My final post:
20.4 The Plot Line Thickens
I am not usually a fan of light "chick" movies, but I do enjoy movies about very different friends coming together for an event, activity, etc. This book was not even good, but it had that premise.

25.3 - Daylight Savings
C) Read a short book (100-300 pages)
The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
This book has 128 pages.
D) Read a "dark" book - select from Most Depressing Book of All Time
The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson
I don't think this is a depressing book. Sure, it has it's down moments, but I think it is a beautiful love story. Love is not depressing. It's inspiring.

I read The Swan Thieves by Elizabeth Kostova and The Luxe by Anna Godbersen.
I am going to claim one big book ticket for the Swan Thieves which is 565 pages long

I am so sorry to b posting so much so late in the game bt I have been unable to get into Goodreads for well over a week and before that I was sick!
5.3 T.H.A.N.K.S.G.I.V.I.N.G
Cold Comfort Farm byStella Gibbons
10.7 City Lights
Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell
10.9 Under The Covers
Hey Women! Chick Lot Before There Was... Books that the women of Mad Men read
The Best of Everything byRona Jaffe.
Was it Under the Covers worthy? While this book dealt with premarital sex, adultery and abortion I felt that it was very dated and not nearly as shocking as The Group by Mary McCarthy was many years earlier. None of the men were even likeable, let alone worth keepng. This is about the only book where I like the movie better! And that must be because of the cast - Joan Crawford, Brian Aherne, Hope Lange, Louis Jourdan and Suzy Parker. They bring New York City to life and show off the clothes to perfection! So, no, not under the covers worthy.
15.6 One Hit Wonders
For a first book - perfection!
Major Pettigrew's Last Stand by Helen Simonson
Ms Simonson is a Goodreads Author
20.4 Mrs Soule- -The Plot Line Thickens
Movie Scenarios that I like - the small stories of life. Action is fun and exciting but I prefer the small, and seemingly mundane everyday, common folk stories such as all of the series by one of my favorite authors.
Love Over Scotland by Alexander McCall Smith in the 44 Scotland Street series fits this beautifully!
AM Smith is a Goodreads author.
20.7 The Melting Pot
Mama's Bank Account by Kathryn Forbes is about a Norwegian family and their experiences adapting to America. Small stories but wonderful.
20.10 Group Reads
I read Little Bee by Chris Cleave and posted on the discussion, message 47
25.1 And The Story Continues...
I am enthralled with the John Marshall Tanner Series of mysteries by Stephen Greenleaf that I found during the Summer Challenge. For this I read 9 and 10.
