I finished The Devil Wears Plaid today & it was amazing! I'm a big Medeiros fan but her latest books have been a little disappointing for me lately. But she went back to her roots with TDWP. I'm so very happy you pushed me into finally reading this!
BTW, I checked out The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie too. Hopefully I'll be able to read it by the deadline. Again, thanks!

I am so happy you like it. I have it on my TBR and I plan to read it next month, knowing you liked it will help me pick it up faster. I hope you do get to read about Ian, it really is a great book!

I finished Tithe this afternoon and would give it 3 1/2 stars. I thought they took a long time to get to the main plot (but then I often feel books are underedited these days). I liked the "hero" but none of the characters are particularly likeable--even though that indeed may be the point. The last third of the book flew for me--suspenseful and I wanted to know what was going to happen. I would probably read the next one in the series (although I'd probably read the third one first).

I like light and fluffy contemporaries, so I'm trying to struggle through this. I just renewed it for two more weeks. If I can't get it done in that time, I might give up.

Thanks for the recommendation. I finished High Stakes a few days ago. I liked it. It's a good light paranormal romance. It's a series I will continue.

Glad you liked it Sandy.

Thanks again for your recommendations - I just finished Say No To Joe? and enjoyed it more than I expected to. You also introduced me to a new-to-me author; this was my first Lori Foster book.

I finished Three Days to Dead late last night and I really enjoyed it. I do love UF so this was right up my alley. I liked all the different takes on all the "Dregs". Decent plot and a great way to start a series. I will definitely be reading the next one. Thanks so much for the recommendation because I never would have found the book otherwise and that would have been a shame!
I am still planning on reading Perfect Chemistry, I am just waiting for whoever beat me to it at the library to return it!

Also, I don't know if you had the chance to this month, but I finished Kiss of Midnight & it took me a while to get into, but I ended up really enjoying it!
Can't wait to see what you think of Perfect Chemistry :D

I just finished reading The Alchemist and I loved it! It's different from anything I've ever read and it's a story that I will not easily forget. So many times I start reading a book and halfway through the first chapter I realize I've already read it :) Thankfully Goodreads is around to prevent that in the future but this is the kind of story that stays with you.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when you get to it!
I'm in the middle of reading In Cold Blood: A True Account of a Multiple Murder and Its Consequences, but it's not the type of story I can read in one sitting. I have to do it in small doses; it's more than a little disturbing!!!
Thanks for the excellent recommendations (again)!

I am glad you like it. I love the Cynster series!!

I still haven't received The Hunger Games that I was planning on reading for the challenge, so I think if I don't get it soon, I will read The Duke And I by Julia Quinn.

Also, I don't..."
Good to know about the sequel. With all the fake outs on the who was responsible for all the mayhem in the first book, I can see how remembering details could be important.
I'm finishing up two quick YA reads that are due back to the library (my daughter and I read a lot of the same books at the same time) and then I will give Kiss of Midnight a go while waiting for Perfect Chemistry. I still can't believe I missed it! It was probably being checked out just as I looked it up in the online catalogue because I went to the library within an hour of looking it up.

I have The Alchemist on audiobook (read by Jeremy Irons.) I should pick it up one of these days!

D.G., The Alchemist is great, a truly inspirational book and a fast read!

I'm so pleased you liked it, I will have to read it after the book I'm reading now, I am looking forward to it. I thought In Cold Blood might be quite disturbing, you'll have to let me know what you think when you've finished it :)

I ended up going with The Vampire Queen's Servant because I couldn't find Blood Price at the used book store. I've got it on my list of things to keep ..."
I'd put my copy of Blood Price up on bookswap but I already lent it to somebody else..if I get it back I'll put it up and let you know.
Glad you liked your recommendation. I thought that would be the right book for you. LOL

If you can catch Blood ties on TV, they stayed fairly close to the book.

From your TBR:

Thenia, thank you so much for all the wonderful recommendations, I've read Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles and loved it. I think I might give Trudi Canavan a try next with her Magicians' Guild.

I finally got my copy of The Shadow of the Wind. I'm about to start reading it, and hoping I'll finish it before the month ends.

It's a library book. So either I do or I don't. I've already renewed it once, so I'll give myself to the next due date. Stay tuned . . .

I loved this book. I have the next book and I'm looking forward to starting that one!

Ditto!

Thanks for the rec :)"
Yeah I loved it too. Glad it was a hit!

Ditto!"
Annie, I read a few pages last night! I'm determined to get it done by the end of the month!

Hey KimKirt - I've got about 50 pages to go! So can report back tomorrow, I think.
My reading time used to be on the bus to and from work - but now I carpool into work, and tonight will be catching the bus home with my sister. So, my reading time has reduced to when I'm sitting on the balcony having a cigarette (bad me) - so 5 minutes every hour or so...
Too busy knitting socks for presents at the moment to read!

I finished my pick and here are my thoughts.

There were a lot of things I liked about it and I'd say it's closer to a 4 star rati..."
I'm glad you liked it -- I do agree that Rain isn't at his best in the first book, and maybe it does have a "wannabee epic" feel to it, but I thought that Wilson pulled it off fairly well, considering there are very few fantasy series that have such a degree of romance in them.. Most of the ones that I've read revolve mainly around the fantastic element, and not the romance like the Tairen Soul does:-) I think you'll enjoy the second book better --- Rain has more appearances, and all the characters get "fleshed out":-) I hope you'll have time to read Kiss an Angel (IMO, SEP's best book!)

Knew I shouldn't have signed up for it.....

Hey.. I'd give Halfway to the Grave another shot.. It really picks up around chapter 3 or 4, if memory serves, and is a fabulous series:-) But then again, that's my opinion:-)
