Victoria (flame_2712) | 126 comments Hey Caroline!
Here are your picks:) I hope you like them!
From their TBR/new to them

1. The Biggest Loser - Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon

2. Modern Family - Perfect by Judith McNaught or Paradise by Judith McNaught

3. Channel Surfer - Tempestuous Reunion by Lynne Graham

Night Pleasures was a book I read last year and I really loved it! I’m intending to read the whole series again after my exams:) It’s a really good book! Perfect and Paradise are just about my favourite contemporary romances of all time and I simply cannot give picks without recommending my favourite author, Judith Mcnaught:) I just read Tempestuous Reunion and I was in love with it. The guy is just super sweet. It’s a Harlequin and I’m not sure whether you’ve read any of those before, but this was just awesome:) One of my favs to be honest!

From your read

4. Law and Order (in all its iterations) - Gentle Rogue by Johanna Lindsey (Its actually the 3rd in the Malory series, but my favourite without a doubt) The first book is Love Only Once!

5. Dancing with the Stars - Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

6. That's So RavenThe Forbidden Game by L.J. Smith

I saw in your bio that you enjoyed historical fiction and loved a good romance, so why not read historical romance? :P Heh, its my favourite genre, so I decided to recommend you one of my favourite series by that author! For Vampire Academy, I just read it recently and I loved it. Seeing as you don’t really read YA vampire stuff, I thought it would be a new experience! Heh, actually its one of the only YA I ever read and I did find it really good! For The Forbidden Game, it’s in my opinion the best YA book ever. This was the first YA I read in a long long time and I absolutely loved it. There’s romance too, and the last book is really sweet. Its kinda like a trilogy but each book is relatively short, about 200 pages, and the version I read was bound into a single book!

Buddy Reads

7. The Amazing Race – US! I went to LA and Vegas last year and I loved it so much that I really want to go back for a visit in the future! The SummoningKelley Armstrong

8. My Favorite Channel is... – I don’t have cable and the shows here in Singapore aren’t that great. But I love a good romance and I absolutely adore romance shows, so I’m gonna recommend a romance:)  Untamed by Elizabeth Lowell

For The Summoning, I’ve just set aside my prejudice for YA, so I certainly wouldn’t mind trying another YA! It looked pretty good:) I saw Untamed on your TBR and it just grabbed me at once. The cover was just so pretty! I dunno, I love those colors! Medieval plus romance seems to be a good mix indeed. I haven’t read many of those kind, but those I read, I liked:)
Night Pleasures (Dark-Hunter, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon Perfect (Second Opportunities #2) by Judith McNaught Paradise (Second Opportunities #1) by Judith McNaught Tempestuous Reunion (Harlequin Presents, #1551) by Lynne Graham Gentle Rogue (Malory Family, #3) by Johanna Lindsey Love Only Once (Malory Family, #1) by Johanna Lindsey Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead The Forbidden Game (The Forbidden Game, #1-3) by L.J. Smith The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong Untamed (Medieval, #1) by Elizabeth Lowell

Lauren (laurenjberman) Hi Karen H,
Thanks so much for the amazing picks. I think you must be a mind reader because I had decided on reading at least three of them this month.
I will definitely read Unlawful Contact and In Bed with a Highlander - I would love to do a buddy read. Just let me know when you want to start.
I may also get to Beyond the Highland Mist.
Enjoy your picks!

message 204: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) Hi Heather,
I had a good time going through your shelves and even added some new books to my TBR.
Here are your picks:

1. Biggest Loser - Don't Tell by Karen Rose. I read this last month and really enjoyed it.

2. Modern Family - The Reef by Nora Roberts. I noticed that you and I have this author in common and I really enjoyed this one of hers.

3. Channel Surfer - Haunted by Your Touch anthology. I've started Shayla Black's Doomsday Brethren series, which is really good.

4. Law & Order - Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath. This is an amazing series. Will probably make you laugh and cry.

5. Dancing with the Stars - The Alienist by Caleb Carr. I noticed that you haven't read many historical mysteries. This is one of my favorites.

6. That's So Raven - The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter. This is on your TBR so I thought you might like it.

7. Amazing Race - Scoundrel by Zoe Archer. I've always wanted to go to Greece. if you would rather read the first book in this series, it is Warrior.

8. My Favorite Channel - Deadly Lies by Cynthia Eden. I love crime shows and I see that you have read the first two books in this series. This is a great conclusion.

Let me know if you want to Buddy Read.
Enjoy your picks.

message 206: by Polina (last edited Oct 29, 2011 06:15AM) (new)

Polina (p0lit0o) | 71 comments Hey, Suzanne (NZ),
here are my picks for you!

The Biggest Loser - Well, you have quite a few heavy titles in your shelves so let's unburden you a little. I suggest Les Misérables because I've read and loved it. If you don't feel like reading classics, you should try Redeeming Love, it is not as long but it definitely isn't a light read, either. Plus, I've heard great things about it.

Modern Family - From your to-read shelf, I've read Long Hard Ride and it's the start of a really good cowboy series. It can get a little hot for someone's taste, so you have been warned. :) As for new to you, my favorite contemporary book is Kiss an Angel and it's just the perfect read, in my opinion. Try it, you won't regret it!

Channel Surfer - Brousing through your shelves, I came across Angels of Darkness and I plan to add it to my shelves. It seems really interesting and the authors are so talented, especially Nalini Singh. Or if you are looking for a short read, I suggest Shit My Dad Says, very popular and very funny book, or so I've been told. ;)

Law and Order - One of my all time favorite series is Vampire Academy - the first book is Vampire Academy, of course. I see you've read and liked The Twilight Saga, so have I, but this one is way better. If you're not up for a YA book, another favorite series of mine is Psy-Changleing by the infamous Nalini Singh. It starts with Slave to Sensation and gets only better!

Dancing with the Stars - This was a tough one! You read various genres so I couldn't pick the one you hate and throw it at you. :D My only choice is to suggest a book with a taboo topic, so I picked Forbidden. It's very raw and emotional and... I have no words to describe it.

That's So Raven - This, on the other hand, is easy! I recently read Daughter of Smoke and Bone and I LOVED! it. You are into fantasy so I'm absolutely sure that you'll love this book as much as I did. Another suggestion is Divergent, it is almost as good as The Hunger Games.

BUDDY READS

The Amazing Race - I really want to visit the US some day so I picked Magic Bites. It is set there and we both have it on our to-read shelves so it was the perfect choice.

My Favorite Channel is... Well, I don't watch TV often so I don't have one. My only possible pick is The Lucky One. I heard they are making it into a movie so... I know it doesn't quite fit the category but nothing else came to my mind.

So these were my suggestions for you this month, I hope you found something you like. Let me know if you want to do the Buddy Read.

Have a great day!

message 207: by Samantha McNulty (last edited Oct 29, 2011 06:54AM) (new)

Samantha McNulty Regina, here are your picks!

1. The Biggest LoserThe Golden Compass by Philip Pullman

2. Modern FamilyHex Hall by Rachel Hawkins

3. Channel Surfer – Since you have Pride and Prejudice on your shelves, perhaps you may like A Darcy Christmas, an anthology of short stories each about the Darcy family.

From your read
4. Law and Order (in all its iterations) – Divergent by Veronica Roth

5. Dancing with the Stars – It took me a long time to come to a conclusion for this pick; Beautiful Creatures

6. That's So Raven - Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead – I noticed that you love series of books so I thought I would try and persuade you 

Buddy Reads
7. The Amazing Race – I would love to visit Amsterdam, so on that note; The Diary of a Young Girl (I’m aware that this is not everyone’s cup of tea)

8. My Favourite Channel is... Well, my favourite channel is usually drama (classic style) so my pick here would be Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell.

Unfortunetly, I cannot participate in the Buddy Challenges.

I really hope you find something you like in these picks, Regina. I tried my best; this being the first time I have ever done the PIFM challenge!

Heather (messybar) | 189 comments November Pick-It for Joyce!
Good morning Joyce. Hope something here will peak your interest for November.

From your TBR

1. The Biggest Loser
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix This is the monster of the series (870 pages in paperback), but it was also my favorite in the series. Loved this one so much.

2. Modern Family - One Foot in the Grave This is modern and you seemed to enjoy the first one of the series and like my 1st pick, this is my favorite in the series so far.

3. Channel Surfer - Dates From Hell I read the summary and it looks like a fun read. So much so that I added it to my TBR list.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5) by J.K. Rowling One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress, #2) by Jeaniene Frost Dates From Hell by Kim Harrison

From your read
4. Law and Order (in all its iterations)
- Grave Witch There was something about the world created here that sucked me, and left me enjoying the queasiness some parts left me with. lol

5. Dancing with the Stars - How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf Looking at your various lists, I didn't see quite like it. There are supernatural beings here, but a lot of humor and lightness.

6. That's So Raven - The Summoning I enjoyed this series immensely.

Grave Witch (Alex Craft, #1) by Kalayna Price How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf (Naked Werewolf, #1) by Molly Harper The Summoning (Darkest Powers, #1) by Kelley Armstrong

Buddy Reads
7. The Amazing Race
- call me odd, or the Jetsons cartoon fan, but I always wanted to visit off planet or futuristic places. I'm picking Collision Course

8. My Favorite Channel is... - Being a fan of Suspense, mystery (like NCIS) but needing romance and with some paranormal, I thought you might want to give Stormwalker a go since its on both of our TBR lists..

Collision Course (8th Wing #1) by Zoe Archer Stormwalker (Stormwalker, #1) by Allyson James

Let me know if you want to do either of the Buddy Reads.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Cheryl, Cinci huh? I believe you are the closest PIFM person yet. Let's see if both of us being in Ohio has helped me find something you like. I hope the OH connection has helped me pick a winner for you.

1. I didn't want to say anything, but your shelves could stand to lose a little... An Echo in the Bone (Outlander, #7) by Diana Gabaldon An Echo in the Bone - You've read the first six in the series and given them all five stars. I'm just guessing here, but book seven is likely to be a good choice for you as well.

2. So I have a sister that lives in Los Angeles with her and her ex-wife's kids. I have another sister that lives in PA with the same guy she started dating is the 7th grade. My parents tend to travel a lot and I'm not really sure where they are right now. But I guess that's just the way life is these days... As far as contemporary romance goes, how can you live in Ohio and only have read one Jennifer Crusie book? It's always interesting reading about places that you know and as a local author, Jennifer Crusie sets almost all of her books in OH. I'd go with either Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie Bet Me or Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie Maybe This Time.

3. *click*"Today in Thailand-"*click*"Yes, the baby is yours. I told you I would nev-"*click*"and now for only $19.99, you too can-"*click* I'm not really sure where to go with this one. I don't see anything on your TBR that screams 'I'm an anthology!' I suppose I could recommend the Chelsea Handler book Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea. The stories are not by different authors but they are mostly unrelated. You might also enjoy Four Dukes and a Devil by Cathy Maxwell Four Dukes and a Devil. It has a few historical romance stories that you might enjoy as it seems to be your genre of preference.

From your read
4. Had I known there were going to be this many books in this series I'm not sure I would have started down this path. But now I'm glad that I've made the journey. - There are two long running series that I will continue to read every book that comes out. The first is a fantasy series. It is incredibly funny and filled with satire. The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett starts with The Color of Magic (Discworld, #1) by Terry Pratchett The Color of Magic. The second series is a slightly futuristic romance with my favorite couple of all time, Eve Dallas and Roarke. I am of course talking about the In Death series by J.D. Robb. This starts with Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb Naked in Death.

5. How do you know you don't like it until you try it? Of course the counter argument is that there are certainly things that nobody would ever want. Slow consumption by carnivorous ants anyone? I thought not. In any event I think I have two that are outside of your normal that are generally regarded as FANTASTIC! First is a straight fantasy book. With more than 73,000 ratings and a 4.41 average that should tell you something upfront. A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin A Game of Thrones is really really good. Then we have a space opera. If you could dig a hard-core science fiction, then give Pandora's Star (Commonwealth Saga, #1) by Peter F. Hamilton Pandora's Star a shot.

6. I believe that children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way. - My favorite YA book I've read in the last couple of years is Nation by Terry Pratchett Nation. It's good but an odd mix of alternative history and coming of age. You already read (and liked) the Hunger Games trilogy. You will probably also like the YA Mortal Instruments story. It starts with City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare City of Bones. This choice is already on your TBR.

Buddy Reads
7. Holy Crap! I had to scrape my windows this morning. Let's get out of Ohio and go somewhere warm. How about a private tropical island? Works for me. I'm probably going to read an Opal Carew erotica, Total Abandon by Opal Carew Total Abandon, this month. You are more than welcome to join me on my journey to hotter climes.

8. Favorite channel? I watch a lot of movies and sports. Mostly from AMC, Cinemax, Showtime, The Movie Channel, whatever. I like good movies with complex characters and unexpected twists. Most Megan Hart books are just like that. I have yet to get to Broken by Megan Hart Broken but would like to join you in this.

Sorry about the delay in getting these all together for you. Hope you get a good one out of the bunch.

Hi Regina!
Thanks for the fast recs! I was in the remix last month, so it is nice not to have to wait. It is so hard to narrow down the great choices! I think right now I am choosing between A Deadly Fear, a Certain Wolfish Charm, Oleander House and Outlander. I really can't decide yet, but I will let you know which ones I end up reading. I will have to buy them, so it probably just depends on what I find at the bookstore.

Alexis (LexaReads) | 375 comments Hey Carla! I really hope you like my picks, we have verey different tastes and I'd never heard of a lot of your books, but I did try to mix it with things you'll enjoy and that are a bit different from your taste. If you don't see anything let me know and I'll try again!

1. The Biggest Loser The Swan Thieves I've had this book on my TBR for a while as well and haven't read it yet, but it really looks good! It's 565 pages!
2. Modern Family Virgin River I love this series. They're like coming home for to a blanket and hot chocolate! They are full of cozy warm feelings.
3. Channel Surfer Peace Meals: Candy-Wrapped Kalashnikovs and Other War Stories I couldn't find any I'd read before or even heard of on your TBR list. But, this one looks really interesting with different stories from the author's travels.

4. Law and Order The Inn At Eagle Point I've really enjoyed this series that I started last year. They are very quick reads and you really get to know and love the family.
5. Dancing with the Stars Dark Lover you seem to be lacking in the paranormal and urban fantasy genre so I figured this would be a great series to recommend. I just got my non-reading roommate to read this and all she wants to do now is continue the series.
6. That's so Raven Divergent I saw that you really enjoyed the Hunger Games. This is a similar but great series that I read last month. It only has the first book out so far, but I can't wait to see where it goes.

7. The Night Circus this book actually travels all around to different areas of Europe, but I haven't ever been to Europe and I really want to see it all. Let me know if you'd like to read this with me!
8. Déjà Dead I don't have a favorite channel, but my favorite show is Bones which is based off of this series. I won't be able to read this one with you but it is a great series if you like mysteries!

The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova Virgin River (Virgin River, #1) by Robyn Carr Peace Meals Candy-Wrapped Kalashnikovs and Other War Stories by Anna Badkhen The Inn At Eagle Point (Chesapeake Shores #1) by Sherryl Woods Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern Déjà Dead (Temperance Brennan, #1) by Kathy Reichs

Hi! Sorry, apparently my body needed sleep and won out over my excitement for rec picking. I hope you find something that you'll like. If not, I'll be happy to pick again. Most of the picks are new to you.

The Biggest Loser: Caine's Reckoning by Sarah McCarty

Modern Family: Flat-Out Sexy by Erin McCarthy

Channel Surfer: Hot for the Holidays by Lora Leigh, Anya Bast (authors from your Read and TBR list) or (from your TBR) What You Can't See by Allison Brennan

Law and Order: Lover Eternal by J.R. Ward (I noticed that you read the first one, but the series gets better- so, this is my gentle nudge)

Dancing with the Stars: Dirty by Megan Hart (I noticed that you read a few erotica authors, but this book is a little different).

That's So Raven: Graceling by Kristin Cashore

Buddy Reads
The Amazing Race: A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux or Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (loved them both tremendously and both based in Europe (love to get there one day)).

My Favorite Channel is... Naked in Death by JD Robb (My favorite channel is Investigation Discovery so, this book about a crime solver seemed appropriate).

I've read the buddy read books, but I'm always up for a reread of those.

Enjoy! Let me know which book you've decided to read.

Jojo | 1010 comments Hi Sue

Hope you like these picks - we don't overlap on many books so not sure if you'll like many, if not let me know I can revisit some.

1. The Biggest Loser: The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman - I read Practical Magic last month and loved it so hope this is good.
2. Modern Family: Giving Chase by Lauren Dane - I read this because it was free for Kindle and loved it, I now plan to read the rest of the series (BTW Kyle is classed as a Beta Hero but I loved him)
3. Channel Surfer: Flirts!by Lisa Scott - not big on anthologies because some stories are good and some bad, but these were all feel good stories.
4. Law and Order: I seem to have read the first book in a series but not many beyond so here's a few I've kept going with
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde - this series is very good fun
The Eye of the World by Robert Jordan - Wheel of Time series is very detailed fantasy (just 1 book left I can't wait)
Terry Pratchett - the Discworld are all good but my favourite is Wyrd Sisters or Guards! Guards!
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams - great series
5. Dancing with the Stars: To Catch an Heiress by Julia Quinn and it's sequel How to Marry a Marquis - very light hearted regency like all her books
6. That's so Raven: I don't really read YA but here's a couple
The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman
Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery - I know it's a children's book rather than YA but it's my favourite book.
7. The Amazing Race: Defender by Catherine Mann - Turkey a fantastic holiday destination would love to go
8. My Favourite Channel is : Before I Go to Sleep by S J Watson - my TV choice is a bit different from my reading tastes, I love programmes I have to think about and work out and I think this one would be like that.

I Hope you find something you like - let me know if you want to do a buddy read.

Pollyanna (polly8) | 300 comments Hey Sam here are your recs:

1. The Biggest Loser: The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff or The Book Thief by Markus Zusak - really enjoyed both of these, The book thief more so but The 19th Wife is a really interesting look into the Latter Day Saints.

2. Modern Family: The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood This is a great dystopian novel, I noticed it was on your tbr so I had to recommend it.

3. Channel Surfer: Fanny Hill, or Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure by John Cleland - I saw this on your tbr and it sounded pretty interesting plus it's really short.

4. Law and Order: Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning I noticed we have quite similar taste and so this is a pretty good supernatural book, I have only read this one in the series so far but plan to continue with it.

5. Dancing with the Stars: Déjà Dead by Kathy Reichs or The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver It looks like crime isn't really a part of your bookshelf and these are 2 great starts to series, I particularly love Kathy Reichs.

6. That's so Raven: The Outsiders by Susan E. Hinton a classic that Hinton wrote when she was still a teenager, one of my fave YA's and it is a pretty short read that will keep you hooked.

7. The Amazing Race: Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden I would love to visit Japan in the future and I know this isn't on your tbr but I thought you might like it too.

8. My Favourite channel is...: The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau I love sci-fi and we both have this on our tbr.

Hope you like these :)

~Megan~ (megadee) Picks for Elke!

I hope I found something you might like! Please let me know if you need different books.

1. The Biggest Loser: Tribute by Nora Roberts - The longest book on your TBR that I've read. This book turned out to be one of my favorite NR books. Ford is such a geeky hot hero!

2. Modern Family: First Grave on the Right by Darynda Jones - I guess you can say The Grim Reaper has an alternate lifestyle, right? I loved this book!

3. Channel Surfer: Taking Chase by Lauren Dane - I really enjoyed these quick reads. You seemed to enjoy the first book, so why not keep reading about the yummy Chase brothers?

4. Law and Order: A Certain Wolfish Charm by Lydia Dare - You seem to like regency settings and some paranormal books, so I thought why not introduce a series that combines the two?
Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh - I recommend this series to everyone as it's my favorite of all time.

5. Dancing with the Stars: I notice you don't read any fantasy...I myself can only handle it if there's a very strong romance element. These two series fit the bill and are two of my favorites.
Warprize by Elizabeth Vaughan
Lord of the Fading Lands by CL Wilson

6. That's So Raven: Divergent by Veronica Roth - The best YA book I've read all year!

7. The Amazing Race: When Harry Met Molly by Kieran Kramer - Always wanted to go to England, and I've heard great things about this book!

8. My Favorite Channel: I watch the Food Network more than any other channel, I guess. I am taking a liberty here and choosing The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. No, it's not about food, but it has hunger in the title, right?

Let me know if you'd like to do a buddy read!

Sue (knitwitsl) | 226 comments Nancy,

You gave me good recommendations a couple of months ago, so hopefully I am returning the favor with my recs to you!

The Biggest Loser
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This is the third longest one on your shelf, but it is a really good book.

Modern Family
Agnes and the Hitman by Jennifer Crusie. Jennifer Crusie is one of my favorite authors and I think you would enjoy this book.

Channel Surfer
I couldn't find a good anthology to recommend, so I went for one of your shorter books. Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier.

Law and Order
I have really enjoyed the Psy-Changeling books and think you would as well. The first one is Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh.

Dancing with the Star
You seem to like a wide variety of books, but I tried to find one that was outside of your comfort zone. I noticed you haven't read any Stephen King, and I think this one is really good - The Bachman Books.

That's So Raven
When the Wind Blows by James Patterson. This is a very interesting book.

The Amazing Race
I usually have trouble finding a book when they ask for one that shows a place I'd like to travel. But I did find Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie on my list. It's based in England and I would like to see England some day.

My Favorite Channel
It's a tie between TLC and the food network. Since the food network was easier to to find a book for, I went with that! You have Carbs & Cadavers by J.B. Stanley in your TBR pile and it's a book I wanted to read before. I put it on the hold list at the library just in case you pick this one!

I hope you find something in this list that you would like to read!

Jojo,

Thank you for some really good recommendations! I know that I want to read
The Dovekeepers. I like Alice Hoffman and I just picked up this book from the library after placing it on hold a bit ago. So that one is for sure!

I would also like to read Giving Chase. It looks interesting and since you said it's really good I'd like to read it.

I also think Before I Go to Sleep looks really interesting. I've put it on hold at the library, but I'm #11 on the list (with 8 copies available). So I'm not sure I'll be able to read it this month. But I do want to read it!

Thank you again for the great recommendations!

Stormy | 144 comments Melissa,

1. I usually hate this category because if something's been on someone's TBR for a long time, there's usually a reason, but since you've only been on here since April, maybe you just haven't gotten to this one yet: Grave Peril

2. This one is both contemporary and a bit alternative lifestyle, but not in the way most people might think. This is one of my faves: Stranger

3. I am not a very big fan of short stories, but since you seemed to enjoy Off Kilter, I thought I'd recommend: Bad Boys In Kilts, I like every single one of these short stories.

4. So you say you like paranormal, maybe give The Dark Days series a try. More urban fantasy, but definitely paranormal. The series starts with Nightwalker. The good news about this series is that it's only 7 books long and they are all currently in print, so if you like it, you can devour them all. No wait necessary.

5. Out of your comfort zone...try Forbidden Heat for some permanent menage.

6. YA - get on the Vampire Academy train before the movie comes out. I REALLY liked this whole series, better than twilight (anathema, I know).

7. The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie - I can read about things Scottish any time.

8. My favorite channel if I watched TV is ESPN. I roundly panned Rachel Gibson's first Chinooks Hockey book, but I've read most of the other sports romance books out there, so short of re-reading Flat-Out Sexy, which I loved, I'll go out on a limb and prepare to hate Book #2 See Jane Score. But don't hold it against me if you happen to be a hockey fan and realize that while Rachel can write a good yarn, her knowledge of her series premise is poor at best.

And with that, I hope that you find something that interests you! Happy Reading.

I hope I found something that interests you. Many of the books on your TBR pile are not published yet so I tried to give you more than one option on most of the topics - hope that helps. If not let me know and I'll be happy to give it another try.

New or their TBR pile:

1. The Biggest Loser~The Host by Stephanie Meyer (619pgs) I really enjoyed this book - read it after I finished the Twilight series and was not disappointed

2. Modern Family~ the first one I haven't read yet but it is on my TBR pile and I've heard good things; the second is the first of a series that I have enjoyed - Fifty Shades of Grey or Dead Witch Walking

3. Channel Surfer~ this is on both of our TBR piles Entangled

From my TBR/Read pile
4. Law and Order~ new to you series. Well, I have several series that I truly enjoy but I stayed with my top two and then picked a third that would be new to you but you have read this author before and looked like you enjoy her.
Dark Lover and Halfway to the Grave ~ I love the brothers from the first series and Cat/Bones from the second (I will say I liked Bones better in the second booked and loved him by the end of that book) lastly Succubus Blues

5. Dancing with the Stars~ out of your comfort zone. I chose a contemporary romance that I just read this month and really enjoyed all the characters - plan on continuing this trilogy Delicious by Susan Mallery and it doesn't look like you read a lot of thrillers so I would recommend Angels & Demons - loved it and got my husband hooked on Dan Brown as well....

6. That's so Raven~ YA Switched I really enjoyed this trilogy by Amanda Hocking or Crossed you enjoyed the first in this series and this comes out this month

Buddy Reads
7. The Amazing Race~ Darkfever mostly takes place in Ireland. I have been to England but would like to see both Ireland and Scotland some day.

8. My Favorite Channel is..... Well I did say I was an "F" but when I can get me hand on the remote and have some free time I usually watch the Food Channel - love it so with that in mind.....Too Hot To Touch

I have read both of the Buddy Reads I suggested but would be happy to reread them with you if you wish.

Happy Reading!!
Melissa

Thanks for the recommendations. You have inspired me to remove That Charming Man from my TBR, it was recommended in a past PIFM challenge and I got it out of the library...but the guy didn't really sound like much of a Charming Man at all, so...I passed. Thanks for making it official.

Funny enough, As She's Told is not outside my comfort zone at all, but since it's over $18 to try it, I'm uncertain whether I'll wade through that this month.

Based on your exclamations, I will get my hands on a copy of Halfway to the Grave this month. And if I can find a copy of Four Play, I'll probably venture through that as well.

Thanks for the recs, they are much appreciated.

Hi Sue,
Thank you so much for the recs! These are great and I am definitely going to read several of them --- I already had decided to do "The Book Thief" at some point soon because a friend keeps telling me it is so good and she keeps encouraging me to read it. I was going to read "Agnes and the Hitman" last month and instead read a whole bunch of other stuff, so that one is a definite read, also. I will have to look and see if I read 'The Bachman Books" by King --- I am definitely not a horror fiction fan, but have read a couple of his long ago. I am always up for a challenge to my reading habits, though, so it is good to have you recommend things like it that I don't normally read. I love Agatha Christie, and I know in the far-off long ago past I read this one, but I may just re-read it because I like her stuff so much. "The Carbs and Cadavers" one is also one that another friend has been begging me to read because she likes that series so much, so I will also be doing that one. The other three sound good as well, so I will see how many I can get read this month.
I will let you know as soon as I finish one of these. I am eager to get started as soon as I finish the other three books I am into right now, which will hopefully be by Monday!
Thanks for the good recs!!
