I don't like the new format here, Neil. I'm used to going to page 2 as soon as I finish my 21st book.
Including the two on the far left of the top row, I have finished 8 books since Friday of last week, Neil.
Re: "Are the comments working now, Amber?": Just the one you posted 13 minutes ago, Neil. As far as notifications goes, that is. I see both posts just fine now that I'm here.If I recall last year correctly, Neil, It was well into March before I had this many books read, so yeah; it IS a fine start. And 30 of them are not books I read LAST year, either.
Probably gonna have a few more read by the time I get back on Monday after I go offline for the weekend when my Saturday 3 hr. allotment of Internet is over.
True. Also means I still gotta study for tomorrow's Bible Study. Chapter/Week 8 in a 14 week/chapter study on the book of EXODUS.
Our Bible Study got sidetracked onto a conversation about a fire at a house Pastor Drew was helping work on for Neighborhood Renewal. The fire made it into the local newspaper, Neil. http://www.bnd.com/news/local/communi...
Glad that there were no injuries Amber, and that the fire crews were quick to respond. It's always a worry when using any unfamiliar materials, so this reminds me to always check correct disposal instructions.
Yes it does. Crazy that we spent so much time on the newspaper rather than the subject of that week's chapter for the study.
This was weird, Neil. For some reason a few minutes ago, they were showing that I'd read TWO copies of Captain's Fury by Jim Butcher...the mass market paperback which I finished yesterday and the hardcover edition which was on the bottom row. Can't remember what I did to delete the hardcover copy.
Only until I deleted it. Didn't much care for the idea of two copies of the same book in my Challenge.
I see that the format has changed here on GR. I wonder if that would account for missing comments while they sorted things out.
I hope that you have managed to have a successful weekend of reading Amber. Are you still ahead of your target?
Amber wrote: "Am now an entire ROW ahead of schedule, Neil! Think I should readjust my goal?"I would leave your goal adjustment until later in the year Amber (hopefully you might actually get to see this message this time) :o)
You are a third of the way through your challenge target already Amber. Well done, and keep up the good work :o)
Thanks. As of today, I'm now 2-2/5th rows ahead of schedule. In other words, I'm now an even DOZEN books ahead.
Amber wrote: "Back on track now, Neil."That is an ambitious target you have now set yourself Amber, but a few good days reading and you will soon be ahead of schedule again. Keep up the good work :o)
I need to go view the books you have read as a part of this challenge.. then ill have something to say.
I'm more of a doer than a talker. One moment.. headed to view your books..
Update: ok, I love the variety of books here. And I'm astonished by the sheer number of books read. It makes my piddly number of books read in my "challenge" look terrible. And I love to see all those "little house" books. I was raised on that show, and it will always have a place in my heart.

Yep, LHOTP, He-Man, Smurfs, Transformers, SilverHawks, and those Kung Fu movies they used to play on Saturday afternoons..
267 books read already this year Amber, what an impressive total. I am still trying too catch up with my target, still 5 behind. My computer needing to be fixed and my Kindle dying didn't help with things, but I am slowly making up lost ground. Nowhere near your total so far though Amber.
Charles wrote: "Yep, LHOTP, He-Man, Smurfs, Transformers, SilverHawks, and those Kung Fu movies they used to play on Saturday afternoons.."Pretty much the same as me, except that I also watched the original B&W episodes of THE MICKEY MOUSE CLUB and THE ADVENTURES OF OZZIE AND HARRIET on the then commercial free Disney Channel, as well as THE CHALLENGE OF THE SUPERFRIENDS ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challen... ), SUPERBOOK ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superbook) and STAR BLAZERS ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Bl... ). The "Ozzie and Harriet" from the title of the other Disney Channel show were the grandparents of Matthew, Gunnar, Sam and Tracy Nelson...Ricky's kids. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1W6-... Matt and Gunnar.

Neil: It's called life and it sometimes gets in the way. LOL.
Since the last time you and Charles posted, Neil, I've added two books so my total's up to 269.
