Oh. My. God. I couldn't have loved this book more.

It was sweet, it was romantic, it made me cry, it made me hopeful, it made me bitter that there weren't books like this when I was growing up, but it made me so happy there are books like this now for those who need it.

Alex Claremont-Diaz is the First Son of the United States. His mother is finishing her first term as president and is gearing up for a bruising re-election fight, and his father is a congressman from California. Alex is quite a ce

I RECEIVED AN ARC OF THIS BOOK, I AM IN TEARS. This is basically a wholesome enemies-to-friends-to-lovers-tale featuring wholesome friendships and sibling relationships, and a whole lot of swoon-worthy scenes, witty banter, and … well, some things are best kept a surprise. ;)

The 2019 releases will be the death of me! XD

P.S: It sounds gay but hey, maybe there'll be a decent bi representation?! I guess I'll just have to find out once I read it. ;-)

I was lucky enough to have gotten an early copy of this book and OH BOY guys, get excited. This book is The Royal We meets My Date With the President’s Daughter with the heart and soul of Parks and Recreation.

Following an international incident at a royal wedding, Alex, The First Son of the United States, and Henry, Prince of Wales, are forced to pretend to be best friends to avoid an international scandal. Which wouldn’t be a problem, except Alex has despised Henry since an unfortunate inciden
How tf did this extremely cute Romance make me cry 3 times? Ugh, that was really good in ways I extremely did not see coming but am so happy about, particularly the bi rep.
Because you’re it, okay? I’m never gonna love anybody in the world like I love you.

I am astounded and scandalized, because how dare this book be so ADORABLE? Are things allowed to be this sappy and romantic? Is this government tested and approved???????? I feel personally liberated into the world of extremely adorable gay monogamy and I’m never leaving, I identify with this level of wholesome DEEPLY c: c: c: c:

I expected this to be cute and fun, but it was MINDBLOWINGLY GOOD and I am so excited to make everyone read it next year. It's hilarious and thoughtful and swoony and extremely well-written and has two of my favorite romance novel heroes ever as well as an amazing group of complex supporting characters. I would have happily lived in the world of this book forever.
Give yourself away sometimes, sweetheart. There's so much of you.

I've been reading versions of this book since its early stages, and I absolutely CANNOT WAIT for the final, published product. Casey McQuiston has written an absolutely LOVELY queer romance that is a DELIGHT to read from start to finish.

From Alex, the hotheaded, heart-of-gold BISEXUAL (!!!) protagonist to Henry, his enemy-to-friend-to-lover with hidden depths and love as big as the ocean to June and Nora, the DREAM TEAM LADIES in Alex's life to A WOMAN PRESIDENT, the characters draw you in and

I was lucky enough to get my hands on an ARC of this, and friends: this book is going to TAKE OFF, I guarantee it. It's a gorgeously written, funny, trope-tastic and intelligent and insanely heartfelt m/m royal romance stuffed full of politically furious millennials and so many (SO many) Hamilton references, both subtle and overt, that I almost started keeping notes.

(And it has the most incredible epistolary sections I've yet read in a contemporary novel. As soon as I hit them, I was doomed.)

I love EVERYTHING about this book. The writing is super fresh and the dialogue very current. The alternate reality created is hopeful and brought my woe-is-me-politics-is-a-dumpster-fire self out of the doldrums. I swooned and laughed and swooned and gasped and swooned and gawwww' really was a wonderfully charming read. Also, every single character was special in their own way and I loved them all, not one was a throwaway and I'm all about that.

When I first saw the blurb of this book, I was excited for it. It seemed like a promising entertaining rom-com (which I enjoy a lot) with a political/royal backdrop that felt like icing on the cake. However, this has just turned out to be soooooo much more. I don’t even have proper words to describe how much I loved it – just know that I have already read it twice in three days because once was definitely not enough. This book has brought me lots of smiles and tears, joy, hope and optimism; so b ...more

Way to up the fucking game. All other Romantic Comedies out there have got some pretty tough competition, because between this and How to Repair a Mechanical Heart by J.C LIllis the bar is set to the sky. Like, wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Talk about a home run.

This book has everything. Political Scandal. Intrigue. Sarcastic disasters around every corner. And an absolutely marvelous romance between two absolute doofus

Omg omg omg I can't wait to start it!!

A+, A f@#king plus. This ended up being so much more than I expected, and it's pretty much THE ULTIMATE escapist fantasy for liberal millennials right now.

I mean, there are things I could nitpick, but who flipping cares when my heart is a gooshy puddle on the floor. First of all, it's got this beautifully executed love story where you feel all the yearning crushiness of their attraction, you feel their longing to be together, you feel every moment of them falling in a deep, love-of-the-ages kind
i wrote a review of this in my head at 5am and now it's all gone lmao i should have logged onto the app.

first, i wanna say the AUDACITY (and sheer GLEE) to write political fanfic in a real book and watch all the I WISH THIS HAD HAPPENED in 2016 general elections and have at its center this super lovely gay relationship and i really did almost cry in the chilly, cold dark of 5am.

the romance was fucking ACE and like....there are moments where im like 'you cannot escape the problem of the monarchy'

Once I started reading this fantastic novel, I couldn't stop. The plot is dynamic, diverse and desperately needed in a reality where escapism is as important and necessary as ever. The characters are so instantly lovable, you root for them immediately-- it feels like the enormity of what their relationship means for their political spheres is brought down to earth and made plausible. McQuiston's writing is engrossing and effortless in its subtlety; our characters and their world are fully develo ...more
