same I am so behind

message 55: by Shawna (new)

Shawna Finnigan I've read three of them but I've got a lot of catching up to do

message 56: by Isabel (new)

Isabel I have read four and have 10 on my to read list. I have been slacking on reading so this is a good reminder to get on it.

message 57: by lem◍nade (new)

lem◍nade I read one book from this list, Caraval, which I totally recommend :)

message 58: by Dotti (new)

Dotti I have read 11 and 5 more on my to read list!

message 59: by R (new)

R G Addie Larue was the #2 book of 2020, but did not win a Choice Award in its category. Lost out to the #8 book. Perhaps the reason was that it was published later in the year, and didn’t have enough readers at the time of the vote.

Mary Cunningham Bonnie G. wrote: "I have read 18 of these. It surprises me how many I have read since I don't gravitate to bestsellers. There are four 2-star reads among the 18 and one I disliked too much to finish so I didn't give..."

Oooh and we'd love to know the book you quit.

message 61: by Yang (new)

Yang I read 41 out of 60. Wow that's a lot right lol.

message 62: by Evisatho (new)

Evisatho Poji Just 3 but happy to participate.

message 63: by CL (new)

CL Good to know I’ve read a few of them on here. Lmao.

message 64: by Lee-Anne (new)

Lee-Anne 17 for me and will likely finish another two from this list before the end of the year. Great choices!

message 65: by Danny (new)

Danny Cummings It’s rather interesting that 90% of these books are female-authored? Only 6/60 were written by men. Not that I have an issue with female authors—some of the best books I’ve read were written by women—but it definitely seems odd, especially considering that the wide majority of books on the NY Times Best-Seller List were authored by men. The only answer I can think of is that the majority of Goodreads members are women, and women tend to gravitate more towards books written by other women, while male readers—generally—don’t have a preference for one gender over another. Thoughts?

message 66: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Spurgeon I’ve read 31 of these and they were all really good. I’ll have to work my way thru the rest of this list!

Audiophile Audrey Whoot hoot! I've read 👏32👏 titles from the list. All were awesome reads.

Audiophile Audrey ....and of the rest, all but 4 are on my TBR list.

message 69: by Julie (new)

Julie Miller 25!

Kayla Giang Elena wrote: "I haven't even read one book from the 2021 list T.T"

WHAT.

message 71: by A Home Library (new)

A Home Library - Book Reviews Nice! A lot of books to add to the list, most are recognized!

message 72: by Aga (new)

Aga Bailey Read 20 from the list. Not too bad. Many of them currently on my To Read List.

message 73: by Ann (new)

Ann I've only read five books from that list and only one from 2021 and I didn't fully love a single one of those.

message 74: by Joshua (new)

Joshua Dotson This list explains why Goodreads mostly seems to cater to women over 25. All of their lists, articles and other content seems to ignore the interests of a lot of "male" readers.

message 75: by Liz (new)

Liz Heather wrote: "Interestingly, the books from this list that I did read were some of my lowest rated books in those years. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it is good."

I can relate to that. I haven't read any on this list. Actually, I haven't really been visiting Goodreads until the past 6 months. And I've been surprised by a lot of the 'best books' lists and recommendations, that so few of them appeal to me. And many popular books I have read I've stopped reading the author. I guess I am marching to a different drum. [g]

message 76: by Anna (new)

Anna Harper I’ve read 20 of these!

message 77: by Pervinca (new)

Pervinca Out of the 30 that i know and have been in my tbr, i only managed to have read 7. Guess i should speed up ahhaha

message 78: by Elise (new)

Elise I've read 3. I guess I don't read what's popular. There are 12 I want to read though.

message 79: by RENE (new)

RENE Meh. Any science fiction fantasy?

message 80: by Bloss ♡ (new)

Bloss ♡ 60 Books Bankrolled with Aggressive Marketing Campaigns from the Past Five Years

FTFY.

message 81: by Peggy (new)

Peggy 27, and it's strange that the number for each year diminished as the years went by. Wonder if that was my taste changing or the quality of the books offered.

message 82: by Rafia (new)

Rafia I think I have only read three from there and honestly some of the books arent THAT great but hey… WHERE IS "You've reached Sam" ON HERE? Like what? huh?

message 83: by Linda (new)

Linda Powell I’ve read 28 but some really good books missing! Shuggie Bain?

message 84: by Karen (new)

Karen Fronterotta 26!

message 85: by Liz (new)

Liz I’ve read 17!

message 86: by Silverin (new)

Silverin I DNFd about 10 of these. The only one I finished was Mexican Gothic which I gave 3 stars.
Conclusion: I should stay away from popular books!

message 87: by Ashley (new)

Ashley I have read 6 of the books.

message 88: by Alex (new)

Alex I’ve read 17 of these and only loved 3 of them

Audiophile Audrey I've read 33 from this wonderful list of 60...

message 90: by Priya (new)

Priya Roy I've read so few of them :(. And most of them are on my TBR!!

message 91: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I have read 17 and plenty of TBR on there as well.

message 92: by abbycookrn (new)

abbycookrn Ive read 24 of these. And still have many I want to read from this list.

message 93: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl James I have read 10 of the books. Two of them I read twice and Four of them are on my tbr list.

message 94: by Jasmine (last edited Dec 27, 2021 09:55AM) (new)

Jasmine Whatever happened to the "most read" year lists? I feel like they keep hiding the data more and more... :(

message 95: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Leindecker I have read 8 of these and enjoyed them all except Such a Fun Age. I just didn't get into this one.
