All the choices looked good but I'm going to try to read both [book:The Alchemist and In Cold Blood: A True Account of a Multiple Murder and Its Consequences. The new to me ones are now in my TBR if I have time this month. If not, I will definitely read them sometime in the future.
Thanks!
Hello Charlotte, here are your picks for November. I hope you enjoy whichever you choose! From your TBR:
This one was the hardest for me since there were so many books that I loved on your list. You seem to really enjoy fantasy and mystery so I narrowed it down to
Mistborn: The Final Empire and
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
New to you:
You have the Dragonlance Chronicles listed which is really good but my favourite fantasy series is the Belgariad starting with Pawn of Prophecy.
For a paranormal/urban fantasy you might like Magic Bites.
Our TBR:
These books are on both of our TBR's and come highly recommended on Goodreads.
Halfway to the Grave
Good Omens
Sorry, I just realized that all but one of the choices are the start of a series. I hope you don't mind!
SheSwitches wrote: I'm going to try and hunt down a paper copy of Blood Price because it does sound good. If my search is bust, I'll go with Greywalker or The Vampire Queen's Servant....or maybe the Christopher Moore! LOL That really was some good rec'ing. :D ."I'm glad you liked the rec's You could probably get a used copy pretty easily or a copy from the library of Blood Price
Tatiana, we don’t have many books in common in TBR shelf. I hope there’s something you’ll enjoy reading below.Your TBR
1. Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey – although I have not read this book, I heard it recommended many times. It is said that the world building and character development are amazing and riveting.
2. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card – I haven’t read this one either. But my friend tells me it’s great sci-fi story. The world building is excellent and the politics is intriguing.
New to You
3. Daring Chloe by Laura Jensen Walker – I got this as a free kindle book. It’s about a woman in her 20’s whose fiancé just dump her the day before her wedding via a text message. This story is about her discovering herself and broadening her horizon. She and her bookclub friends enact adventures from the books they read. Some of the adventure includes hiking, sailing, going on blind dates, a trip to Paris and cooking lessons. I love reading about a book lover.
4. The Iron King by Julie Kagawa – I just finished reading this young adult fantasy book for another challenge. It’s a fantastic read about a 16 years old girl who venture into the faeryland to save her brother. Along the way, she learns more about herself, her family and her best friend.
My TBR
5. Warrior by Zoe Archer - the adventures and suspense sounds like my type of story.
6. Aunt Dimity's Death by Nancy Atherton - this sounds like a good mystery.
Hi, AshleyAlexisHope there work for you.
Your TBR
One Foot in the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella
My TBR
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the Westby Gregory Maguire
Crave by JR Ward
Trust Me on This by Jennifer Crusie

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Hi Sara,
Thanks for the recommendations, I'll probably go with Halfway to the Grave, but I've just ordered Pawn of Prophecy and Magic Bites, so I might change my mind when they arrive.
Starting a new series is never a bad thing!!!
Hi D.G., here are my recs for you:From your TBR:
1.Ruthless - I've just finished reading this one and it is great! If you feel like reading a HR with a bad boy hero, this is perfect!
2.Just the Sexiest Man Alive - read this one a month ago and remember it was a wonderful contemporary romance, really, really fun and cute, i couldn't stop until i finished it.
New to you:
3.Menage - an erotica read with a heart and a story.
4.Eragon - in the hopes that you like some epic fantasy, this one is great and there are already 3 books and one more to come out in this series.
From my TBR:
5.Perfect Chemistry - i understand that this is a sweet YA, very touching and well written; i'm saving it for when i'm really bored with all my usual reads and i need something to jolt me out and make me feel for the characters.
6.On the Edge - i see that you haven't tried Ilona Andrews yet, she is a wonderful fantasy and UF writer, her Kate Daniels series is amazing, haven't tried this one, but i hear it's just as great.
I hope you will find something here to interest you, i am a little nervous because i saw that some books i really loved you didn't like, but i hope these will be ok. Also, i tried to provide different genres because i select my next reading depending on what type of books i'm in the mood for, so hopefully you'll find something here that you'll like.

Hi, Coffeentea,
Thank you for the rec's. I think it's about time for me to read Ender's Game
Thenia, wow i love your recs, i can see that you've really put an effort into this, going through my read books and trying to find out what i like. I actually love the few fantasy books i've read, but i'm not a connoisseur and i don't even know where to start finding other great fantasy reads, so thank you so much for the Trudi Canavan series suggestion, i'll check it out. It's so cool that i've made my recs for DG and recommended Perfect Chemistry to her from my tbr, and now i see that you've recommended it to me too! I definitely will read it, but as i said before i'm saving it as a treat. :)So, lots of wonderful choices, thanks again!
Book coices for Elke2 from your TBR:
The Host
The Undomestic Goddess
2 new to you:
Indiscretion
The Birth of Venus
2 from my TBR:
The Blessing
Just Like Beauty: A Novel
Hope you like these choices!
Becca :)
Heya Sasha, Thanks for the list!
I've ordered Next and The Way Of Shadows from my library, they look really good! I'll try and get them to buy at least one or two of the others :)
Rebecca :)

Thanks REbecca for the recs! I am going to go with The Undomestic Goddess since it is also part of another challenge!

Hi, SheSwitches
Thanks for the recs!
I think I`m going to read Keep Promise Rock and maybe Crossing Boards - I loved the blurb!
Ari wrote: "Sandy:Great picks! I need to start reading outside my little cornered in box xD. So I'ma try Secret History, and the Handmaid's tale."
Ari, I hope you enjoy them! They are both "different" and not a little creepy. :-)
AnjaEven though our book comparison says we're 70% compatible, I was a bit amazed when I looked through your read books. Hope that you find something in my recommendations that appeals to you. If not, let me know and I'll try again.
From Your TBR:
Dear Prince Charming - I really enjoy all of Donna Kauffman's books and this one is no exception. Her characters are strong, the dialogue is witty and I love the Godmothers.
Outlander - This is an amazing epic journey. I enjoy the perspective of a "modern" heroine on an essentially historical fiction novel. I enjoy both the hero and the heroine as well as the history, botany and overall story.
New to You:
The Husband Test - Reading through the many classic romance authors and historical romances you have enjoyed made me think of this book for you. The heroine is smart and sassy, the hero is cursed, but good at heart. There is a mystery and a heart-wrenching twist. It seems like it might be right up your alley.
Bad Attitude - So I see you have tried some SK, one paranormal and one futuristic and you didn't hate them. I'm going to go out on a bit of a limb and recommend this contemporary law enforcement novel. This is the first in the series.
From My TBR:
The Lady Chosen - This seems in line with your interests and it's the first in the series.
This Charming Man - you already have Marian Keyes on your TBR and this was recommended to me in a past Pick it for me Challenge.
If I had to pick one for you, it'd probably be The Husband Test or Dear Prince Charming
Enjoy!

Thanks for the recos, Miss! You must have read my mind because I've been wanting to read Ruthless but I haven't been able to fit it in any other challenge. I'll also read the Julie James because I think I can fit it in the Montlhy challenge. ;)
The rest of your recommendations look awesome too so I added them to my lists on PBS so I can get my hands on them. I always like getting recommendation of books that weren't on my radar and I loved that you actually recommended me all different genres. :) I read pretty much everything but I've started on UF and Fantasy in the last year...so I'm definitely looking forward to those!
Which books you liked that I rated poorly? I'm dying to know! I'm very stingy with the 5 stars but all my 3 stars are books I've liked...
Amber wrote: "Kerste - Here are my picks for you! I hope you're inspired by them :)Two from your TBR

Okay, I'm gonna try Moon Called and you asked for it: Water for Elephants - this has been on my tbr for quite a while, it'd be fun to depart from the pnr and read along with you, if you want. I also put succubus on top on hold at the library, but i'm gonna start with the first two i mentioned.
and i've got two katie macallister's on deck in my house right now, so i'll be reading those two this month, too!
I'll check back in when water for elephants arrives from the library.
Thanks for the great recs!
Kerste wrote: "AnjaEven though our book comparison says we're 70% compatible, I was a bit amazed when I looked through your read books."
Dare I ask what amazed you?
Thanks for the picks. Dear Prince Charming jumped out at me immediately and I think I will read that for this challenge. I've owned the book for more than four years so getting it off my shelves would be great. And I could use a light, funny book at this time.
I added Bad Attitude to my TBB. I've never even heard of this series. I thought SK only did the paranormal and futuristic books. If I finish my other challenges for November, I will try to read it this month as well.
Looks like some great recommendations out there so far. Not everyone has checked in yet, but we have gotten down to less than 20 to go, yeah :)Still have until the 2nd to make the recommendations.
Hiya Pam! :3 Your TBR
I've been wanting to read these two for AGES :D
The Graveyard Book - I actually own this one, buuut I haven't gotten to reading it yet. I've heard a lot of good stuff about it though!
Poison Study - Don't own this yet, but I've seen it in the shop a thousand times, and I'm going to buy it when I can :3 It sounds really good too, so read it!
My TBR
Tithe - Been wanting to read this for ages as well (: Looks awesome.
Barry Trotter and the Unauthorized Parody - Well I saw that you liked HP :D And I really want to read this xD
New To You
The Hunger Games - This was a REALLY awesome book.. You have to read it! .. Or else :_:
A Great and Terrible Beauty - A really cool trilogy :3 .. I should get my hands on it and read it again :3
The Princess and the Captain - Another fantastic book C: I've only read it once (Should probably fix that!) but it left an impression. And I also like that it's a standalone book, and not another trilogy or whatsit. It's like every book nowadays is part of a series.. (And I'm not even sure why I don't like this.. but yea :3)
~*~ I really wish you were French :_: Or Estonian or something. There's a fabulous trilogy in French (Which is translated into Estonian) that I want to recommend, but I don't think it's been translated to English yet /:
Well, let me know what you choose C:
Sabrina Fair wrote: "Melanie wrote: "Hi Sabrina!I hope you find something you like here, if you don't let me know, I have so many recs:-) There are more than six, sorry, but only because I couldn't narrow it down mor..."
I'm glad you found something you're interested in Sabrina! If you want one or two more recs, I'd tell you to read City of Bones (1st in a great YA series), Trial by Fire (hot firefighter and a gutsy curvy heroine), and I've also been wanting to read Burning Alive by Shannon K. Butcher (I loved her RS trilogy!)...
Yeah, otherwise I have a hard time reading a french book in English, lol... too weird! I'm working on Swahili, and want to start Arabic or Russian classes when I move to the US in 2011:-)
Lol.. I feel the same about Outlander, but I promised myself I'd read it by the end of the year:-)
I'm glad you picked Kiss an Angel and (eventually) Lord of the Fading Lands, they're both amazing:-) Enjoy!
Corrupt wrote: "Hi, AshleyAlexisHope there work for you..."
Hey Corrupt thanks foe the Recs. You're the third person to suggest The Hunger Games to me. hmm. Well the two books I'll probably be reading are Crave and One Foot in the Grave I've got them both on order at the library so they should come in before the end of the month ^.^
Swahili...seriously!! Melanie you are insane!! I do agree with the arabic though...that is what I would like to learn (or Farsi)Melanie wrote: "Sabrina Fair wrote: "Melanie wrote: "Hi Sabrina!

Well, Russian is actually quite easy :3 The alphabet is a piece of cake, and the rest is just.. memorizing words and grammar :DI'm not saying I'm good at it.. But if you actually WANT to learn it, it won't be hard C:
Can't say anything about Swahili or Arabic though xD
I know some spoken arabic...its hard, but do-able...I wish I had had the opportunity to learn more while I was deployed, but i'm trying to find a local place right now that teaches it (without having to take an official college course)
I started on Swahili when I was in Tanzania, and have kept it up... enough for small conversations:-) I actually learned the Russian alphabet when I was 9, but I just donàt have the time to actually learn Russian.. As for Arabic or Farsi, I would definitely need classes, lol..
Hi D.G., actually we have 71% compatibility, and that's not too bad seeing that i give 4 stars easily, and a 3 star for me is just an ok read. Hmmm, i feel like some of the books i've read which i've rated 5 stars are not all equally awesome, for example i haven't read a book like The Name of the Wind in maybe forever, truly amazing!Let me see, i am a big fan of JD Robb's In Death series, and i saw that you didn't like the first book too much and haven't continued with the series.
I see now that some of the books i've noticed you gave 3 stars so that's not too bad with your rating system.
Other books that i loved, and you gave 2 stars too: Dead Until Dark, Nine Rules to Break When Romancing a Rake... and that's about it, there were some others, but not that memorable. :)
4 stars are books I really, really liked...3 stars are for books I liked. I wrote a lenghty review as to why I didn't like 9 Rules - mostly, I'm a veteran Historical Romance reader and some of the themes seemed cookie cutter to me. :) But I know that's not the case with almost everybody here. I think I'm the only one who didn't like the book!
I haven't read that one yet, but cookie cutter historicals are ok with me as long as they are done well. May have to read that one soon.

Always appreciated Debbie.Just as a quick heads up for those interested - October Pick It For Me Challenge ended with 51/69 completing the challenge. A good number to be sure, but I hope we can blow that 51 out of the water this month.

Hello Becky,Here are my picks for you. I hope you find something you will enjoy.
Your TBR:
Catching Fire - I loved this series. You must keep going.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - It took me three tries before I was able to get into this book as it has a very slow beginning. It is definitely worth it. I am now addicted to the series. Not exactly romance although there is an element of it.
New to You:
Shiver - Again, this is a series I am addicted to. Since you liked Twilight, you should enjoy it.
Wings - Sorry to overwhelm you with YA series but I have read a lot of good ones recently.
My TBR:
Desire - It appears that you like historical romance. Nicole Jordan's series are some of my favorites in that genre.
Lock and Key - I think you have read Dessen in the past. I don't recall how you rated that book but this one is intriguing to me.
Enjoy!
Hi Jim!Thank you for being so patient with me! Here's the books I picked to for you. Hope something in this list sounds good to you ;)
Since you had no books in your TBR, I went ahead and picked 4 books that looked like they'd be new for you:
New To You-
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo- I didn't read this book, but thought the movie was fast paced and fantastic.
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest- another book by this same author ;)
Undone- Read this book and thought it was fantastic. Not really a love story, but crime.
Morning Glory- Loved every minute of this book. I thought it was a beautiful love story.
From my To Be Read-
Outlander-This has been sitting on my shelf for over a year. I've heard great things about this story.
Lake News- This author was recommended to me. So. . ;)
