me this to read. She really enjoyed it.

My TBR

Secret Daughter This book has gotten rave reviews. I am looking forward to reading this one myself

Water for Elephants. This book will son be in movie form. I will for sure go to see it but RPatt is in the movie and I am a huge fan of his hotness so I would like to read this book soon!

New To You

The Search This book is one of the best Nora books I have ever read. If you like dogs you will really really appreciate this one.

Night Embrace (Dark-Hunter, #2) I can not say enough about this series. I love this author and this series. I chose this book even though it isnt the first book becasue it is early in and its a good one to start with. It sells for only five bucks at any book store. I believe that was done to entice readers to pick it up and try the series.

I hope you enjoy the picks I ahve made for you.

If I were to pick one of the six I would say try the Kenyon Book. She is my favorite paranormal author .

Happy reading

Thanks Leslie I love Donna Kauffman. I will probably seek out that one. BUt also Orcid has been on my shelf for a while screaming to be read.

message 134: by BJ Rose (new)

BJ Rose (bjrose) | 4413 comments Valerie, I had fun looking through your TBR; most of the books there are totally new to me! Here are two that I rated 5*

Your TBR
Conspiracy Game by Christine Feehan - I noticed you read the first three, and this book and the next one are really good. They're the stories of the Norton brothers - this one is Jack's story and Deadly Game is Ken's story

Caressed By Ice is the 3rd book in Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series, and really pulls the heartstrings on the after-effects of what happened to Brenna.

New to You
Aunt Dimity's Death is the first book in Nancy Atherton's series of cozy-mysteries involving Aunt Dimity, of course. Light-hearted and fun - I've read two of them so far, and enjoyed them both.
Garden Spells - I didn't see any Sarah Addison Allen books on your shelves, so here's your chance to enjoy the magic of her books (yes, there's some light magic in all of them. If you can't find this one, go for The Girl Who Chased the Moon

My TBR
Then Came Heaven by LaVyrle Spencer is on your TBR and mine - how serendipitous is that?! I'll be reading it this month - maybe you'll join me?
Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean - this has been recommended on several threads, so I have to check it out - this will be my first McLean book.

Hope one or more of these work for you!

message 135: by Desperado (new)

Desperado (lethallovely) | 822 comments Uh-oh. BJ Rose, if I'm not mistaken, we're picking for the same person. At first, I figured it might be two different Valerie's, but when I clicked to the names, they linked to the same person.

message 136: by Melissa (last edited Oct 29, 2010 08:17AM) (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments Nairabell...

From Your TBR:

Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella...I read this in July of '09 and I still smile when I think of it, I was actually surprised when I looked up when I read it that it was that long ago because I still remember it well...for me, that's a good book!

Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr...I have read the first three in this series and definitely recommend giving it a try...it's a dark, tragic love story that reads more like urban fantasy than paranormal romance, good characters and world building

New To You:

Wraith by Phaedra Weldon...this is urban fantasy with a female lead that does astral projection to spy for a living...very unique series, one of my favorites

Spying in High Heels by Gemma Halliday...I noticed you like mysteries, as do I, so I am recommending this series, fun, fast, good plot, the first of 5 or 6

From My TBR:

Magic to the Bone by Devon Monk...I'm planning on reading this for the Urban Fantasy group read in November, saw you were a member of that group as well, so I'm giving you an easy pick in case the other's don't work out!

The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan...I actually bought this and it's sequel this summer and have yet to open them up! I have heard fantastic things about this series and am intrigued by the concept of a zombie apocalypse. I just might give it a try this month, too.

Hope you find something you feel like reading...can't wait to see what you choose to try!

2. American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld
3. The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

New to You
I went to my Best Books Ever shelf and chose:
1. Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt, a memoir of growing up dirt poor in Ireland. You will laugh and cry. I have read this three times, and I typically don't re-read anything.
2. The Secret History by Donna Tartt, a murder mystery involving students at an exclusive college. This book is mesmerizing.

From my TBR
1. Geek Love by Katherine Dunn
2. One Day by David Nicholls

Enjoy!

message 139: by Anja (new)

Anja | 40 comments Hi, Amber.

From Your TBR:
1. A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole is the first book in this series that I love. It isn’t necessary to read the prequel novella first but if you want to you can find it free online. This is also the book that most fans of the series say is their favorite.

2. Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs by Molly Harper is hilarious. This is the first in a trilogy and lots of fun.

New To You:
1. Beyond the Night by Joss Ware is the first in this series. I pimped this book last month and will continue to do so in order to keep the author writing this series. It has a unique post-apocalyptic world and really good writing. The first book is good but lighter on the romance than the rest in the series. I thought that would bother me but I loved the world so much that I was still happy with it. The romances get better as the series progresses but the world is awesome from the first.

2. Burning Alive by Shannon K. Butcher is the first in the series. I really like this series and the world created in it. The author is great at action oriented books while maintaining the romance. I’m currently reading the third in this series and will read the fourth when it gets released next week.

From My TBR (and yours):
1. Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh is going to be read by me in November for another challenge. I finally decided to see what all the hype for this series is about. I’ve heard this first book is the favorite for a lot of people. With nine books released there is no wait if I end up getting hooked.

2. Warrior by Zoë Archer is getting a lot of positive buzz and I am hoping to read this for the same challenge as the Singh book.

message 140: by Amber (last edited Oct 29, 2010 12:30PM) (new)

Amber | 58 comments Kerste - Here are my picks for you! I hope you're inspired by them :)

Two from your TBR
Moon Called I was so excited this was at the top of your list. I thought to myself, this is going to be easy!
Pleasure Unbound I really think you'll like this book. It's not just PNR, but pretty steamy, as it's about sex demons.

Two which are new to you
Playing With Fire I love Katie MacAlister and noticed you haven't read anything by her. As far as I'm concerned, if you see a different book by her which you might like more, go ahead and take it. She has some non-PNR stuff, but 95% of her books are awesome! Funny and romantic :)
The Shop on Blossom Street This is the first book in Debbie Macomber's Blossom Street series. I like that she mixes the main characters with women of different ages and backgrounds supporting each other through life's difficulties.

Two from my TBR (which may encourage me to read along) I picked two books which were on both of our TBR lists.
Succubus on Top I have this book listed for a challenge this month, so I plan on reading it.
Water for Elephants This is a book recommended to me by someone from my Lions Club after I chaired the circus committee this summer. If you pick this book, I'll read it with you, as it will motivate me to read it, but I tend to read fluffy romances or PNR.

Thanks, Anja! Your selections look great! I'm going to have problems deciding which one(s) to limit myself to next month with the other challenges I'm in. :D

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Elizabeth,
I have a couple of minutes over lunch and wanted to get your picks to you as soon as possible. Hope there is something here you will like. I went with four new to you books as my TBR shelf is non-existent.

From Your TBR:
1. One for the Money by Janet Evanovich - the only one from your TBR that I've read. The series is light and amusing. The heroine is a bit TSTL for me, but there are certainly some LOL moments as well.
2. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson - I haven't read it yet. Several people I know that I respect their book opinions have said it is slow and hard to get into. But once you do it will stick with you for some time.

New to You:
1. Breathing Room by Susan Elizabeth Phillips - SEP is one of my favorite authors right now. This is a decent introduction to her.
2. Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie - Crusie is another light and fun romance author who you should give a shot.
3. Too Much Temptation by Lori Foster - same thing, different author. This also goes along with the plus-sized heroine theme you have going in several books on you TBR.
4. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen - Not a romance book and certainly from left field, but an excellent read that I think you would like.

If there isn't something here for you, let me know and I'll try again.

Christine (Cagnes) (cagnes) | 118 comments Hi Diane ~Firefly~! Here are my picks for you, hope you find something you like! :)

From your TBR
1. The Viscount Who Loved Me or The Duke And I by Julia Quinn. I loved this series! The Viscount Who Loved Me is the 2nd in the series & you didn't have the 1st book listed as read, so I included both. I recommend reading The Duke and I first, if you haven't read it yet.
2.Kiss of the Highlander by Karen Marie Moning (loved it!) This is the 4th in the Highland series & I didn't notice that you've read any others from the series. These can be read as stand alones if you'd like, but you're welcome to read any in this series.

New To You
1. The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons. It's a long book, but it's one of my all time favorites!
2. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen (another all time favorite of mine)

From My TBR (and yours)
1. Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake by Sarah MacLean. It's been on my TBR list for a while & I'll be reading this one in November for another challenge.
2. Goddess of the Hunt by Tessa Dare. ... loved her Stud Club series, hope this series is good as well.

Hotter After Midnight by Cynthia Eden - A fast-paced, sexy PNR that involves an alpha shifter and a shrink for the Others.

Moon Called by Patricia Briggs - Meet Mercy Thompson, one of my favorite UF heroines.

Books that are New to You

Red Fire by Deidre Knight - if you like hot Spartan warriors, you should check this new series out.

Eternal Pleasure by Nina Bangs - a different twist in the 'shifter' concept.

Books common in our TBR

Tempt Me with Darkness by Shayla Black - I like her Wicked Lovers series, so I thought I'll check out her PNR series

Elke (ejurca) | 1810 comments Hi Sasha! Here are your picks…Hope one of them suits you! Happy Reading!!

From Your TBR
Something About You by Julie James: Sounds intriguing, I will be definitely adding this to my TBR!
Dangerous Highlander by Donna Grant: This one sounds yummy…the cover sure is! :)

New To You
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson: First of the trilogy. I actually just finished this book. It is true that it is a little slow and it does take quite some to get into it..but it is worth it!
Truth Or Dare by Lori Foster: Lori is one of my favorite authors! This book has 3 fabulous/juicy stories about 3 best friends….I couldn’t put it down!
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini: A very different book from what I see in your lists. Even though it is a historical fiction book, it did open my eyes to a different world!

My TBR (and yours)
Soulless by Gail Carriger: This one has been recommended to me a few times…I am finally going to read it next!
Ten Ways to Be Adored When Landing a Lord by Sarah MacLean: Read the first one and loved it….hopefully this one will be good as well!

Tatiana (tatiana_g) Hi Sherri!

We have only one book in common on our TBRs (Shadowfever), so I will have to give you recommendations in two categories.

Your TBR

1) Poison Study - this is a great romantic fantasy.

2) Halfway to the Grave - everyone is in love with Bones and his green eyes.

3) Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) - the last book in the Vampire Academy series will be out in a couple of months. Maybe you need a push to catch up on the series?

Not on your TBR

4) Glass Houses - you seem to have a few Rachel Caine books on your TBR, maybe you will enjoy her paranormal YA series?

5) Real Murders - this is the first book in the only Charlain Harris's series you haven't read.

6) Kitty and the Midnight Hour - an UF series new to you.

Enjoy!

If none of this looks appealing to you, please let me know and I will do some more work.

KimKirt | 1638 comments Hi Annvelwis!

I enjoyed going through your books and I hope one of my recs below appeals to you, so here you go:

From your TBR:

1. Cry No More by Linda Howard. I've recommended this one several times before. It falls into the category of "walking around in a fog after I finished it" type of book for me. Romantic Suspense.

2. He Loves Lucy by Susan Donovan. This is a fluffy lighthearted romance that I just loved. Basically about a girl who falls in love with her trainer and vice versa. Very cute. Contemporary Romance.

New to you:

3. Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie. I saw where you had read some books by Jennifer Crusie but not this one. This is my favorite out of all of hers that I have read. Contemporary Romance.

4. My Sunshine by Catherine Anderson. I saw you've read one of Catherine Anderson's books as well. This is one of my favorites of hers. She writes such sweet and endearing romances. Contemporary Romance.

From my TBR:

5. I Love Yous Are for White People: A Memoir by Lac Suc. This just looks like a powerful read to me and so I thought I would share.

6. My So-Called Afterlife by Tamsyn Murray. I was disappointed that my library doesn't carry this book because I REALLY want to read it, it looks like a lot of fun. I will probably break down and buy it.

Okay, so there you go. Hopefully you can find something of interest in this bunch. Looking forward to seeing what you pick!

Kim

We have so much books in common! I hope you like my recs.

The Iron Hunt - It´s a very good book! I like the characters very much.

Slave to Sensation - I simply love this series! Nalini is a wonderful writer and the universe she creates for this serie is fantastic!

2. New to You:

The Darkest Night- I saw you have some of Gena Showalter´s books in you TBR, but not this serie. It´s a wonderful reading!

The Missing - Shiloh is a writer that I discover through this chalenge! And now she is becoming a favorite. This book is very good - romance and suspense very well balanced.

Francesca the Fierce (Under the Covers Book Blog) | 164 comments Hi ~Ang~ The Saucy Aussie!

We actually have a lot of books in common, and you had so many in your TBR pile that I've read it was actually kinda hard to just pick 2!!! Anyway, here's my choices hopefully one of these can work out for you! I tried to give you options in paranormal and also romance books.

From Your TBR
1. Covet by J.R. Ward - This was a good story. Well written, I really like J.R. Ward's way of writing and I think you'll enjoy this series.
2. Tempted by Megan Hart - All I have to say is I'm in love with Alex! These are great characters, the storyline was well written, it's fun and sexy, and you can get really involved in it, but *warning* it's not a fluffy, happy story, however it's a great read!
Extra
3. Laid Bare by Lauren Dane - I can't believe you haven't read this series! It's really really good!

New To You
1. My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent - Even though this is YA, I thought it was a refreshing story about a character that we are not used to reading, so you can give this a shot. However, I do recommend reading the free short story My Soul to Lose first.
2. Serengeti Heat by Vivi Andrews - This is a fun shifter story.
Extra
3. Seducing Jane Porter by Dominique Adair - A pretty sexy read, it's the first book in a series of 3, and each one continues the story pretty much where the last one ends.

From My TBR
1. Moon Called by Patricia Briggs - I'll actually be reading this book in November as part of a different challenge.
2. Red-Headed Stepchild by Jaye Wells - Have heard really good things about this.
Extra
3. Riding the Night by Jaci Burton - I loved this series as I see you did too, and I have been dying to read this one!

Covet (The Fallen Angels, #1) by J.R. Ward Tempted by Megan Hart Laid Bare (Brown Siblings, #1) by Lauren Dane My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers, #1) by Rachel Vincent Serengeti Heat (Serengeti Shifters, #1) by Vivi Andrews Seducing Jane Porter (Jane Porter, #1) by Dominique Adair Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs Red-Headed Stepchild (Sabina Kane, #1) by Jaye Wells Riding the Night (Wild Riders, #5) by Jaci Burton

Charlotte (Buried in Books) | 561 comments Hi Sandy,

I had a great time going through your TBR and Read shelves. Hope I've found something that you'll like.

Your TBR
2 of my favourite books:
Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie, so much fun and very sexy (the mayor is yummy).
Soulless by Gail Carriger, a great series. My first experience of steampunk was wonderful, I love the victorian era - this book has a great sense of humour and a very sexy werewolf (I'd also thoroughly recommend Shiver if you want a really good love story).

New To You
Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, I notice that you've read some books by this author.
Storm Front by Jim Butcher. I like Harry's sense of humour (I imagine him as an older Harry Potter that's taken a few wrong turns).

From my TBR
Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian, I've heard really good things about this series.
The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher: Or The Murder at Road Hill House by Kate Summerscale, true crime from the 1800's. Reviews of this seem to be mixed so I'm interested to get feedback on it.
