Jackie | 125 comments It's been awhile so I have lots to report!

20.3 Feminist Literature- The Penelopiad: The Myth of Penelope and Odysseus by Margaret Atwood. The book is The Odyssey from Penelope's point of view focusing on her problems and the problems her maids face from the suitors.

30.1 It's in the Cards- The first card I chose was an Ace of Hearts which means it had to be first in a series and a goodreads author. I chose Kiss of Midnight by Lara Adrian. The second card I chose was a 5 of Clubs. I read The Help by Kathryn Stockett.

30.3 Shipwrecked!- I read Indulgence in Death (In Death, #31) by J.D. Robb and Kiss of Crimson by Lara Adrian. I chose Indulgence in Death because it's part of my favorite series and I chose Kiss of Crimson for some romance while I'm on my own on an island!

I would also like to claim Goodreads Author tickets for Margaret Atwood, Lara Adrian twice for two books, Kathryn Stockett for a total of 4 for this posting.

20.4 Mrs. Soule’s Task (Author! Author!) - The Plot Line Thickens

I read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I like movies with big dramatic confrontations between good and evil at the end - ones where you know exactly who to cheer for and who to boo! Think the original Star Wars movie, or the last Lord of the Rings movie.

Terri (terrilovescrows) I was soooo trying not to wait until the last minute to post but at least I am able to do some now:

10.1 SHORTER DAYS – Read a book of short stories, novellas, or essays. The book may be by a single author or an anthology. Ex. Selected Stories of O. Henry, Essays of E. B. White, Masterpieces: The Best Science Fiction of the 20th Century

For example, my name is "Laura" so I could read "The GUeRnsey LiterAry And Potato Peel Pie Society," "The Book of LAUghteR And Forgetting," etc.

If you have questions about a name you want to use, please go to the help thread to get it approved.

REQUIRED: When posting your task, please include the name that you used for the task. If you do not wish to post your real name, you can use an anagram of the name in your post.

The weather is turning colder. It's time to snuggle up with your hot beverage of choice and a good book. For this task, you should reread an old favorite, revisit a beloved author, or pick up your favorite genre. OPTIONAL: Tell why you consider this a comfort read.

Nancy Drew & The Hidden Staircase by Carolyn Keene

It was a comfort read because it brought me back to my much younger days...

Terri (terrilovescrows) 10.3 FREEDOM!: The Emancipation Proclamation (Sept. 22, 1863) – Read a book related to any “emancipation” movement related to a social or legal condition – it could be American slavery, but it could also include South Africa, women’s rights, people rebelling against colonial powers, the Jedi knights trying to overthrow the empire, etc. Ex.
